Today we lost Christine. Which means we lost FM . The most important 5 from the late 70s will never perform together again. I never got to see them in concert....( yes, I know there were others before and after but the true sound of the 5 together could never be forgotten nor replaced nor replicated. ) Goodbye to a big piece of my younger most happy years . You are so correct. We lost Fleetwood Mac the day Christine mcvie perfect passed away. She was the glue that held Fleetwood Mac together. An era is gone and I am so very SAD. Of course she is with Jesus,how could you ever think different. She gave this world a gift. An songbird is like a prayer. I love Christine mcvie perfect. My generation is dieing off.

I totally feel you 😢. I was in denial for a while but its true. Although I'm a diehard Stevie fan, the version of FM without Chris could never compare to all five of them together. She quietly brought so much the group. I never got to see them all together either, and it is now one of my deepest regrets.
RIP Christine McVie. Love to the band and her close ones. It's definitely one of an artist that's difficult to let go. I've grown to love music through Fleetwood Mac like many of you out there i suppose, amongst other bands of the 70's that we like to think will be here forever...but no one can. Life is fragile. Protect it. Enjoy it. Love your close ones as long and as much as they're all here in this world. Make tomorrow today.

One of the best concerts I ever saw was them at the old Boston Garden in the late 1990's and Songbird was the very last song that was sung. So my emotion was put into the song that the vast majority of the people there including myself had tears in our eyes. after the song was done Christine McVie thanked all of Boston for their support over the years.

Listened to them back in the 70's when my parents had their 8 track :) Loved them then and still LOVE them now!!! This song in particular brings back so many good memories and I cry every time I hear it...especially when I sing it to my 5yr old son. Brilliant.

As far as beautiful it is the Most beautiful song off the greatest record ever made. IMO the two best songs off of Rumours were Songbird and The Chain in either order.

RUMOURS is such a great album but unfortunately at the expense of all their relationships. Album was made of all their marriage and romantic turmoils and some songs like Stevie and Lindsey taking pot shots at one another and yet the world loved this album and made it a diamond !! Noting the album took a year and was done with drugs, fighting and mixed because some couldn't stand to be in same room. It's amazing it became a master piece for them ! Can't imagine life as a member doing this album.
MACs best selling album of all time putting them all over on the music charts ! 42 years young !

A couple of years ago I burned a CD of her songs from Fleetwood Mac and from her solo albums. I have not done that of either Stevie's or Lindsey's.
I am professional singer/pianist. I perform Songbird. A few minutes ago, I found out from my good friend that she does a Hula routine to Songbird. I suggested she and I team up and perform it, in Christine's honor.
