Great video! I’m the odd one out as I love streetlites! Especially with the Cummins euro 5. Travel on them with D&G in Crewe every day and I love them. I’d even go as far to say they are my favourite bus! Fantastic video :)

@@dane2YT Can confirm, happens all the time. Sometimes it will let the revs redline then dump itself into a random gear, meaning you get a horrible jolt forward

I was on a First Cymru Streetlite when we had the really bad ice almost crashed into a wall when the backend decided to slide out and yeah. I rather the Marshal darts to be honest..

Gearbox/retarder tends to be very jerky, cab layout isn’t the best, dashboard information isn’t no where near detailed as the Volvo dash, engines tend to be sluggish setting off list goes on and on

they are 4cyl ones, sound alright when being revved, some of the first ones are 6cyl i believe, but it makes no difference in power cos the bloody gearbox changes up wayy too early, causing it to lurch about, panels to rattle, and acceleration to pretty much die whilst the turbocharger spools up to get some torque in.. useless buses, give it an allison and it'll be a bit better
Now don’t get me wrong there not all bad there’s a few that surprise me, my hate is just the driver controls it’s no where near as good as the likes of the b7 layout. I do like the hybrid versions just because the takeoff is much better. Maybe in time I’ll like then but for now my heart sinks every time I’m given one 😂
That Yorkshire Bus Driver I feel that Wright have rushed into making integral chassis to rival ADL & Optare I feel that the build quality has been sacrificed compared with the classic Wright bodies from the 90s the modern Wright bodies are a step down
Well it’s a Cummins one, better than a Merc one that shakes your spine, then there’s the StreetDecks which are twice the weight I guess but half the power😂
Streetlites were so bad that all of them except the Daimler engined ones which are loads better were recalled under warranty and the gearboxes got reprogrammed so they stopped moving at snail's pace when pulling away from a stand still.
These aren’t the best buses. They are very rattly for a 2015/16 bus. The older Volvo B9TLs we have in Essex which are 2012s are not that rattly compares to the streetlites.
they were never liked shaun, by most drivers,passengers & engineering staff think they just bit the bullet to get rid while they were worth a decent price & standardise the fleet in 1 go,only 5 years old I think,benefits of working for the only nationalised bus operator is the British Isles.

It's actually an up change, It's the bus failing to get into gear, happens to all of them, terrible buses.

They are too small for the x78 That route should have deckers on it. There a comfortable ride for the passenger I feel but no good for busy routes

As someone who has never driven a streetshite, sorry streetlite. Can you tell me why drivers hate them so much?

Yes, it’s the same engine and same gearbox as an Enviro200 Cummins with a Voith Gearbox
20+ yr old buses have less squeaks and rattles than these and the Voith gearbox lets not go there. If only Wright offered the Allison instead.
