I have a headcanon that when ever angel is actually starting to enjoy being on stage and getting the hang of things val has to ruin it by saying something that will tear angel down and make him feel controlled again
That's basically what's happening with the relationship. Val will start things one way and angle will get used to it and start enjoying it(ex. Val will let angel be convinced that they're in a relationship and act like it while filming the videos then one day push angel away and tell him that he's just a who're to him, then repeat cycle) It's a common type of abusive relationship and can often characterize people first relationships/a fall back relationship from an abusive relationship.
Angel's job: get used and give pleasure to strangers otherwise get consequences. Hide it all behind a smile while Val gets most of the money from his suffering. Quite suffocating indeed.

I’m going to try doing an animatic on the Valentino song! I can’t get the song out of my head! I have all these visual ideas that could work for it! It’ll take time but that’s how you’ll know it was worth the wait! Animation is a slow process to make it have great quality by taking your time.

I feel like Angel truly does enjoy doing sex work, but working for Valentino makes it very difficult for him to love what he does. I want Angel to continue doing sex work when he gets redeemed because I feel like he probably really loved his job when he first started out. It was probably his sexual liberation in a way because I imagine he was very repressed when he was alive. He finally found something that he takes great pride in for himself, in spite of Val or Henroin. At the very least, I want Angel to get help for his addiction so he can learn to love himself more.
