Thanks, this was the clearest, most helpful - I could follow it. All I had left of iMovie in the system files that wouldn't go into the trash was one folder. When I opened It, it was plug ins and sounds. Should I get rid of this and, if so, how? Maybe it's linked to other apps?

What about the "Apple News" app. When I finished the "system files are included" part, I got a real lot of folders and files. Some were even for "Microsoft News" which I am fine with deleting. But with so many files, I can't tell which ones are actually needed and which can be deleted. Thanks

how do you confirm the files belong to the program you are trying to delete? i want to delete a program and 30+ files pop up .... how do i know i am not deleting important system files?

This was EXCELLENT! However, I have already trashed some camera icons/apps and when I go to use a third party conference app it tells me to remove cameras. How do I approach this if I've already deleted those apps (a month ago)? I did not follow your steps above but no longer have the app icon in my lists...help!

I tried to trash Apple TV following your advice. It had about 100 system files and I wasn't able to even put them into Trash. Not even a single one of them. So it didn't work at all. What is the problem here?

Interesting. I do the "system files" directly and not adding the "name > matches". I wanted to uninstall chrome and I noticed that typing chrome and google chrome gives different results. When I do not include the name matches and typing chrome, there are associated files like pdf files and javascript that has diff destination files not directed to chrome. Adding the name>matches and typing chrome seems to remove associated files that I mentioned. It has fewer files though which I hope is more accurate?

You need to do these steps:
FIRST: You need to downgrade the OS X / OS mac version and install on a pendrive and boot it. ()If you want to keep your Volume as a ONE partition.
SECOND: (The most important thing if you have any documents, uplaod to a cloud or pass to an USB, SD, etc.) Connect your pendrive on the mac, restart you mac and put the ATL button to see all the volumes and select the Pendrive Volume that your'e going to install the OS version.
THIRD: Format all the volume to one and now re-install the os version that you put in your pendrive and it's all.
Better search any youtube tutorial video, they're thousands of tutorials. lol

How are you moving it to trash? I have no trash option, even moving it into the trash, Mac needs it!
My application can’t be deleted because it says the Application was locked. Do you know how to unlock an application?
Unfortunately this did not work to completely uninstall McAfee. There’s one stubborn network extension file left that’s running everything and glitching my computer.
I can’t even get the file deleted using the command terminal. I’m so frustrated.

i've tried to delete the files of Microsoft.. some files have been deleted but some of them denied .. how i can delete them?
Yeah so followed steps. All went well. Ended up with 48 files from one app. Selected them all, tried to move to trash, no go. Tried to move them individually, they moved but created a copy in source file. No joy!

Good tutorial as far as it went, however, I had to call Apple help when I couldn't get the app to close so I could delete it. Once he showed me how to force quit to get it to close, everything was finally deleted. Thanks for the rest of the explanation.
