It will say it is in like new condition, but then I find loose buttons, a small hole, the insole coming off, and stuff like that. For the most part I didn't mind those issues but would have wanted that disclosed to me.
I'm a little confused, did some of these "retail prices" not seem suspiciously high to you? Some quick searches online and you could have easily seen that some of the Zara and especially the Shein prices were significantly exaggerated
Rachel Herring I jumped on the app and found it right away. It can be purchased in 5 different colors.. and new, it’s a whopping $7.00 (and that’s not a sale price.. that’s just the price.) Wish I could share a screeneshot for reference. I literally despise thredup for this exact reason.. I made a way too long rant on a different video already so I’ll end it here.
Michelle Sanchez Yes! Exactly! Every haul I’ve ever watched just up talks them so much and never brings attention to the inflated “original” prices quoted. It doesn’t take long to look up a piece and see if it makes sense. Not everything will be able to be found but I actually followed along to a haul once and quoted every single price of the pieces and they all came in $10-$35 CHEAPER than the price THREDup claimed. Not to mention.. some pieces were still more expensive to purchase than if you got it new. If she was to get that top from Shein it’d be $7. From thredup they’re still charging more at $10. It’s insane. And I’m not going to get into the whole ethical/sustainable vs purchasing from fast fashion directly. Just stating pricing facts. :)

You're probably right, because this is the cutest goody box I've seen. I've tried the goody boxes three times and I only purchased two items out of the 3 boxes. Personally, I think they get the styling and sizing wrong.
Agree 100% I'm never had good stuff come from thredup and it's way too overpriced. I love watching stripping videos but if the person is talking about how they got a fright at box and it's sponsored I usually just click off because I know it's all bull crap. No offense to Alexa
They also lie about the quality of items. I’ve ordered a lot of items that were labeled as “you might mistake as new” and they clearly had signs of wear... they’re kind of scamming people and seem so money-hungry. Everything about ThredUp is kind of shady...
I don't think you've done this yet, but you should do some Goodwill online auctions! You can actually get really good deals if you hit it at the right time. When I absolutely couldn't stand not thrifting anymore, I went on there and grabbed a couple Fossil purses for only like $8. Currently in a bidding war for a Levi's denim jacket.
@@susanma4899 to be fair, that's the case with anything. You just have to pay attention to where the auction item is from. Even still, you can get brand new, NWT items for waaay less than original price, and still be shopping secondhand and staying safe.

I was disappointed with several searches because I'm simply not paying that much shipping for extremely lightweight items, but I did finally find items I loved from stores with shipping that was very reasonable. I think one that was good for me might have been the San Francisco store.

I love my local thrift store. I lost 100 lbs and I need new clothes. I was able to get great clothes for under $120 and I was able to experiment with stuff I would never have worn at a larger size.

We have also one here in Germany and I have found amazing items - but it definitely took away a few hours from my life I won’t get back 🙈

And often it's used to justify why they don't re-donate clothes...which if you are donating clothes that are quality and trendy enough to be sold on poshmark, there is no way they wouldn't be sold in a thrift store.

I have been buying about 12 to 20 items a month from thredup for months now. Lost a lot of wt and while I have a lot more to go I finally decided it was time for a near complete wardrobe replacement. But, I always double check price comparisons and am usually happy with what I find or the price I pay still makes me happy. I primarily create a favorite list of what I'm looking for (as well as save some searching for lists) and then shop it during sales and when they go into the outlet pricing. I will pay more for shoes maybe up to $22 for an excellent brand but usually less than $12(preferably less than $7) for anything else. If someone beats me to something fine, I'll find a replacement and try again or check out the outlet section to see if I missed anything that fits into my list. I actually would like to find more Banana Republic 🤗 tho! I'm decades older than you and lived for their catalogs way (way) back because they were so fun, not that I could afford them. I'm just too picky and controlling on what I want to add to my clothes to order a mystery or "curated" box from anyone. Pulling out a brand like Shein would have turned me rabid! I did want to order a jewelry bundle when they had them tho and now can't even see more than a handful of items when I search from their main page. You looked great in everything tho and i actually thought both ways you styled the skirt was great.

I have been buying about 12 to 20 items a month from thredup for months now. Lost a lot of wt and while I have a lot more to go I finally decided it was time for a near complete wardrobe replacement. But, I always double check price comparisons and am usually happy with what I find or the price I pay still makes me happy. I primarily create a favorite list of what I'm looking for (as well as save some searching for lists) and then shop it during sales and when they go into the outlet pricing. I will pay more for shoes maybe up to $22 for an excellent brand but usually less than $12(preferably less than $7) for anything else. If someone beats me to something fine, I'll find a replacement and try again or check out the outlet section to see if I missed anything that fits into my list. I actually would like to find more Banana Republic 🤗 tho! I'm decades older than you and lived for their catalogs way (way) back because they were so fun, not that I could afford them. I'm just too picky and controlling on what I want to add to my clothes to order a mystery or "curated" box from anyone. Pulling out a brand like Shein would have turned me rabid! I did want to order a jewelry bundle when they had them tho and now can't even see more than a handful of items when I search from their main page. You looked great in everything tho and i actually thought both ways you styled the skirt was great.
I would've put the green top with the multicoloured skirt and a pair of doc's, that could have been cool.
