Awesome video man! Dealing with a asd no activation issue right now. Hate wiring issues and am like a small child when fooling with a meter. I rely on these types of videos for direction. Thanks again for the info.
im working on a 99 laredo and found this shortly after i tracked it down to my asd buzzing. gonna check those fuses and see if thats whats up! thank you so much for the informative video!
Do all the relays slots in the PDC (Power Distribution Center) work in similar way such as ASD you showed in video when it comes too.... which pin is constant power... which one would relay give power only at key of "start/ignition", which one is run power (key switch relay to give it constant 12v) etc...
Ha ha ha, it's my old friend from BullSh*tKorner, now with a more politically appropriate channel name. This one came up in my feed, nice summary of the ASD relay. Glad I found you, again!
Thanks for your video. I have a question that I hope you would consider answering. I have replaced just about everything on my Jeep. ECU, plugs, distributor, coil, sensors, etc. My Jeep runs for 2 seconds then shuts off. Something is telling the ECU to shutdown the ASD. Any thoughts? 98 Wrangler 4.0.
Good evening sir I have been on almost a 3 week long extravaganza on Trying to resolve a asd/pcm issue in my 06 lj. I’ve owned 10’s of tj’s as well as xj’s Cj’s and even Willy’s, as a life long keeper I’m mind blowing from all of my electronic diagnostics. I know this is a long shot but is there any other platform I can shoot you a message on and possibly have you give me a call just to have a few mins of your time. I’m well mechanically backed and in electronics and i’m butting my head after 3 weeks. Literally pulled jeep out of garage and just flopped a few relays just to check ac clutch relay function and just from simply flopping around I ended with a no crank no start no pcm com and asd and related relays are chattering. Great voltage. Full pin out and ground check. Obd2 test and pin out, every sensor 5v to everything and tested all asd related sensors all check good, again at a loss here would be great to get in touch with you just need a good secure way to send you my contact info thank you sir
Is it possible that the ASD relay thinks the 30 Amp ASD fuse has blown and thats why its not giving power to ignition? I was checking fuses when my tail lights were not working, and I pulled the ASD fuse while the jeep was running. I'm dumb move Engine turned off and won't restart, I have been trying everything and nada.
Jeep Cherokee 2006 I bypassed the fuel pump relay 87 to 30 but in the fuel pump wire which is tan/ rd has no voltage reading so what the next step to troubleshoot
Doing Ls swap on 91 yj. The alternator has a green wire the splices to the coil then goes to the ASD. Also has tan wire wire I think is the exciter wire for the alternator. (IE:1 wire hook up). Does the ASD get power from the alternator or grounds out alternator rectifier? Can I eliminate the green wire?
Instead of the resistance check…. If the control wire has 12 volt up to the computer, then you have continuity, so just ground it at that point and the relay will click and you can check asd relay outputs
You're amazing! Lol. Had to subscribe after that video. I was looking for info on 3.7 that shuts down one cylinder. New PCM said nope. Shut that one down again. Of course, new injector and coil pack. Swapped relays. Gonna put the Fluke on tmro. Would love yer input! PO204. 304. 1388 and 89. ASD to follow. Right?? Help!
Hello, very good friend, your videos, I'm just learning English, so it's hard for me to understand. I have a problem in my jeep the fuel system works well I was checking the spark plugs but they only spark the first 5 seconds then they stop pulling for this the car turns off can you help me with some advice please
Quick question BSK, can a jeep tj run without the cat/02 sensor? I removed the cat and 02 sensor on my tj because there was a hole on the exhaust pipe right before the cat causing a leak. I disconnected the o2 sensor plug and left the wire hanging on the jeep and the sensor itself I removed with the cat. It started up (very loud of course) and after driving around the corner it shut off and wouldn't turn on. I checked the fuses and the ASD fuse was blown. Did this possibly happen because the hanging wire shorted out underneath? If I tuck the 02 sensor wire out of the way, should the jeep be able to run with no cat or 02 sensor installed? this is just temporary until the exhaust pipe is fixed. THANKS BSK
Got the same issue. Starter relay. Pull it out. Should be small rectangle and grey. Jumper wire from hot pin to ground. Mine turns over. Got all kinds of codes. U0100 and all kinds of abs, transmission, etc codes.
Hy thanks for your time. I think I'm having the same shit issue. I've to check this realy as i been researching for the past day's to find an answer. I'm getting the following cods p0513 and p00fd. Jeep 18 start and die straight away.
Love the swap, and all the content. I just thought of this today. Did you ever here if the 57 is getting done ? Just wondered if you herd anything after you sold it. Just a thought.
Hey man! 👋 A couple days ago I got home after work, I turned off my 2006 Jeep Wrangler, I went to sleep and the day after I tried to go to work again and the Jeep won’t crank. I already checked fuses, relays, ignition pin actuator, ignition switch, clutch safety switch, starter, battery, and everything is good! I plugged the computer on the OBD II and I don’t even have any codes. When I open the switch all the lights on the dash come up but I don’t hear the fuel pump working which is a little weird. I’m a little desperate here man already because I don’t know what it is. Do you have any idea of what would be my problem? I would appreciate any help buddy! Thank you!!! 🙏
@@TestDontguess hey i found out the fuse for o2 sensor in dead no power any side also 3 more all blues is there a fuesible link i think the car may have jumped started in reverse?
I'm having this issue. Thanks for the instructions. Was about to buy a crank sensor and you saved me 100 bucks so far. Onto the o2 sensor
Awesome video man! Dealing with a asd no activation issue right now. Hate wiring issues and am like a small child when fooling with a meter. I rely on these types of videos for direction. Thanks again for the info.
The negative wire from relay to PCM works fine, thanks for your wonderful video
im working on a 99 laredo and found this shortly after i tracked it down to my asd buzzing. gonna check those fuses and see if thats whats up! thank you so much for the informative video!
Wow, thank you! Wish i had youtube when i was younger.
Thanks I got it, all working, got someone to crank enjin and all the fuses and relays work, thanks so much
I think you're smart to go through every step on this know so many people want and will do this swap.
Hopefully these videos will take care of any questions people may have
Jerry really liking this video series. Lots of good info and how to's. Anyone doing this swap should watch this.
That’s the plan once it’s done
My oxygen sensor was shorting to the axle. The ASD fuse was breaking. Thanks for the help!
Awesome video you covered it all now I can tell if there is a short.got to do this myself and short on money
Great Video. It might help me figure out a 2010 JK Problem.

Thanks I created this channel many years ago for the ones who don’t like the swear words
Tidy looking work coming together in that engine bay!
What happened with the head gasket leak?

It looked good and sounded good. I'm still totally lost. I just want the buzzing to stop and vehicle to start.
Nice. Can you tell me if there is a easy wat to determine if the 2002 tj x I just got has SKIM? only has a aftermarket key.

Excellent 👍 will covered.. Thank you
So where would I look to chase terminal 30 which is to the constant power feed? I have none on my 97 tj. Where is it fed from?
Fantastic video!! Ty!
Excellent video ! Question if the accessory wire on asd is showing voltage but on crank voltage goes away! Would that be normal?
I having that problem did u solve it?
He said all the wiring where is LS swap is 4 circuit breakers 20 amp you need to get in touch with him he's a Canadian also
I don’t need any help with the wiring though

Hi. What if fuses and relay are good,, but you have 4-6V on the socket? !2.6 into the TIPM... Does that mean the TIPM is shot?

Your trouble shooting is great, it really helped. The ASD fuse was blown on my 97' tj 4cyl.
Cheers

There is for sure a short that you’ll need to deal with
*HOW CAN I TEST MY STARTER... IN MY JEEP WRANGLER WITHOUT TAKING OUT THE STARTER ...MY JEEP WILL NOT CRANK OVER...NO START....2013*
Got the same issue. Starter relay. Pull it out. Should be small rectangle and grey. Jumper wire from hot pin to ground. Mine turns over. Got all kinds of codes. U0100 and all kinds of abs, transmission, etc codes.
How to disconnect ASC relay from PCM to direct ground if possible ?
Hy thanks for your time.
I think I'm having the same shit issue.
I've to check this realy as i been researching for the past day's to find an answer. I'm getting the following cods p0513 and p00fd. Jeep 18 start and die straight away.
I have no power on small oxygen censor fuse and automatic shutdown fuse as well as no negative on ASC relay
Is 1.2 too much resistance on the asd ground? Thanks
Love the swap, and all the content. I just thought of this today. Did you ever here if the 57 is getting done ? Just wondered if you herd anything after you sold it. Just a thought.
No I believe they stripped parts off it and sold what they could
Very helpfull

Check the map sensor if you don't hear fuel pump kick on
Hey nice video ! I got a 2001 grand Cherokee 4.0 no start if i power prob shoot power to o2 sensor fuse it runs do you think asd relay?thanks
The real question you need to find out is what is causing that to happen
@@TestDontguess hey i found out the fuse for o2 sensor in dead no power any side also 3 more all blues is there a fuesible link i think the car may have jumped started in reverse?
You should contact DD Speed Shop on TH-cam he's doing the same thing that you're doing set the wiring and he makes it so much easier contact him
🎉🎉🎉nice
$250 for the power probe! Yikes! My ASD just failed on my 2011 Jeep GC.
Will a blown ASD destroy your pcm?
Anything is possible yes
Does the ASD fuse provide power to the ASD relay? Man I wish I had your help right now.
How are you bypassing the asd?
Contact info ?
great vid.
