Sometimes they flirted with perfection. Maurice’s soaring tenor, Philip’s ridiculous falsetto and Verdine knocking fire from his bass. A musical holiday🎼🔥
Maurice White and Philip Bailey left their fingerprints all over the sound of the 1970s. Musical geniuses. This band crossed all lines, all demographics,. I can still hear their voices wafting through my bedroom in suburban boston in the 70s and dancing around my room with the door closed.
All during through those wonderful years Earth Wind and Fire consistently made beautiful hit songs back-to-back-to-back... Not just music alone, those lyrics. "Would you mind, if I looked into your eyes 'til I'm hypnotized"
If you are not familiar with it, you might also enjoy Earth, Wind and Fire's awesome song "Fantasy." And I also highly recommend the R&B dance bop "Fantastic Voyage" by Lakeside. We used to rush the dance floor back in the day when we heard it start playing. I recommend the longer album version with more verses and instrumental solos that's 6 minutes, 45 minutes long (as opposed to the shorter radio version).
Shout out to the ppl who regularly call this “Would You Mind”. 😂 Baby E will remember this song when Breezy’s son Aeko samples “Love’s Holiday” in 2044. 😉
R&B smooth groove classic ‼️ I think that you are referring to Phillip Bailey and the song Easy Lover with Phil Collins. When BANDS ruled. This is my uncle’s jam, he does the air guitar to this🤣.
That is Philip Bailey, but Phil Collins did sing the song you said, but Philip Bailey is a black dude, and Phil Collins in a white dude who use to sing in a group called Genisis.

The background vocals are Maurice White; who’s also on lead, Verdine White, Phillip Bailey and the rest of the band.
