Hello everyone, Firstly - thank you to all that have been watching over the past year and welcome to anyone new here. This edit was enlightening for many reasons. This past year has flown by - what an amazing year it has been. So much was cut out that I would have liked to throw in but that would have lead to a 3hr’athonn video. I can feel the aches and pains as I watch it all back. I hope you enjoy it as there is plenty more to come in 2025. The exploring seemed to be popular so I will head out to more towns and regions and sprinkle those into the videos when I can. I will also put together an update on the property buying tips video that I did as I now have a lot of fresh updates that could be helpful to some. Thanks all for the support and a massive thank you to all that have bought me a coffee or two. I am really humbled by your encouragement and generosity. Richard.
Family holidays every year in Italy we’re so magical, but now I care for my Dad who’s 88 it’s impossible, so have not been since 2018 😑 Love getting my fix from your vlogs ❤
Congrats on a succesful year! Thanks a lot for allowing us to follow along during your progress. And so entertaining, you're just hilarious 😂But most of all inspirational, especially as your proving it is possible to do a lot of the work yourself, without having much experience. We bought an old stone house in Sicily this year, and everything needs to be renovated except the roof and walls. Plenty of work ahead for us too! 😉Wishing you all the best for 2025!
Thank you. I am sure you can also do most of the work yourself. It takes time and planning but is very rewarding. Save the pennies for the pros to do the big jobs.👍
Very impressive Richard, when you see its all end to end like that. You have also found yourself a great community and a great alternative to the UK for your kids. Looks and sounds like you have made some really good family choices. Cheers.
I have so much attachment to a temporary deck that isn't even mine :D. In my house very very far from Italy, when you'd film your deck time I'd feel like I was right there with you. Thanks for letting me come along
The place looks great you've done so much in the last year. look forward to seeing the saplings and the ground cover in the spring and the ongoing house renovations.
Enjoyed rewatching. Great work Richard. Looking back its incredible how much you got done, especially not being there full time either. You must be excited to continue. Onwards and upwards ❤

Hello Richard, I enjoyed watching the recap, you always don't realise just how much you've achieved until you step back and see what you started with. I can imagine how eager you are for this year, I can already see loads of work coming up with the planting and watering the terraces and getting more comfortable inside. Looking forward to watching the process.👌❤️🇿🇦
Can't believe it has been a year....the improvements to the house are great, but for me its the way you have opened our eyes up to new views, the sunsets, the sky. And the clearing with your mate was supremely satisfying. I think this wee hoose is going to be amazing.
It's really amazing all the work you have done! I especially love the blue fireplace, and kitchen window. And the massive amount of clearing you have done! Great work, thank you for sharing!
I am not new, nevertheless, great achievement Richard ! Keep on moving ... We will visiting Umbria and Le Marche in September this year.... all the best to you personally and with your project, of course 👍🙌✌

About to comment, then saw Tigerlilart's comment was exactly what I was going to say, apart from the liver virus, thinking now you are back in UK and we won't see you for 90 days. What a pleasant surprise ! I'd forgotten most of what you had done, and that was a brilliant refresher, Thnx
Fantastic work! I'd love to see some drone shots of before and after. Also some interior shots. I've been watching for a while and I enjoy all of the cleanup but after it's cleaned I have a hard time remembering what it looked like before the cleanup 😉. What do you anticipate the weather being like at the end of March?
As I gather more footage and get more vidoes out, I can do the before / during / after shots more frequently now. March and into spring is lovely. very mild weather with the odd hot sunny day.
I've totally enjoyed watching the journey. Great job Richard! I will say though, that I think no one would mind if you kept a vlog of some of your time in England too. I think it's part of the story, and the journey, ha.
Just wow! I’ve watched every episode and love each one. Looking back it’s unbelievable the amount of work that has been accomplished, what a legend! I’m recovering from a nasty liver virus and your videos make me keep my dreams alive of getting back to Europe. Thank you 🙏

@threeacresofmarche Thanks for replying. It's amazing what it all comes to when you start to add everything up. Congratulations on all the achievements, big and small, over the past year! Definitely one of my favourite channels!,😊
Rich i was grimacing watching that beam going in again, I remember watching that the first time around 😂😢😂
The good news is that it is still there and has not moved 1mm.😅
@threeacresofmarche thank god for that as well, imagine having to do that all over again... Precision engineering at its finest
Nice to see the summary of the 1st year. Then i don't have to watch all the videos again 😅.
Some things i had already forgotten 👌🏼
No harm in letting them old ones roll again...😁
I cant believe it has been a year already, following your channel from day 1!
I am back already. The 90 day rule is 90 days withing a 180 day period so it is a rolling tally.👍
@threeacresofmarche Ah right, like a numpty I presumed you had run out of days. New vlog coming soon then ? Can't wait.
Well done on a fantastic year 😊

You really do try hard to keep your area and house going it's so much work
Ah that deck build - We copied that idea for our italy house renovation! Such a good idea. It’s never ending isn’t it - look forward to seeing how it all develops next year for you with your garden landscaping. It really is living the dream, until you realise how much you’ve spent at Leroy Merlin and brico 😂😂 are you planning on a swimming pool at any time? We have found a fab wooden one that doesn’t need PP apparently….
Ooooo a wooden one without PP - please do share. email me or DM on Instagram. Cheers!🤞
Epic.......
I'm sure someone has suggested muriatic acid to clean bricks. With that said, there's really good sealer out. There that makes the bricks look beautiful.
Excellent ❤❤❤
Great recap and you’ve done an amazing job.
So much has been achieved in the past year and one tends to forget until there's a recap. Thanks for that recap, you've done well but how much has it cost you so far and how much have you saved by DIYing it?

A moment of madness and here I am....too late to turn back now.😂
Hi Richard, I have been glued to your project from the start and am looking to find a project of my own.
Just out of interest, how much do you think you've soent in materials and contractors/ help so far?
Looking forward to more great footage.
Good question @The_Tool_Scoop . I spend too much on bad advice (I should write a blog for the website on that!) Lets say 13k on fees and labour plus about 3k to 4k on materials and tools. I have had to buy a lot of tools.
@threeacresofmarche Thanks for replying. It's amazing what it all comes to when you start to add everything up.
I've seen that you've had a few.learning curves along the way and it's been impressive and interesting to see how you have solved each problem.
The new landscaping looks fantastic and it's amazing how doing that one thing guves 100 new possibilities.👍
Great catch up, hopefully the improving relationship with the EU will mean the 90 day rule will be relaxed, keep on keeping on.
Lets hope so.🤞
