      Wil Myers is good, and the trade is not lopsided, but still pretty bad. Turner should be a key cog in an amazingly versatile and explosive Nationals batting order, while Rizzo helped the Cubs break the curse.

    Bartolo Colone to the Expos from Cleveland. Cleveland got Cliff Lee, Grady Sizemore and Brandon Philips. Cleveland cleaned up on that trade

    • @tonyei353
      @tonyei353 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think that can be put on here based on the fact of the reasoning. It was long thought that 2002 was going to be the Expos last season in baseball. They were, very surprisingly, in playoff contention. Colon was a great starter at that juncture in his career. Montreal makes that deal not based on the talent they were giving up but the fact that getting to the playoffs in their projected last season was worth it.

      Adam Hupp I'm pretty sure the narrator said 6 players who never made an impact on the Marlins. Andrew Miller and Cameron Maybin were top prospects, but never panned out like they were supposed to in the Marlins, and Burke Badenhop was just an average relief pitcher. Frankie de la Cruz and Mike Rabelo both have negative career WAR's

    • @chrisweidner4768
      @chrisweidner4768 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Baseball Elite At the time Templeton was the far superior player. His knees killed him. Still led the league in intentional walks, multiple times, as a Padre. As a Cardinal, was the first player ever to get more than 100 hits from both sides of the plate in a single season. Whitey herzog traded him after he flipped the bird to the home fans.

    • @jerrybrownell3633
      @jerrybrownell3633 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure about the Ozzie trade. Garry Templeton was a star for the Cardinals and actually was a better all
      around player than Smith. But Ozzie gained his reputation defensively.

    The Mets had Bautista for a couple minutes, we had Carlos Beltran, we had Justin Turner, Carlos Gomez. They also had Nolan Ryan, and they traded away Tom Seaver, they never signed back Daniel Murphy I COULD GO ON with all the good players the Mets had. But I've gotta say the Dickey trade was a great trade for Syndagaard

    • @iamhungey12345
      @iamhungey12345 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah they're pretty bad, but in Nolan Ryan's case the problem was the return however. It was complicated but at least the Mets won a ring with him before that happened.

    • @jerrybrownell3633
      @jerrybrownell3633 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    in 1991, the Astros traded Glenn Davis to the Orioles for Pete Harnisch, Steve Finley and a pitcher by the name of Curt Shilling. Davis went from being one of the top sluggers in the NL to a bust as an Oriole, hitting only 24 HRs in 3 seasons and then was out of baseball for good. Meanwhile, Harnish won 95 more games pitching, Finley hit 299 more HRs, and Schilling had a Hall of Fame career, helping the Red Sox and Diamondbacks win the World Series. Finley was also a member of the championship winning Diamondbacks.

    1966 Reds trade Frank Robinson to the Orioles thinking he's getting to old. Frank proved them wrong by winning the triple crown and the 1966 World Series MVP when Baltimore clinched its first World Series. Winter of '71: Houston sends Joe Morgan, Jack Billingham, Denis Menke, Cesar Geronimo, and Ed Armbrister to Cincinnati for Lee May, Jimmy Stewart, and Tommy Helms. The results? The Reds win at least 5 NL West titles, 3 NL pennants, and 2 World Championships. The Astros hovered around .500 for most of those seasons, and finished last in "75, 43 games out of first place.

    So far for the Brewers it's looking like Tyler Thornburg for Travis Shaw, I don't remember who else was involved in the trade, but that was a BAD one for Boston! Shaw was an emerging 3B for Boston who not only delt him but Panda as well and had to cut salary because of Panda. Thornburg was also an emerging Relief Pitcher, Thornburg would be injured for the season in Boston while Shaw had a breakout season for Milwaukee. Why Boston didn't just screw us over with Pablo to begin with, I will never know. Now we have a potential All Star 3rd basemen thanks to Boston. I can't wait for the brew crew this year!
