I havea 2002 Escalade base 6.0, i never heard of this problem is this a common issue or rare case? Ive already replaced a bunch of common failure parts like sparks, plugs wires, battery, Timing belt etc etc, but never heard of this problem.
It’s a common issue with a lot of vehicles but more of GM, eventually it goes bad. With timing belts, spark plug, cam/crank seals and so on, those are all part maintenance that needs to be done. With so much charcoal built up, it clogs the vapor canisters(charcoal).
I have a 2013 6.2 escalade esv luxury I'm having problems with. Not being able to fill my truck up normally I've changed The Cluster Purge valve It Working and not clogged I replaced it anyway Also change vapor canister vent valve When I go get gas Pump still shuts off, I smell gas it is coming out the filler tube. I don't smell it inside the vehicle I don't have any kind of codes are check engine lights
Thanks for the video. I have 2005 Cadillac Escalade and have changed the vapor canister and the vent valve solenoid. Guess this is the last thing to try. If you did not blow out much out of the lines why do you think causes it to not vent until you used the air compressor?
Charcoal buildups over time will clog it up, I did what you did, replace the canisters and still wouldn’t work, so I decided to just take out the lines and blow whatever’s in the line out, and that helped out a lot.
Love that the kid is out there helping you!
One of the best videos I have seen on TH-cam - Thank you!!!!
this point helps a lot 8:07
Did you have service engine light on from the issue? P0455?
There was no code

Did you change the evap canister and solenoid or just the fuel pump?
Canister and solenoid were both replaced, but issue still there, I did not replace the fuel pump, only blew out the lines, it was full of charcoal.
Excellent 👍🏼
You don't have to take the side shield off.
Good video bro

I’m pretty sure you can used compressed air in a can, but I’m not certain if it will have the same impact as an actual air compressor.
