My weirdest synthesizer: the SISMO Qadrox

- One of my favourite weirdo synthesizers is the Qadrox from SISMO. It's a rather strangely beautiful, unstable noise machine, and in many ways it's pretty difficult to work with. It's atonal, kind of unpredictable, and screechy. But... throw in a reverb or some other effects and you can get some really quite unique and eery sounds that can form the basis of (or add to) other bits of music. They still make devices that you can get from Etsy:

I just love sysmo so much even if I don't totally understand their machines' work flow but maybe this is the interesting thing!

I think my nearest equivalent to this would be the Technomage Little Infinite Frequency Expander. One of those odd instruments that can sometimes surprise you with what it can do.

@@StephenMcLeod I think that they are pretty rare. I was given mine years ago by a mate who'd bought it because Richard Ashcroft had one.

@@StephenMcLeod Aye. His loss, my gain. I've used it on at least one track on every Hyberus album; but weirdly I don't think I've used it on any of my solo recordings.

@@StephenMcLeod it powered up but wouldn’t make any sound, I opened it up. Half the wires were cut inside.

@@Leviathan-mj8gi I didn’t even think of that, I had bought mine off reverb. Was super excited to try it out, then was super disappointed when I got it. I ended up giving it away in a trade, the person I traded it to fixed it. I have very little knowledge about how to fix that kinda stuff.
