Excellent instructions. I especially liked the HomeKit-Matter setup and the transfer device to new hub sections. Thanks again for the timeline for later viewing
Always Frank!😃
Thank you for the video! Great explanations. Could you clarify if the device can be used as a monitor for humidity from another smartphone / laptop thats only connected via Internet and not directly in the same wifi network as the Hub2? I would like to monitor humidity from another house thats further away or when I'm travelling.
Yep! When you log into the app, you can see the humidity measured from the Hub in the app. Even on the main page. You can also get notifications based on levels of humidity or temperature :)
any water leak monitor device
i would like to setup a very simple computer room monitoring
The video and Hub 2 are great! I was hoping though it would display the outdoor temp sensor. It doesn’t appear to be able to do that yet. Brian, can you pull some strings to get that in the next firmware update? 😀
I did! Very soon Mikey!
Next time he must Start with Defining what the thing IS
@@zulu_mafia If you don't already have this, the video's not for you.
@@TechYourLife1 It happened-thanks Brian!
@@mikeyfl Yesssssssssss! Yeah man, it's good now hey?
Hey, are you able to control an IR controlled device by finding that device instead of using an existing remote to teach it? My AC/heating is IR controllable (Siemens) but did not come with a remote control
You can try! There's a huge list of devices, but no guarantees especially if it didn't come with the remote.
Hey. I have a question. Once you add AC in SwitchBot App, can you control it from Home application or you have to interact with it always via SwitchBot app? I'm just wandering if it is able to expose AC unit to Apple Home application and to set up there some automatisation?
It doesn't pass IR devices to Apple Home. It does pass on/off control through to Alexa, Smartthings, and Google Home
@@TechYourLife1 This is killing me... please say this isn't true. I just bought this device specifically because I want to create automations for things like my movie projector and AV receiver, both of which are not true "smart devices" - I want to control them using Apple "Home" and Homekit automations.
Hi! One question, do you know if the IR part can be transferred to Homekit? I would buy it just for that function to be able to use my TV and air conditioning. Greetings from Spain!
You can now synchronize your IR devices with Apple Homekit, therefore controlling them through Siri or Home app

@@TechYourLife1 Hello, I finally bought the hub following your video!
I have the hub integrated into the Apple Home application through Matter and it works perfectly.
In the Switchbot application I already have an IR device configured but it does not appear in the Apple Home application.
I don't see an option on how to add it. Is it done in any special way? I only see the option to add it through shortcuts. Thank you, greetings Spain!
Can a IR scene in the switch bot app be transferred to a HomeKit scene?
No, not yet.
If I add a “dumb” device to Switchbot by learning infrared remote signals, how do I then that new device to appear inside Apple home app?
That can't happen. It's not able to share IR devices through the Matter bridge. Just a few SwitchBot products so far.
@@TechYourLife1 thanks for your reply. I’m disappointed. There doesn’t seem to be a single product on the market for HomeKit that can learn an infrared come in and repeat it.
can I have more then 1 mobile device to control or receive the alart?
Absolutely
Can we turn off the led on the device?
Everything can be turned off and turns on only when controlled
What the heck, I got a fold out that says it a manual (and printed backwards, cover is on the back) but it has NOTHING about setup. It's just disclaimer, warrantee info and such.
Good think you got this :)
