I was just training this last night in AC. Learned a ton about just how fine I need to control the throttle. And of course you make a video about it this morning. Lol. Great vid!
Appreciate your videos alot!! im still not any good but your videos have given me a much better direction for becoming halfway decent at landing more shots!
Thanks for this new video A1! I suppose that this is the same on strafing thrusters. Depending of the target there is probably some subtleties in the way you manage that, I mean in order to assist the aiming... Correct? Seen you soon and take care everyone!
Is my understanding on this correct? Coupled is "ship vector control" (tries to auto-correct the movement to your new pointed direction) De-coupled is thrust vector control. I have it in my head that coupled is closest to what most of us have learned to use in sims - plus the 5th and 6th degree of movement; Decoupled then requires an acceptance that every vector has to be manually managed in space and with gravity/aerodynamics on planet.... so just a different way of flying? I initially thought you were decoupled in your videos as you are moving in all 6 degrees ... but watching more I realise you keep your ship in a very controlled state and really move with the existing energy not against it which means the ham fisted coupled AI isn't really working hard.
Live your videos and they are great for dog fights. It would be great if you had some advice for haulers and such on ways to evade and escape from more nimble attackers.
At 4:20 you say you are strafing down and to the left, (your ship is moving that direction) but it looks like the thrust being applied is actually up and to the right on the g-force indicator. So you basically want to set up the circle to be moving down and to the left but control that with the opposite thrust?
I'm drifting from that direction, if you pushed down and too the left my vector will be top right, but ultamitly it's relative to the fighter your fighting
Awesome! That answered my question! :) So I do have pedals and all these years I never bothered to use them, but I think I should give them a try! Just so that I can understand your set up Avenger, here appart from pedals are you using duals sticks too?
I took your advice about more seat time, I watched my own videos and noticed I am heave on the forward thrust , hey how can I contact you for 1 on 1 private lessons if possible
An honest question! You always seem to fly in coupled mode. Most other youtubers decouple fairly often in dogfighting. Do you sometimes decouple in some cases? or do you consider it a bad practice in a fight?
So much desync in that first Vanguard engagement. His nose is pointing off at Alpha Centauri and your shields are dropping. Really wish CIG would put a little more effort into fixing this. Fighting ghosts of each other...

Exactly what I'm struggling with, I overshoot constantly. Thanks for making a video about it !

Perfect Circle. Great band.

I put throttle on foot pedal… never could do it before.
Good to see another daily video. Keep up the good work A1.
Another great video. A couple gems here for me. Big help, thank you!

Vanguard pilot didn't even raise the landing gear.
Dude. I love these videos. Do you have your arrow and gladius builds? I need a goal to shoot towards
Standard glad and arrow cept I'm running laser repeaters

Come too stream and hit !specs and yes I'm duel sticks
@@Avenger__One awesome! will do man, thank you!
Aaaand this is one of the reasons why I'm always nervous to visit PO....
Was much needed thank u
Have you tweaked your Control Curves, Avenger? Do you use the Virpil Software much or do you use other joystick software?
No and standard curve
i have still so much to learn i feel bad to be this bad T,T
I am lead foot, found at on my own yesterday lmfao
Very educational Thanks alot!

Just join discord
Thanks for these tips !
This is absolutely what I am struggling with right now.
@Avenger_one can you teach me in person how to play SC
Discord is always open brother
An honest question!
You always seem to fly in coupled mode. Most other youtubers decouple fairly often in dogfighting.
Do you sometimes decouple in some cases? or do you consider it a bad practice in a fight?
I just prefer coupled and never needed to decouple
In coupled mode you're never "off the throttle"
Watch the "THR" bar on the left side of the HUD :)
@@LowflytilIDie I think of it as fly by wire (ship vector control) while decoupled is vector thrust control;
currently i have my main combat ship outfitted with attrition 3, are panthers better then the attritions?
I have leadfoot, thanks for this
so when you say no throttle, since you're coupled, what's actually happening? i play decoupled, should i be counterthrusting?
My ship is decelerating back to 0
@J yes
@@Avenger__One Does coupled apply break or country thrust or both?
Real question: Arrow or Gladius? I own both. Which would you say concentrate on?
Talon😉 lol just joking I would have a Gladius or Arrow too if I could
Glad but one day you will become zn expert and the arrow will call you
@@Avenger__One zn?
@@NightBlade58 he typoed ‘an’
Good tips but I’m curious how you’re able to hit the other ship without having your cursor in the other ship’s box?
that's a recommended but you can hit around and still hit it, this is even truer for bigger ships.
Lag pips my dude
Nice vid!
Do you think that stealth is currently worth the investment in the PU?
Not yet but it will in the future
What are you using to control the throttle? Rudder peddles?
ahh so why is your target flying with his landing gear down? Was this on purpose to give you an ez target for the training?
Good video
