Awesome, just Awesome. I always love the way that one block with a bit of a change can become a whole new quilt

I totally agree, sometimes the simplest of changes can make a whole different piece of art. Thanks for watching!

Ooh Tom so controversial 😆 I came from garment making so did press my seams open; then was told it was wrong and got told all the stuff about an open seam is weaker, but you're right there is more pressure on garment seams than there a likely to be on a quilt. I did think you could top the second quilt example then fell in love with the third quilt - it is beautiful and so effective. Thanks for a very thorough walk through making a ribbon star block - can't wait to get started.

I know, I'll need to watch out for the quilting police ;-) When you think like that about the pressure on garment seams - it does make sense that they can be open and be absolutely fine. I know, number 3 is fab, I'm just sizing up fabric to order, WHOOPS HAHAH

To help seams go through your machine easier, try a stiletto. Saves fingers and really assists!

Beautiful block, lots of seams I do press open when there’s a lot of seams to help with the bulk
