vernadine white said it best. Man it was our first album we were out in beautiful Colorado at the Caribou ranch studios where Chicago did a lot of their recording. Next thing you know it came time for the photo shoot for this album and we standing up on the mountain half-dressed freezing our asses off. 🤣🤣 He said we felt cold being from Chicago but we never felt COLD!!
Empress, this is my fav cut from my fave group. Check out these other funky cuts by them. "Magic Mind", "Shining Star", "In the Stone", "Time is in your Side ". BTW, luv your podcast. Keep it up !
Mighty Mighty!! Nice! Let the funk flow free! I'm so glad to have seen EW&F in concert, even if it was almost twenty years after their hey day. They were great. Everybody was dancing. I had a blast. Maurice White, RIP. PS. If you're looking for old school EW&F fire bops, check out "Shining Star" and "Fantasy".
So you're definitely trippin'. This is when I realized that I was a true EWF fan. This song was a house party dance special and this is the first of their albums I remember in house. Different strokes, guess you had to be there.
I like the lyrics. The message. But if you want to hear some of early songs. Try listening to: "Keep Your Head To The Sky" "Evil" Those were the first two Earth Wind and Fire songs I had heard on the radio. They were a first class band in 1973. And they are still good today, Empress. If you want to see for yourself, go to their concert. They still love to play music.
If this song doesn't make you Groove you have no pulse. Some of the best musicians to ever pick up an instrument hands down!
I LOVE this song!
The bassline never gets old❤

So they had a good run !
EWF always sounds so good, so much talent, and yes, so many different sounds.
Read the lyrics to the song, and you'll see just how funky and deep it is. 👊🏽
This song is funky funky. It has that EW&F “Element “ sound. It’s 🔥 . Im
