    I love hearing from the birds. I want to learn all I can about the orchids. They are so beautiful and yet simple. I am just so scared I am going to do something wrong. You make it look so simple yet you are so helpful too. I love your tutorial. Keep them coming. Thank you for all your help.

    Truly Danny. Do not feel the need to apologize for any changes you have made or still feel the need to make...you
    sharing your extensive knowledge with us especially free of charge for those unable to spare anything is so huge. I hope I am speaking for most of your viewers when I share that we are not bothered by any changes you make. The information you give us is so valuable, your gift far exceeds any minor annoyments (think I just made a word!...oops) I think that should be annoyances. Bless you girl. This year I decided to treat myself to any orchid I saw that "called" to me. I'm attempting to entice them to produce keikis so I have some to share as well. Hoping it is safe to use hormones. Many sites encourage it. God bless you and your family. Thank you for all you share.

    I received my first phal. Bellina Fire today and repotted it also. It has a great root system and 1 spike but appeared so root bound that I chose to repot it right away. Hope it was the right thing to do!

    Hi from UK. Can you help, please? I have a slatted 3 tier shelf under west facing window with white walls. Will phals be OK on lower shelves with or without grow lights? Thankyou for your wealth of knowledge ❤

    Hello, Dani. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but I really need some help for my mini Phalaenopsis.
    I'm in a law school dorm and they have a problem with plants on the windowsill (maybe people were growing pot? Who knows).
    Anyway, I love this little plant. I recently transferred it from the 2 inch pot it came in to a three inch pot, and used the chunky Monterey mix (repotme). I wasn't sure if it was appropriate for a 3 inch pot after I bought it, but I used it. This little plant seems to love it! First, I thought it was spiking, but it turns out it is a keiki. THEN, it turned out a spike, which is flourishing now, and it also has lots of new beautiful roots. My window faces north, and Betty (her name!) is on a stand in front of the window (so that I get no complaints).
    The question is: how do I attend to this flurry of activity? Betty only has three leaves (other leaves have grown, turned yellow-brown, and are promptly shedded) other than the keiki. (Oh, she's sprouting another leaf on the primary plant).
    This is a little overwhelming for an amateur. I water her by weight (I can feel when the plant lightens and needs water). I haven't fertilized since I re-potted. She seems very happy, but I want her to flourish and do the right thing. I was thinking of staking the spike with a loose string and small stake to encourage it to arc upwards without damaging it, but I'm not at all sure about any of this.
    Please help. 🙏

    I believe it is just a rare natural pigmentation. I have heard that such pigmentation similar to variegation in Phal bastiannii.

    Does peroxide spray help virus. ?

    • @tim_koch14
      @tim_koch14 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be used to disinfect surfaces, but it can't heal the affected plant because the virus is inside.

      Once its in the plant, no. You can use it as part of tool maintenance to avoid virus, fungi and bacteria spreading plant to plant during repotting and plant care.

    Danny, an admiring note, because you're concerned about your lighting: the quality of your video lighting and editing is a major draw for me. Because of your beautiful lighting and smart editing, your demonstrations are crystal clear and engaging. Personally, I don't think you need to change a thing! But maybe you'll come up with something even better? I'll stay tuned, either way.
