I’ve got 2 G11s that I’ve had for years. Love them. And I paid much more than $90 back in the day. They made me fall in love with Canons. I was a Nikon DSLR person before getting them. (I shoot Olympus & Nikon film.) I should dust off my G-11. Thanks for inspiring me.

I love those shots that you took, and that Canon color is amazing. For me the G series of canon cameras is very special. Canon poured so much technology into those cameras over the years It just can't be beat how good pictures come out straight from the camera.
The Canon G11 is always with me on both paid jobs and fun day out shooting.
I love my G10, and it's been my go-to since 2008. I've recently began shooting film again, but the G10 is still my favorite digital camera, even though my phone has an objectively better camera. When I was a photojournalist in the late 80's, my go-to lens for my Canon AE-1P was a combination of the typical 50mm, and an 85-105 zoom. I had many other lenses, but that 85-105 was used for 90% of my work.
Wonderful camera! Built like a tank! I have a couple of the G12 versions, purchased in 2011. I used them for street and to photograph lots of eBay items to sell….by setting up catalog lighting, tripod, and the remote shutter.
I have a G12 that I bought brand new when they first came out. Great build quality and an underappreciated camera for how good it is. It may very well be one of the best "walk around" digital cameras ever made . . . 👍👍👍

I recently got a G10, that has 15 megapixels, and I definitely see how having less megapixels can be an upgrade to such a small sensor. The flip screen is also a big deal.

Had a G11 and G12. I used them mainly for underwater photography and travel. The Lens is quite sharp regarding the zoom range and the small sensor. The cherry on the top are the really glorious colors at iso100 that you only get from a ccd-sensor. Maybe I buy just one again for fun and for the memories.

How do you use them for underwater?
There is an original underwater case from Canon (g11g12 Wp-DC 34). You can also use external strobes connected with a fiber optic cables. It is really great and easy out of the box for macro stuff and critters. Wide angle is not so easy to achieve. There were some other more professional housing option from Ikelite,, 10bar, Fisheye, Recsea and maybe many other. At its time it was very popular among underwater enthusiasts. You will still find many articles about it.
So which one is better g11 or g12?
@@leeshery1850 I think there is not really much of a difference. As far I remember The g12 had an additional adjustment wheel, a little bit better video specs, and was a little bit quicker (shutter delay). Sensor and lens is the same.

I was interested to buy the G11 because it's cheaper but wasn't sure either. Now i know i should've buy that g11 lol I'll get it tomorrow. Hopefully it hasn't sold yet!!!

@@CarmineTavernaPhotography thank you!! I was thinking about which one i should get because the price comparison are a bit too much. Both cameras are still in perfect condition. If you don't mind, can you suggest me which one i should get? The g12 kit are all original except it doesn't have the original box and books but the seller will give a camera bag/pouch.
I thought that the price differences are kinda far with that condition. But if you think it doesn't matter, I'll double think the g12 again. I mean, everyone (my friend and the seller) were convincing me to get the g12 because it is the latest, but i got unsure feeling because the g11 has complete kit/set. So i ended the day without any new cameras 😂 just yet!!

Yes, because it has all the modes to learn photography..manual, shutter priority, aperture priority, program and full auto when you want to learn composition
G10 or G11? I have the opportunity to buy one of these two, but I can't decide, as I see the only difference between them is in megapixels, but I'm interested in how much it affects the image quality
This might help...I use my Canon G11 as my back-up camera on News photography.
So much hype on film cameras which I love but is not bareble to pay for film develop nowadays. Is this G11 a good experience? Can't afford.a fuji
The Canon G11, is in my camera bag, and is my backup camera on paid photo jobs.

Would this be a good range finder for taking fotos of musicians in a pub with low light? I do have a Nikon D3200 with a 15-35 f3.5-5.6 and a 35mm f1.8… Or would I be better off getting a 50mm f1.8 for m D3200?

Hi, Mr. Taverna! May I ask a question about the G11? (I need to check my own G12.) When I used the G12 for street photography, I was sometimes frustrated by shutter lag...the delay from my clicking the shutter versus when the image would be taken. So....do you know of ways to decrease that shutter lag? I wonder if I were to turn OFF the Auto-Focus setting, and only focus in manual (zone focus?), would that reduce the shutter lag? Hmmmm....i must research this. 🙂
I honestly have not had a shutter lag on the G11...You can get accustomed to slight shutter lag...hope is not lost..peace

I'm learning that some cameras can be improved with settings, such as some cameras having a higher power/ rapid response setting of some sort. ...and the use of manual focus versus autofocus, where there is some lens jitter or whatever they call it. Sigh....I'm going back to film. 😆
У меня есть такая камера. Очень удобно держать в руке, много органов управления, откидной экран. Собрана очень качественно, нравится какой выдает цвет, конечно же в RAW. Но снимки не очень резкие, что и портит всю прелесть обладания этой камерой. Не знаю, может мне попался такой экземпляр? Спасибо!

Hello, I have a professional tip to share. When shooting outdoors I use this rule..Always f8, always aperture priority, lowest iso to maintain a shutter speed of 1/125 th of a second.

I just got this camera, used for $60. The previous owner showed me they used it, however now when I used it with a new memory card I keep getting a “memory card error” message, what should I do?
How to fix Canon g11 camera, memory card error;
Turn off the camera and eject the memory card from it. Wait for a while and insert it once again. ...
Make sure that the memory card you are using is compatible with your Canon camera, it likes a 2gb or 8gb SD card.
Try different cards.
If nothing else works, then format the memory card.

g11 is more better than g12?
BOTH THE G11 AND G12 ARE 99% THE SAME ..Both Canon G11 and Canon G12 have 1/1.7-inch sized 10.0 MP CCD resolution sensors so sensor size and resolution is not a differentiator between these two cameras.
