  • 📌 Hello everyone, today I'm showing you guys a ceramic filter dripper by Kyuemon, Japan. The ceramic filter dripper is a very interesting dripper. It is designed with a maze-like porous ceramic that consists of countless tiny holes that lets the water seep through. A coarser grind is recommended for this dripper as the brew is slower.
A key note about this dripper is that it requires relatively higher maintenance, as the cleaning process requires fire or burning to burn off the coffee remains. Despite its high maintenance, it is still quite a fun and novel way to brew coffee.
Btw do you guys usually read the step-by-step guide? 🤔

Thank you very much very helpful video. About cleaning the filter how do we burn it like in an oven?

You can burn it in an oven or put it over the stove. Oven would probably be safer!

Why did you throw the blooming phase ?

When blooming, the carbon dioxide that are trapped inside are released, which allows more exposure to the water and thus better extraction. Because of that, the bloom 'water' is under-extracted leading to a acidic/sour taste! Also, in methods of making tea, many 'washes' the tea leaves before brewing and so we applied this to the coffee brewing process to wash away the 'firewood taste' that is retained within the coffee beans from the roast. Of course, it depends on the brewing method, the degree of the roast, type of coffee bean and your preference, etc...
