As an American railroad enthusiast (and the great-great-grandson of a 19th-century railroader), I always wondered if it really was possible to make a knife out of an old railroad spike. This video answered that question with a resounding YES. I am quite impressed... and I just subscribed.
🔥 Thank you so much for your comment! It's awesome to hear from a fellow railroad enthusiast and the descendant of a railroader! 🚂 I'm thrilled that you found the video informative and inspiring. Making knives from old railroad spikes is definitely possible, and it's always a rewarding challenge. 🔪 Welcome to the subscriber family! 🎉 Let me know if there are any other projects you'd like to see in the future.

Thanks a ton! I'm thrilled you like the RR spike and the textured handle idea! Your support keeps me forging ahead. Keep watching, and I'll keep pounding! 👋🏼🔨🔥👍🏼
Hmmm! Homemade all purpose cutter from industrial motor. Primitive forge looks like hole in the ground. All purpose ancient steel table. Start the morning sorting scrap metal. Measure with a paint marked flat left over or found piece of metal. Free hand draw with paint marker. Drench in what looks like used motor oil. Make something out of nothing. No belts sander needed. Looks like every move is effortless. A poet with metal and wood!
Thank you so much! 😊 I'm glad you liked the knife and the handle design! It means a lot to hear positive feedback from subscribers like you! If you have any other suggestions or ideas for future projects, feel free to let me know! 🔪🔨
🔨 Thank you so much for your kind words! 🙌 It's always a pleasure to share the craft of blacksmithing with you all. 💪 There's something truly special about creating things by hand the old-fashioned way. Glad you enjoyed the video! 🔥👨🏭
How important is it to make a knife from a railroad nail, a horseshoe, a ball bearing or a church hinge? You heat and shape the iron in the fire, but the result is always an imitation of the previous one. There is no new style, no creativity, you just produce ordinary and ordinary looking kitchen knives.
Hey there! 🔥 Thanks for your comment and sharing your thoughts! 😊 Making knives from unconventional materials like railroad nails, horseshoes, ball bearings, or church hinges can be a fun challenge, but you're absolutely right that it can sometimes lead to similar-looking results. 🔨 While it's true that these materials might limit some aspects of creativity, there's still plenty of room to innovate and add your unique touch! ✨ As a blacksmith, I'm always exploring new techniques and designs to create something fresh and exciting. Stay tuned for more diverse creations! 🌟 🙌🔥

🔥🔨 Thanks for your comment! 😊 Tempering iron is actually a crucial step in the blacksmithing process! 🔧💪 It helps balance the hardness and toughness of the metal, making it more durable and less brittle. 🔨💥 So, while it might seem counterintuitive, tempering is essential for creating strong and reliable tools! 😉🔥 🛠️🔥

Əllərinə sağlıq çox Super 👍👍👍
Təşəkkürlər👍👍👍
How long do they keep their edge? It isn't high carbon steel.
