I am going to give The Wedding People a second chance based on your review! I feel like I might have dismissed it early on thinking the bride was a bridezilla type 😢
@@M_is_for_MOh it’s one of my next read ! I hope I will like it as well. My last favourite is Blood Over Bright Haven by M.L. Wang ! I gave it 5 stars. What an incredible book !
Wishing you Happy New Year! Thank you for the company with all those videos at the end of the year. Bet it was quite taxing for you but I hope the scale was tipped your way in the end. Get some rest, get some more inspiration and looking forward to seeing your videos throught 2025! :)
Happy New Year Emily 😃Thank you for all the amazing content this year, it is very much appreciated 💕 glad you had a good reading month to close out the year. The Wedding People is next on my list 🙌
I’m the one who recommended Fiber Fueled to you. I’m so glad you read it! I’m also not plant-based, but even though Dr. B. is, I don’t feel like he pushes the elimination of animal products so much as much as he encourages the addition of more plants in one’s diet. I followed his advice after reading his book, listening to him frequently on The Exam Room Podcast, and following his social media, and my microbiome has really changed. Things work so much better now. 😳 Additionally, if I sort of fall off and don’t eat many plants for a few days, I can really see and feel a difference, and I know how to fix it! Just the concept of plant points has really changed my life for the better, and I love how science-backed Dr. B. is. He can always cite the studies, and if there’s not one, he’ll always say, “I don’t know of any studies looking at this….” Plus, his personality is a gem. Love him.
I read Ember in the Ashes bc of you and now I’m 60% of the way through book 3. It’s SO GOOD - and it gets even better. I’m about to get book 4 bc I’m def finishing it!!
My reading year is ending on a good note too! Who knew a series about dinosaur-shifters being gay and finding boyfriends will get me both out of a reading slump and a mild depression🤣
Not book related, but earlier this year you had to re-pierce your ear and honestly your practicality helped me when I had to do the same last month. Just order the right earring, just push it through (within reason), and done, issue solved!
Cursed Cocktail by S.L Rowland is my last minute favourite. 😂😂 The coziness was perfect for the rainy days here. Its basically Legends & Latte but make its protagonist men.
that's interesting because I also listened to atomic habits as an audio book or better I DNFed the audio book. I don't know which version it was though. I hated it, but for me it wasn't as much the voice, but first of all, that the book at several instances referred to me to the webblog or homepage of the author. "If you want to read more about this go to my homepage". Like no! I want the information here and not just tidbits to make me go research on your homepage (also don't read links to me, what am I supposed to do? memorize them?) Also he spend soooo much time retelling his sobby backstory with an injury and I felt like he was trauma dumping me in the intro to then go, but even though I had to live through these hardships, I prevailed. It felt braggy. So much to say, I felt that it's interesting that you also didn't like the audiobook and I was wondering if I might have liked it more if I read it as a physical book, since I could have flown over the intro and ignored the links.
I loved What Feasts At Night, but to me it was about PTSD. The main character is a sworn soldier who has not had the mental space to deal with the trauma of their war service. That's what struck me about this story.
Mark Twain is someone I wish more people read. He was an Abolishenist and classical satirist. He gets a bad rep because high school English teachers just taught rote vocabulary and not critical thinking and the bepths of his books.
What happened to Far from the Madding Crowd? I forced my way through it, so I don't blame you if you dnfed. I'm in the middle of 2 new releases that are bangers so far! -Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao -North is the Night by Emily Rath
December wasn't great for me. I finished 5 books, two of them 4 stars and three of them 3 stars. I also had plans to read a lot more over the holidays than I ended up doing, which is too bad.
Hello Emily I want to ask if I want to send u a book from my country ? What is your box address ? And don’t worry it is interesting this is my favorite book?😊Can u tell me how I can send it and thanks 😊
I didn’t like god of the woods at all. I rated it 2 stars. I found it slow, boring and more historical than mystery. I also didn’t like the duel timelines and the narrators
Did you find any last minute favorites for 2024??
Yes! The frozen river. 5 stars.

"this is why you should never lose rock paper scissors to choose what you're listening to in a car during the holidays for a trip" hilarious!!
Oooh more books to put on my already monstrous TBR 😂😂 thank you for so many good suggestions ❤️❤️
Happy new year hope you start with a five star again!!

I don’t do much YA anymore either but the Ember in the Ashes was good for me too. I really enjoyed it.
Yay! A new Emily upload! Your videos are so comforting ❤🎉

That’s so good to hear! Everyone seems to have a different opinion on the rest of the series but I guess I’ll find out soon!

That freeze frame atomic habits review. 😂 Sorry you had to listen to the whole thing on a road trip. That’s rough! 😮💨
I totally forgot to mention it… must be the trauma 😅

The Ember in the Ashes books get better and better. Sabaa Tahir has also released a new book in the world Heir.

The Ember in the Ashes is on my TBR for 2025! I really want to pick up The Gods of the Woods too but waiting for it to go on sale 😅
I just got An Ember in the Ashes from Libby - sounds like it has promise!
I loved What Feasts At Night, but to me it was about PTSD. The main character is a sworn soldier who has not had the mental space to deal with the trauma of their war service. That's what struck me about this story.
I read 15 books this month and never again. I like to spend time with other hobbies as well.
The last two books I read were great!! Our Wives Under the Sea and Thirteen Ways to Kill Lulaballe Rock.
My last minute fav was mr. Penumbras 24 hr bookstore.
Mark Twain is someone I wish more people read. He was an Abolishenist and classical satirist. He gets a bad rep because high school English teachers just taught rote vocabulary and not critical thinking and the bepths of his books.
I kinda feel like the wedding people is too superficial 😭 imma give it another try next year
🎉

Atomic Habits audio is read by the author, so Spotify must be using some kind of word to text version 😂
❤️📚🐱
