Yep, after 10+ years living in western-style in Metro Manila, very happy now in Roxas City. It's not truly provincial I spose, we even have some traffic lights and an SM mall now, but it's a helluva lot more "real world" than being in a condo in Manila. Very happy in my new world.
Welcome to Roxas I've been here 23 years it has improved drastically over the years I will buy you a cup of coffee if we run up on each other one day in town stay safe
May the Good Lord bless you and keep you in good health so that you will have many years of enjoyment with your wife and family in your own little paradise.
Province life is what I'm after too... Raised in the country, a little big city life for years as a military young dude, then back to small city/village living... As a kid had to plant/weed/harvest the garden, raise animals, cut firewood, hunted and fished, and was a good life... Looking for that again but amongst palm trees versus snow piles! Pour is coming along... 🙏🙏🙏 👍😎👍
James, it’s awesome your always improving. I enjoy watching all your projects and miss some of the characters that were on your house building crew. Great. Content.
I love the city something about the vibe of a small with just enough city versus Provence where it’s not enough for me by no means my ptsd will drive me in the ground with boredom.
Hello Po nice to see you on this vedieo again. Those are some healthy yard birds James I like the color on those .I thought I was gonna get to see some local BBQ dude what happened. I believe I'd like a good mix of some city & province type area not all of either one . I enjoyed this short vedieo Kuya take it anyway you can get it huh. GOD BLESS Yall Mabuhay Po .
They may not call smaller towns in the province, "suburbs", but in reality they are just that! I enjoyed David's analogy that if you want America in the Philippines, you can find it. But everything comes with a price! I have lived in the suburbs and even rural areas similar to Terrell, TX in Georgia & Florida, most all my adult life. Other than the 2 years in Miami Beach from 2005-2007 (getting tropically adjusted to the Philippines)I only lived in an urban environment (Washington, DC) until I was 5 years old before moving to the suburbs in Rockville, MD. In the Phils, I truly prefer the province lifestyle, and with a vehicle it would not matter how far from the city. Having a hospital within a few minutes is not a concern in my life currently. I might revisit that notion when I hit 85, but for now I am returning to LIVE LIFE, not worrying about where I will die!
Living in the province is by far better than the city in my opinion. Everyone is friendly and there are small shops and roadside stands to get most of what you need. The city is only a ride away for anything else you are looking for. I love it here.

Nice, I’m Deep Province, Not for everyone a bit dangerous, But we have Condo in Cebu, short rent, we escape there, But love province, But I’m Wyoming Rancher, I’m in Jungle with the Wild, pretty lawless, I’d not recommend Farm life for foreigners, They tend to get themselves in big trouble, Great Channel, 🫡⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, Belus
Really trying to get some chickens going here. Always running somewhere......out of eggs. Are Rhode Island reds easy to come by here ? Or other good varieties. I'm in the province (of Cebu).
How are you doing on the Carnivore diet? I started over this past weekend, but I think I may have eaten TOO much fat (air fryer pork belly) as I was up and down all last night. This morning had some chicken bullion in hot water just to balance out my salt loss. Will see how it goes and you inspired that for sure. Thanks!

Nice to hear your good reviews living in Roxas City. And yes, it's not as big as Iloilo City, but you can definitely live big and as peacefully 🥰
May the Good Lord bless you and keep you in good health so that you will have many years of enjoyment with your wife and family in your own little paradise.
If you want to prevent erosion, you can't beat mangroves.
The government has a huge project coming that will forever change it all. Mangroves wont matter

good evening all
Nice Rhodesia Island res. I used to raise them when I lived in the country, but predators were a problem.
The native chickens are much mo delicious
Heh heh...that bowl of chicken feed looks like 15 bean soup.

yes they are here. I bought the first ones local and hatched the rest from their eggs
Cool to see the house come to fruition. The house seems to have a soul now if you know what I mean👊
Live band, man just give me some ice tea, bbq on stick and I’m happy

I am doing great and loving it. Sticking by it 100% and amazed with the results so far.
Do you use nesting boxes or egg hunting?
In the Numbeo quality of life index, Manila is on the last place globally.
