    ⛳️ Golf Teaching Philosophy:
Mark has extensive experience teaching a variety of golf students including top professional golfers to first-time golf beginners. He teaches both male and female golf students, junior and senior golfers, and is also qualified in teaching golfers with disabilities or special needs. He understands that students are all different and have to be taught as individuals.
A proponent of proper impact fundamentals, Mark, bases his communication with students on simplicity. He is constantly searching for new ways to downsize the golf swing and its components for his students. His instruction includes the latest in technology and a variety of drills that help students make the appropriate changes to their golf swing. The technology assists in diagnosis and giving feedback on each swing, while the drills help students to retrain their motor pattern.
Mark believes that the game of golf is as hard as we make it. Students have access to more information than ever through the internet, portable devices with swing capture, TH-cam, etc.... If we continue to over analyze our golf swing further confusion is inevitable. This confusion leads to doubt. Once doubt enters into the equation and our confidence is damaged, the game has won.
Mark teaches that a golf swing starts with practical fundamentals to fit a student’s particular pattern. Since using TrackMan his focus has turned to helping students create proper impact alignments. He prefers to use the swing each student possesses if it is functional in producing the desired impact. Mark’s goal is to help a student identify and understand the tendencies in their golf swing. The student can then work to improve and eliminate these tendencies.
Mark feels strongly that to make a change in the golf swing takes time and practice. If a student is looking for short term success, Mark will work exclusively on the short game. Many students have taken five to ten strokes off their score in one month with intensive short game training. As for the full swing, it can take a student much longer to become comfortable and see results. Playing lessons are an essential part of his training so students can learn to take it to the golf course - where it counts!
In his quest to keep current on the new trends in golf and fitness, Mark continually reads top authors, travels the country to observe top teachers, and attends industry shows and seminars in an effort to provide his clientele with the best instruction possible.

One round as a “front wheel drive” golfer and I am sold. Every iron shot was crisp and the distance was a bit longer than I expected. I am expecting that I will knock a few strokes off my game after I actually spend time on the practice range. I am always having trouble deciding between a pitch or a chip shot when I come up 10 yards short of the green. Some people swear that I need to learn to putt with a 7 iron, but I either use a lob wedge or chip with a pitching wedge. I would love to see what the rule of thumb is when you have a clear shot from off the green. Thanks for all your help.

Great news Chris! Thanks for the feedback. The correct answer is whatever gets the ball closest to the hole. On paper the lower route is better for most but not for everyone.

I have been a rear wheel drive golfer all this time. That is a great tip on how to be a “front wheel drive” golfer. I am sure it will help keep me in balance, gain distance and help create good divots. I can’t wait to practice it

Thanks Chris! It’ll help a ton with everything you mentioned. Practice and let me know if you have any questions. Also, let me know if there are any topics you’d like me to shoot a video about.

Another great video. Using small sayings like "front-wheel drive" makes it clearer and more memorable. When you actually hit the ball and show the finish, it makes it that much clearer.

Glad to see this video again, especially in the Spring-time and the start of the season. Hopefully I'll return to that "front wheel drive golfer" again and leave the chunks behind. Keep these gems coming.

Love your simplistic explanations that really help things "click". Cant wait to switch gears and become a front wheel driver. It makes so much sense.... going to practice it today. Thanks!

@@DurlandGolfSchoolNaples this really works! I played 18 today.. normally I score over 100 with my best score being 98. Using this method during play today I score a 94 and that is with several three putts and one boogered up hole!!! Thos makes so much sense and feels much more natural to me than other methods... I also added about 30 yards to my drives! Whahoo.
      Thanks again.

Many thanks Mark. I have only just found your tip series and this one on weight transfer makes it crystal clear why my swing has been so inconsistent. The tee under lead foot idea is seriously helpful. Getting my trail hip around a little quicker will be the challenge - at 76!!! Keep up the good work.

Love the video, very easy to follow and take to the range/course. So many little nuggets in the video I really enjoyed. I especially liked the front vs back wheel drive and when you explained hitting driver vs everything else! Thanks for the help on the SwingIndex app! Im really glad you referenced this video.
