@@PerformanceReviews Big bag, big vacuum cleaner. These vacs had huge bags because of the enormous area that was covered every day.
Just purchased the D4 yesterday after watching your scbo comparison video. I did up for the small turbo attachment right away, as a smaller motored solution for cleaning up our cat tree is something I've wanted for years. Next thing on the list will probably be the upgraded hard floor tool but the kind lady at our local store was taken aback I'd purchased any accessories and advised me to hold off on any accessories purchase until I used it. Thank you for all you do and in narrowing down the choices.

Bought my D4 about 3 months ago and I’m loving it! Best vacuum I’ve ever owned. Filled my “bottomless pit” in about that 3 month time. 1,700 sq ft home with one small dog. I use my D4 at least once week and do all my dusting, upholstery, carpet and bare floor cleaning with the D4. Der Sebo D4 ist wunderbar!
I really want the D4 but I'm wondering if I should hold off as I read it's discontinued. Kind of weird they wouldn't come out with a newer premium model before discontinuing the current one. Makes me scratch my head.
@@BeastMortThe I still haven’t seen any evidence of the d4 being discontinued, although when I got mine the us distributor didn’t have any of the onyx model, only white. I absolutely love the D series but the K series will always be my favorite. For large homes though the D4 can’t be beat. Sebo makes the best canisters along with, in my opinion, the greatest floor head ever made in the ET-1.

Sebo is the only power nozzle canister vacuum I’ll buy. I’ve had the others and determined that I’m better off with uprights and suction only canisters with good accessories. Other than Sebo I find the sockets on power nozzle canisters to be too troublesome so I keep uprights and good suction only canisters in my house. The design and interchangeability of Sebo’s wiring and sockets make for a practical exception wherein the entirety of the hose assembly isn’t required to be replaced in order to have the machine running and that it can be done for less than $22.00 and In minutes at home with a screwdriver makes it easy. Replacing an entire hose for the price of an inexpensive vacuum isn’t the reason that I was in the market for a fine vacuum. It was to avoid spending on a succession of lesser vacuums and the costs there in.
I purchased the D4 Premium after watching your videos. I use it at my house as well as my sister's. At her house it shows how much of a beast it is since she has grand kids and a daughter that is a seamstress so there are all types of crud all over her floors and she could immediately tell the difference when I did the whole house with the D4 Premium.
Thank you very much for your time & effort put into your thorough reviews! I have been researching new vacuums for the last 3 days as I am tired of spending $300-400USD every 3-ish yrs. At the start of my research I was sold on the Skark Stratus Duo Fin....then I saw your review of the Shark Duo Fin, thank you! I then watched your video of the differences in the Miele models, which primed me to find a dealer near me....then I saw your review of the Miele vs the SEBO and I am sold 100%!!!....so my question to you is: which SEBO, the E3 or the D4, would be best for pet hair and dust (lots of both!!!) 80/20 carpet/flooring, regardless of home square footage? TYIA for your time and opinion!
Thanks to your reviews, I bought one last weekend after the Sh@rk died. I got on the SEBO site and did a dealer search and started calling dealers within a reasonable driving distance. Closest dealer is 15 - 20 miles sand selling for MSR. Another dealer about 60 miles away said he had it for sale at an ungodly good price. My teeth almost fell out.Called the closest guy back and told him I'd rather not have to drive an hour for a machine, but would if I had to. Told him the competitors price . He said nope, couldn't touch it. Could lower two hundred, but that was it. So I hopped in the car and drove an hour, picked it up and came home. The one thing my dealer said however, was that buying through him, I could only get a seven year warranty. I thought through dealers, it was 10 years. One question. I the power head manual it mentions attaching the brush clip adaptor to the telescopic tube. I didn't see is on your video and didn't have on e included with the vacuum. Did you have one and just not put it on? OH, if you are wondering, it was $899.
I can’t say for a Sebo, but my C3 G/N bag lasts about a month, and I Vacuum daily. 2500 sq foot house; 4 adults, 1 baby, 4 dogs, 2 cats. We are very active, and go in and out of the house many times per day. We bring a lot of traffic, as do the dogs. I do the floors, carpet etc plus a large sectional couch and tables daily. I’ll vacuum my mattress twice a month as well as the pillows. I’ll do more things but just here and there; not part of my standard vacuuming routine (like stairs, baseboards, window crevices, curtains, etc). The bag in this Sebo would probably last 3-4x as long.
I have owned my Sebo for about two years, and I can’t rave enough about what a great vacuum it is. I am so glad you mentioned the parquet brush. I am going to order it asap, because I agree that the included hard floor brush is subpar. I am now researching what the best cordless stick vac might be for quick kitchen and hard floor touch-ups between using the Sebo. Please advise…I have high expectations based on my Sebo experience, so would like a good quality, lightweight stick vac that has excellent suction.
About your comments on filters, my understanding is that sebo hospital grade is right between hepa 12 and 13. My mom has a 2000w hepa nilfisk, it supposedly has a 13 filter, but the air smells dusty when I use it. I bet she hasn't changed the filters in more than a year. Plus the hose to cannister connection point looks to be loose/leaking air.
I have a Miele c3, but I think this or the l3 might be my next canister vac purchase. I like the swivel hose attachment which would be so helpful in smaller spaces. but I'm also looking at the sound rating, in this sebo and the k3 come in at 63 db, which is quieter than the highest setting on Miele C3 canister. NOICE
Love my D4 so much I got last Saturday that the following Monday I ended up going back to buy the E3 to keep as an upstairs vacuum but it was sold(yeah it sold that fast! A little later on that Saturday morning I exchanged it for the D4 some other dude came in and bought it). Local dealer did awesome though getting me an E3 from their warehouse that morning so that I could come pick up on my lunch break lol. Really really happy with this brand of machine. Even bought a used X4 earlier this week just to try one of their uprights and it's awesome, so much so that I'm gonna get a new X7 soon lol. I really appreciate how the machines are intended to be serviced and the I've never walked on carpet that felt so clean until using a sebo.
Great review. I just bought the D1 Turbo (I have all tile/hardwoods in the house). It comes with that "regular" brush which works fine, but you mentioned you did not like it and should replace it with the Parquet brush. What I didn't understand is WHY. What makes the Parquet brush better than the standard hard floor brush?
Hi there, Great review, thank you! If you have a Sebo Felix, can you please do a performance comparison over multiple surfaces between it and Sebo's D4? Also, can you please share directions as to how to remove the front brush panel of the Premium Parquet tool? Lastly, for hardwood surfaces did you find a difference in performance between the Kombi and Premium Parquet tools? My thanks in advance! :)
I think that it’s the best domestic canister vacuum produced for longevity and premium performance. There’s one area where I was disappointed in the E series’s design in that I’d hoped that it would have employed the D series’ top fill design as opposed to the traditional flow through design that it took, similar to Miele’s. That an a additional five feet of cord would have made it worth the cost differential between an E1 and the Pure Suction I’d purchased and added a few accessories.
I have the D1 which is the straight suction version in the D series, I'm pretty sure that one is no longer available. It's a great full size canister. I think Sebo is one of the best, if not the best brand of vacuum you can get, whenever I'm asked which brand to get, Sebo is the first one I suggest. They are well designed and well made, whether you want a canister or an upright, you can't go wrong with a Sebo cleaner. I do have an adapter that will allow you to use standard attachments, the hose end is slightly larger than the 35 MM size used on other European brands such as Miele. I also have a Sebo Felix, another great cleaner.
There's one of these for sale in my area second hand for $600 and I'm really tempted to pick it up but the warranty is non transferable to different owners
Thank you again for the video. I’m going to buy one tomorrow would you consider this suction as good as the Miele and the what used to be Kenmore elite canister? I only have hardwood floors it might be a little overkill because I don’t really need the rotor brush. Your response is appreciated. Also, what are your ideas on putting some kind of a light on it?
Just purchased the D4 this week! So far I really love it! Can't stop vacuuming, haha! I have a question: Do you think they have a greater chance of bad odor because it doesn't have a Hepa filter? I know the filters are really good but would the hepa filter prevent this? My son has the Sebo Dart and I've noticed a bad odor when turned on. It says to change the filters every 15-20 bags but he's gone through maybe 5 bags. The vacuum is about 8 months old.
Excellent review! I have a large house with hardwood and linoleum floors, and a few area rugs thrown in the mix. I’m looking for a 15+ year vacuum and the D4 sure has piqued my interest. Is there anything else in this price range that you’d recommend for lots of hardwood and a couple area rugs?
This really is best in class. I would recommend looking into having a central vacuum retrofitted. VacuFlo would be my recommendation there. Thanks for watching!
If my ET-1 is sticking to the carpet (due to waterproof padding), is it better to lower the suction to ~70% or add the “Soft Carpet Bumper/Baseplate Strip”? Do you accomplish the same level of cleaning with either method (ie, suction vs airflow)? Is this a worthwhile experiment?
I just installed one of these plates on my D4 and Felix. It works like a charm on my medium pile soft carpet with a waterproof backing and waterproof pad. Thank you!!! Keep up the great work!
I have this vacuum and the "C" model. The improved synthetic bags make the C much better.Yes---That D model is indeed a bottomless pit-has the capacity of commercial machines-figure this one is a good vacuum to market to prospects as a possible upright replacement. The quality of the Sebo machines appears to be better than that on Meile. The dealer near me has both Sebo and Meile. He stocks the Sebo D.
I just took my d4 out of the box and the plug is so hot after using for 5 min feels like it could burn me ? The d1 I had didn’t do this ? I’m going g to call and ask because this vac was not cheap and I did love the d1 so I returned it for the d4 and now I’m scared to use it for a long time
Hello and thank you for such a comprehensive review. I currently have a Felix Sebo which is honestly the best I have ever used. Unfortunately I have just had my house re-carpeted and the pile is incredibly thick and Felix can’t cope with it. Would the Premium D4 be suitable?
I’ve been waiting for Zero G to come back in stock cause I’d like to own one. Lately I’ve been really looking into Sebo canisters and I’m very impressed. In your opinion which Sebo canister would be the appropriate model to compare to the Zero G?
First, your reviews are INCREDIBLY helpful - thank you for such thorough reviews! Followup question - we are torn between the D4 and the Miele C3 Cat & Dog - which of those two would you recommend? Our home is about 2500 square feet, two floors, mostly hardwoods with some area rugs. We also have a very furry medium sized dog. Thank you!
are the vacuums in the playlist, 'Recommended vacuum Cleaners' listed in the order you recommend them? For example, is this your 3rd favorite recommendation?
Yes - I would like to purchase a canister vacuum. I would love to have a Miele!! However, my current budget does not allow. I have tile, rugs, hardwood and carpets.. and carpeted stairs. No pets, but allergies. The most that I can currently spend is $300. What would be your best recommendation?
Uprights tend to be heavier in the hand. With a canister you are not carrying around the weight of the motor dust collection and accessories. As far as back issues, I couldn't tell you. But I'd recommend you go to your local dealer and take a test drive before buying anything.
can the Sebo D4 Premium deep clean carpets as good or better than the Zero G vacuum cleaner Ive been thinking about buying for awhile? I just wanna know how good the Sebo D4 Premium vacuum cleaner can deep clean carpets compared to the Zero G vacuum cleaner I'm still thinking about buying I don't own either the Zero G or Sebo D4 Premium vacuum cleaners yet but I would like to know which of these 2 vacuums can deep clean carpets better is all I'm asking once you answer my question about these 2 vacuum cleaners if you do answer then I will think about which vacuum cleaner I wanna buy
I'll be honest... I'm not sold yet on this SEBO and maybe someone can enlighten me. So currently I have a Dyson Animal Ball 2 and love it for the most part, but for sure it has some faults that just really annoy me. Currently been looking at the Riccar Tandem Air Pet Premium, but some reviewers have said that aren't as good as they once were in the past. The thing that I see a lot of reviewers of vacuums seem to show is how models agitate the carpet to help suck up as much as possible, which models like Dyson and Riccar uprights seem to be out of the world at. But this SEBO doesn't seem like the agitation or even the suction is much to be happy about. I want something better than my Dyson. Cost is not a factor as I'm willing to spend any amount as long I'm getting the best and most solid piece of machinery. Some say the Kirby is the best... but didn't take me watching too many reviews to realize the machine is just over complicated with switching from floor mode to tool mode and lots of complaints about how heavy it is. So... sell me on the SEBO? Or maybe a Milele or something else?
My job is to review products here not to sell you on anything. That being said agitation has very little to do with cleaning. There are plenty of vacuums without a brush roller that will out clean machines with a brush roller. I'm not sure where you get lack of suction or air flow from looking at SEBO? I'd recommend you try one for yourself and make your decision. Visit a local independent retailer. As far as Riccar I think they're poor reputation speaks for themselves. High maintenance low quality and made in China not the USA as advertised. If "money is really no issue" get a central vacuum installed that's as Good as It gets. Hope you find the right vacuum for you.
Hello, I currently own one of these vacuums and it has done very good, but I can’t seem to get the smell of wet dog out of the vacuum. I took it to the vacuum store that I purchased it and when they cleaned it. They disassembled the motor and did not assemble it correctly because when I plugged it in at home, it sounded terrible. Do you have any recommendations for getting that smell out of my vacuum or do I have to take it apart and clean it?
I would definitely call and talk to the owner/manager and make sure that gets fixed right. There's no reason they shouldn't have to deodorize it for you in assembled it correctly.
I got a k3 but afterwatching this reviews I feel I should pay the difference and get either the E3 or the D4. We have a 4700 sq home. Basement is all carpet(2200sq) and upstairs wood floors and big area rug. Upstairs I currently use a dyson stick and robot vacuum. Which one would you suggest? Is the longer cord and bigger bag worth the extra few hundred dollars in my case. Thanks for this helpful review My local dealer is going to special order the one I choose but I can’t try it in store or return it once I pay :(
Hello I read that the plastic on the unit scratches and that worries me because I want my appliances especially my vacuum to be always in perfect visual condition. Thanks
I have a question about the D4. I just got one of these from a friend of mine who longer wanted it I've noticed that the power cord gets warm like the plug is that normal and also to the powerhead the red light will blink occasionally is that normal
The electrical cord on vacuum cleaners typically do get a little warm but should not burn you if you touch it. As far as the red light going on occasionally that is to indicate the brush roller is not adjusted properly. Or the brush roller is starting to wear out typically about 4 years is the life on those. The other thing that can cause it is there's only four height adjustments it's possible your carpet could be in between one of those settings and just can't be finally tuned enough. Enjoy your SEBO D4 don't hesitate to bring it by a local dealer.
@@PerformanceReviews thank you for your feedback yeah the cord gets hot especially the plug and I noticed the outlet gets warm too so I changed it to a different Outlet thinking that might have been just the outlet but it's still doing it in different Outlets so do you think it might be the cord that could be going bad and if it is the cord going bad do you know what roughly those would cost to replace
Hello, Erik Schupkegel, which of the Vorwerk machines would you say, suit a home with mostly carpet? Vorwerk vacuum cleaners are readily available here in Australia.
@@looloo4029 Well, I have a Vorwerk VK135. It has a very powerful motor and the Powerhead also has a strong agitation, but that machine is quite old, you can't buy it as new. I never used the new VK200, but they are probably pretty good.
@@匿名的-1 The VK200 is more suited for a small apartment as the bags are pretty small, but it's nimble and goes low under furniture. For an average home I prefer my Felix, the U1 is yet another step up.
I feel like my ET-1 power nozzle is under powered. My rainbow power nozzle seems to have better cleaning and aggitation but I would rather use my D4. Any thoughts on this? I have seen several others feel like they are unimpressed with the ET-1 cleaning ability also on vacuumland.
Well I wouldn't believe anything really posted on vacuum land. Most of those people why do they like vacuums are very unadept to reality. As far as cleaning ability on carpet this and most rainbows are about the same. This nozzle might deep clean slightly better but the difference is negligible. Most people at home don't have the ability to do proper testing so you'll have to take CRI's word for it.
@@PerformanceReviews the D4 for me as a lot more airflow than my rainbow. The rainbow PN is IMO very good at agitation but the over unit is too light a d bounces on my carpet. The ET1 is good and heavy but little agitation. I'm gonna try out the miele but I can already tell I'm gonna be more impressed with it than the Sebo et1. I have a feeling that the et1 may be the best of the best if I had a central vac.

Torn between D4 vs E3... 2000 sq ft split level home with hardwoods and medium pile carpets. Not sure if the D4 will be too large/bulky to carry up and down stairs, or if it's worth it just for the long cord and huge bag!
If you're going up and down stairs definitely the E3. I find the large bag and longer cord to be unnecessary in most homes. But there's no wrong choice there

The bag in this Sebo would probably last 3-4x as long.
The bag in the D4 is 6 litres, the C3 is 4.5 litres.
Glad you're upgrading your floor tool.
These are the best cordless machines I found so far. th-cam.com/video/XLYZLO2mQ_I/w-d-xo.html
It would have been great if you had a particles test to see how great are those "sealed" filters.
Now that you have both, do you prefer one over the other? Or does one feel more user friendly than the other?
this is considered by many as one of the best canisters ever. i can see why.
Thanks again another satisfied customer today!!
Do you find that the Sebo D4’s deep clean carpet better than the Miele C3?
Thanks for sending customers our way, Jeff Potts Action vacuum
Very good review, thank you!!
Awesome! Glad this review is happening
Wow, what a fantastic review. Thank you, SUPER helpful!
I bet your floors are so freaking clean.
I love my sebo d4 vacuum!!!
Great video with tons of detail!
You need to add the soft carpet bumper strip. That should fix the problem.
I would recommend going to your local dealer and having them put a "Soft carpet plate" on your Felix
Thank you very much. I hadn’t considered that option. That’s most helpful.
I’ve been waiting for Zero G to come back in stock cause I’d like to own one.
Lately I’ve been really looking into Sebo canisters and I’m very impressed.
In your opinion which Sebo canister would be the appropriate model to compare to the Zero G?
Great job Sebo has always made great vacuums
How does this compare to the Lindhaus DB4 backpack vacuum, or any of Lindhaus' other offerings?
how are sebos compares to mieles?
First, your reviews are INCREDIBLY helpful - thank you for such thorough reviews!
Followup question - we are torn between the D4 and the Miele C3 Cat & Dog - which of those two would you recommend? Our home is about 2500 square feet, two floors, mostly hardwoods with some area rugs. We also have a very furry medium sized dog. Thank you!
Thanks for watching. You're picking from The Best of the Best. Really depends on which you like better at that point there are no wrong answers there.
@@PerformanceReviews Outstanding. Thank you very much!
are the vacuums in the playlist, 'Recommended vacuum Cleaners' listed in the order you recommend them? For example, is this your 3rd favorite recommendation?
Yes - I would like to purchase a canister vacuum. I would love to have a Miele!! However, my current budget does not allow. I have tile, rugs, hardwood and carpets.. and carpeted stairs. No pets, but allergies. The most that I can currently spend is $300. What would be your best recommendation?
nothing good on the market right now, all China made in that price range, titan at 449 decent for china made, or buy a sebo turbo model 499
What is a canister vacuum like for people who have back issues? I've always heard upright is better for those who have bad backs etc
Uprights tend to be heavier in the hand. With a canister you are not carrying around the weight of the motor dust collection and accessories.
As far as back issues, I couldn't tell you. But I'd recommend you go to your local dealer and take a test drive before buying anything.
Would you purchase this machine used from marketplace?
How good is it for deep cleaning carpets compared to the Zero G vacuum cleaner Ive been thinking about for awhile?
can the Sebo D4 Premium deep clean carpets as good or better than the Zero G vacuum cleaner Ive been thinking about buying for awhile? I just wanna know how good the Sebo D4 Premium vacuum cleaner can deep clean carpets compared to the Zero G vacuum cleaner I'm still thinking about buying I don't own either the Zero G or Sebo D4 Premium vacuum cleaners yet but I would like to know which of these 2 vacuums can deep clean carpets better is all I'm asking once you answer my question about these 2 vacuum cleaners if you do answer then I will think about which vacuum cleaner I wanna buy
Why didn't it come with a Powermate upper stairs and upholstery it should come with one makes it more convenient
That’s my next vacuum purchase.
Awesome recap
Thanks for this helpful review
My local dealer is going to special order the one I choose but I can’t try it in store or return it once I pay :(
I would definitely go for the D4 if that was your size house. But the real solution is it should have a central vacuum if that's that big.
I’ve been very impressed with your reviews of the Zero G.
Can the Zero G hold its own against this Sebo?
In a pick up test and maneuverability definitely. Included accessories yes.
Longevity only time will tell.
Thanks for the reply
do i need to remove the brush completely when vacuuming delicate loop pile or silk area rugs?
No not at all but I would recommend the soft brush roller with the green bristles.
@@PerformanceReviews thank you!
Hello I read that the plastic on the unit scratches and that worries me because I want my appliances especially my vacuum to be always in perfect visual condition. Thanks
You for real?!
"That was done in case you're deaf." 😂❤

What does this machine coast
Hi, have you ever used a Vorwerk? It's a pretty cool german brand. You've probably heard of them, but they can't be found in the US sadly.
Yes I have used the modern machines overseas. We actually got them up until the early '90s over here I have such an example in my collection.
What reason would you get the kombi tool over the parquet tool?
Areas rugs
How does the D4 compare at the power head vs. the Felix?
The K and the Felix share the same motor. This video should tell you want you want to know. th-cam.com/video/4E7xH75Z9D4/w-d-xo.html
How does it work with high pile shag rugs?
They have a soft brush roller that helps with that. But your mileage might vary.
I just bought a sebo d4 premium & unfortunately, even on level 4, the head was not high enough. The air vents on the front of the head are blocked by my thick & dense carpet and it just stopped automatically with a red light. I really love the sebo, anything I can try to tweak manually to make it work for me ?😢
There is a high carpet sole plate that can be put onto the machine. Call your dealer they'll have it available
@PerformanceReviews Oh my god....I didn't know such thing is available. Thanks a lot. Can you share a link or a picture for me as an example. It's just that I live in UK & there are barely any local vacuum dealer here.
@PerformanceReviews also...May I know if it's removable? Since I might have to change between hard floor & carpet.
Do any of the Sebo power heads include headlights?
No, Unfortunately they do not.
Is the D4 Premium better than the Sebo Felix Premium?
Yes of course
I wonder if Miele attachments fit this. Is this model compatible with the 34mm attachments?
How did it compare to the mele?
It's very comparable it's there direct competitor
@@PerformanceReviews thanks. I have the melee Capricorn. Great suction.
Do you like the D4 better than the Miele C3?
Are the bags really 35.00 each???
Edit: Bag prices I saw were for a box of 8 for $35.00, phew!!
They are $4.40 EA bags and sold in a 8 pack for $35 which is typically a year's supply.
@@PerformanceReviews Thanks for clarifying. I really like this model but got a little concerned thinking about the thought of a 35 dollar bag change!!! 🤣🤣 Now I’ve just got to find the Onyx version, on sale!!
But there's no wrong choice there
@@PerformanceReviews thank you! we ended up springing for the D4 and it's a great machine. Thanks for the thorough review!
@@sssuperwomannnHow are you liking the D4 after having it so far? Any user friendly issues that you do or do not prefer?
Discontinued... Is the k3 as good?
Just double check to SEBO website it's very much available. The K3 is there entry level offering for small households.
