Two important details for this song. The first is that it's actually mirrored thematically by another song on the soundtrack that you hear earlier in the game, "And Then Is Heard No More". Both involve characters going through something very similar, but reacting in very different ways. Both are even bosses who focus on extreme amounts of burn status. In a way, this is a triumphant reprise of that song, as strange as it is to say. Second, this is actually the theme for the third fight against the character this theme is tied to, after she has lost absolutely everything. Even going into the fight, she's heavily wounded, and being propelled by sheer determination alone. You have done more damage to her than most people can even survive before the theme even kicks off, and she's bleeding from the mouth and everything. She knows she's going to die, that everyone else with her is already dead, that there is no hope left. She's a dead woman walking by the time this theme kicks off, and she is taking you down with her using her heroic second wind, even if it kills her. It's not desperation either, just raw determination. Determination, and enough fire to raze the entire library to the ground.
Iron Lotus is the theme for a boss in the game Library of Ruina. Obviously, it's heavily inspired by Chinese Mythology (all of the boss' moves are named after the Nine Children of the Dragon), and the battlefield is even the Great Wall of China on fire. They went with that music video probably because the boss is on the penultimate chapter of the game, so lategame spoilers, and her segment ties into a lot of key reveals in the game.
I love watching TH-camrs getting roped into this stupid rabbit hole of a game series. It’s like stepping one toe into a pool and immediately yanking it back out as you realize it’s as deep as the Mariana Trench and they don’t want to go through the necessary two years to understand the context.
poor tragedy of a song even hailed as someone of high regard she was still an ordinary person that has a lover yet her lover left the mortal plane and her rage went to the ones that took him away from her in the end of the song is her last moments before the very people that took her lover down will do the same to her at least from my perspective
You absolutely gotta check out Milis album To Kill A Living Book. Its their album released alongside the game this song (along with String Theocracy) is from and the album includes every song they made doe the game, and they're all absolutely amazing. Id specifically recommend Poems Of A Machine. Its the end credit song and the counterpart to String Theocracy. Its also my personal fav track in the game!
Ah yes, the MV that give me a cute mascot doing some twerking move while my nugget suffering with high stack of burn Actually, the character for this bgm got ironic story in game
Late, but that “flute” instrument is actually an erhu, a single-stringed Chinese instrument. It’s also one of my favorite instruments, particularly in the soundtrack of Houseki no Kuni.
trash visuals/clip... it really hits hard only as a boos OST. When you face a warrior in fight and this ost starts and you are in fire and et cetera. IMHO
Check out all reactions 😊 :

The title is a bit confusing, Library of Ruina is the game and Iron lotus is the name of the song for one boss
