- This in my opinion amazing and well made production shows some of the effort put down into the XJ40-project by Jaguar Cars.
This film is split into three parts. Total playtime approx 25 min.
Part 1/3
Part 2
• Jaguar XJ40 - THE LEGE...
Part 3
• Jaguar XJ40 - THE LEGE...
I have an x300. and have to say its the nicest car of that era ive ever driven... it feels modern still!
Yes, I have also got an X300 and it's by far the best car I've ever had.
I have the Daimler six x300 and its reliable and always gets wherever i need it to.
@@ravinderblackmore I still have mine! I’m doing a head gasket swap on my channel if that is of interest to you! Also doing some other work on it in the future :) subscribe! :)
It's awesome and so elegant...!
Thank you very much for sharing
Bought my first car this week a -92 jaguar XJ40 sovereign 4.0 and I love it :)
nice video i been looking all over and amazing XJS-Based XJ40 Prototypes
It's a very interesting footage. I like Jaguars in this body, especially with V12 :)
Back when Jaguar made beautiful cars.
I got a '82 series 3 XJ6 I love my jaguar
I got a 94 Vanden Plas XJ40 and I love it!

greetings
Beautiful
Interesting that whilst those "flying buttresses" on the prototype didn't make it on to the production model, but did make it on to the XJS!
Wonderful!!! One car what i have is Damler XJ40 4.0 -90
Do u guys perfer the x300 or xj40
They still had bad interior trim and rusting issues. In terms of reliability a Lexus LS 400 was far better although these Jaguars had such character and soul. To add to the driving experience those old Jags drove as smooth as a magic carpet.
I bet the driver was sweating like crazy in the desert with the Lucas electric air conditioning system. But I am sure the engine was nice and warm during the winter driving, so plenty of heat.
I prefer the round headlights and rather like the flying buttresses at the rear window.
@DCLT05, I think it's early 80's
What year is this from?
All that testing and they crap their pants when you leave the showroom
@DCLT05 i think 87/88... there isn't the 4.0 litres (i think!! :D )
I had one and it was nice except for the gas pump going out and poor quality plastic dashboard that bent from heat. Otherwise, smooth and safe as a tank.
Well... the XJS had them cause it was supposed to be mid engined... I have no idea why they put them on these pre production XJ40s. Possibly to make the XJS and the XJ6 look similar... but obviously they didnt like it so threw it out.
Look at 0:20 theres a Series1 XJ6!!
My 88 has 400,000km still goes strong, reliable and economically. Looks a bit tatty tho.
I would have to disagree, but i agree with Lexus'ses
Lexus LS400
They were put on simply to disguise the car- that's all
Amelican cities
I would be bored driving a Japanese car, too vanilla, no soul.
Agreed, with the exception of the Honda Legend and the LS 400.
