  • Black Eyed Girls | Katie Hims | Radio Drama
Nell finds herself pregnant and marries Barry, not the father, for the sake of respectability. She has twin girls, Jeanie and Meg, and has a blissful first year raising her daughters. But Barry takes an instant dislike to the girls, twin black-eyed girls. They are separated at the age of five, one to stay at home, in a working class family in Scarborough, one to be adopted from a children's home by an upper middle class academic family. And thus their separate fortunes are set in motion, united only by the vaguest memory of being happy together. Their search for each other continues throughout their lives...

So sad. Could have throttled the nuns, Barry and Joseph. No doubt happened in real life too often.

Ok, I need everyone's help. I''m looking for a radio play that I listened to several years ago. It was a relatively contemporary play about a woman and a man stuck in a lift (elevator). It was more of a comedy and a drama. It was a British play, and the characters had accents that sounded like the were from Lancashire or Yorkshire. The young woman who was stuck in the lift was either a hairdresser or on her way to a hairdresser's appointment. Her incessant chatter started to drive the young man mental...LOL. It could have been a Katie Hims play or a similar British contemporary of her. I've searched and searched and I now can't find it. Can anyone help?

So angry for the way we children and women are treated by some tyrants, for our powerlessness and victim hood in the wake of some evil authoritarian processes and persons!!

I’m so angry about how children and people, regardless of gender, are mistreated by some tyrants (Of which some can be male or female), feeling helpless and victimized by brutal authoritarian actions and individuals!
Just switching it up a bit, but I know it’s fashionable to make it about women being victims.

@@lindamarieskind6787No you didn't. You specifically said children and women. Men have had equally hard lives and less support than any other group of people. They do all the hard jobs, fight and die for us in wars, and get no thanks from todays feminists women who think they should be served hand and foot while providing nothing back to family or society. Women have destroyed our society and are too stupid to realize it.
