The anime is actually probably not ending because there's still part 7 and 8 that haven't been animated and I also think part 9 starts soon in the manga. But the Joestar storyline ended with part 6. Part 7, 8 and 9 take place in a different universe
For me the best JoJo part is by far, Stone Ocean. I feel like the first batch was a bit slow. Batch 2 made the pacing much better. With batch 3 the plot progressed is such an amazing way, being a culmination of all the 6 parts until now. The ending was perfect and the suspense as good as the biggest highlights in other JoJo parts. Spoilers for Pucci's story will follow: I loved Pucci as an antagonist, I feel like he was the perfect man for the job and what Dio could have been if he didn't care more about trolling people instead of killing them (don't get me wrong I love Dio also). Ruthless when someone stands in the way of his grandiose Heaven Plan and convinced till his last breath and this is the best for humanity. The fact that his Heaven Plan feels more like hell instead of heaven makes the irony of his actions even more interesting. From the start of the story he wants to help the others, but in some of the worst ways possible by being indifferent to the types of people around him, like going to racist people to help him with someone from black parents or helping Dio with his plan, when Dio is pretty evil overall, more like a Devil than anything else.
