I loved getting to see the Boulevard in action!! We have a One4Life that we love but as we plan for baby #2 this slimmer seat is appealing! We have a ways to go rear facing, but it helps to see the next stage of installation. Thank you!
I never tighten the tether strap until the very end, but I do hook it to the mount. You are saying just to hang it over the seat. I haven't had any problems doing it the way I've been doing it. However, I guess I've been doing it wrong. It's a good thing I watch your videos.
This is so helpful as it is now time for us to switch to forward facing. What do we do with the extra slack of that strap that’s hanging over the seat after you tightened the top teather?
I was trying to understand why Britax said NOT to use the seat anchors for kids over 35-40 lbs. Indirectly you may have answered my question, but I'd still like to know explicitly why not. I do understand that the car seat belt will hold in place, but why not double up? Thanks for video!
Lower anchors have a max weight limit of 65 pounds (which includes the car seat and the child together). Using both together affects how the car seat performs in a crash.
The headrest adjusts with the harness. For forward-facing, the harness should be at or just above the shoulders. The headrest will go wherever. The child's ears just have to be completely contained within the headrest.
Is it not advised to lock the seatbelt? I know you don’t have to, but we have been locking it (taking an unnecessary step). Does the extra step compromise safety with this seat?
The Clicktight panel works as a lock-off so there is no need to. But you can lock it to prevent strangulation with the seat belt if the child tends to mess with it.
In forward facing position can the carseat be reclined on the go while driving or do we have to uninstall the seat, set the recline and then install the seat again?
You have to uninstall the seat to change the recline. The only seats that have on the go recline would be the 360 swivel seats like Evenflo Revolve, Nuna Revv, and Maxi Cosi Emme.
There are 2 straps on the back on mine as well. One is stored in the back of the upright seat portion. The other is attached to the bottom base. What do you do with it?
So I don’t have to really pull the belt tight before closing the seat? I kind of tightened it a lot and had trouble closing the seat to get it to click.
I’m about to switch my son to forward facing but all of the videos I have seen in regards to the tether show a seat with an open trunk. I have an accord and my anchor is directly behind the headrest on top of the back dashboard so I can’t get into trunk and tighten the tether. It’s kind of wedged between the carseat and the back of the seat bc I can’t loop it behind the seat like most cars. It also makes it really hard to tighten the extra slack from the tether. Any tips on how to tighten and prevent the excess from being wedged in between the carseat and the seat?
Uninstall the seat, loosen the top tether and lay it on top of the car seat so that it doesn't get trapped between the car seat and the vehicle seat. Attach the tether and tighten it quite a bit. Install the seat and then finish tightening the top tether.
I have a Peugeot Station wagon that does not have a top tether anchor - only a cargo anchor in the corner (like the one you pointed to in the video. Can I use that?
No. It's not made to withstand crash forces. If your vehicle from US and is made after 2002, it has top tethers somewhere. Double check your vehicle owner's manual. Without top tethers, it's recommended to rear face as long as possible in a seat that has 50 lbs/49" rear-facing limits like Graco Extend2Fit (which will last most kids to 5 or 6) and then move the child straight into a high back booster.
Hey, I’m about to flip my son forward facing in our f150 truck. It has loops for the top tether that you feed through and hook to the loop in the adjacent seat. Is this compatible with the v shaped top tether as long as slack is removed?
We just flipped my son FF due to hitting 40#. What if the vehicle headrest pushes the head of the carseat forward? (we had to pull it up to get the harness fit right). We have a 2016 RAV 4 & we couldn’t find in the manual that we could take the head rest out.
If the headrest is removable, take it off. If it's not removable, contact Britax. They have video chats and can let you know if it's compatible forward-facing.
A great video for grandparents who try to install these newer car seats!
Glad you found the video helpful!
This was extremely helpful. Thank you so much. Our son turned 3 today so flipped from rear facing to front!
Thanks for watching!

As long as you don't tighten it before installing, your way is fine too!
After you get it set up, should you pull the seat belt out til it locks? Or just leave it?
There's no need to do that with this seat. The ClickTight mechanism is locking the seat belt in place already

You just leave it, or you can use a rubber band to wrap the excess.

Amazing 👏🏾 Thank you 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Any plans to add videos for forward facing seats in pick up trucks?
I have one here: instagram.com/reel/Ctt2n-4OoUA/
What is the proper position for the car seat headrest? Should it be all the way up or aligned with my child’s head?
The headrest adjusts with the harness. For forward-facing, the harness should be at or just above the shoulders. The headrest will go wherever. The child's ears just have to be completely contained within the headrest.

What is the anchor in the back bottom of the seat for? In what situation would we use it?
It's for forward-facing mode. It's the top tether.

Just remove a little bit of slack. The clicktight panel removes a lot of the slack for you.

En dinde debe estar el nivel asi en esa posición?? Para un bebe de 8 meses
Cuando el niño puede sentarse sin ayuda, cualquier nivel está bien siempre que la burbuja del lateral esté dentro de los límites permitidos.

❤
I thought with Britax you cannot keep the car headrest in?
Depends on the headrest design. You can definitely remove the headrest if it comes off and you want to
Where is the harnessing video?
Harnessing remains the same for each seat, so I don't have specific harnessing videos for each seat.
