Enjoy the 40K content? drop a like and tell me what you want me to cover next - I have my own plans of course too ;D Thanks for all the support as always guys, more stuff already in progress.
Absolutely amazing as normal I think maybe short bios on the primarch maybe but I don't know. Great work yet again love the atmosphere you create in these videos that into gave me goosebumps. For the Emperor and Sanguinius
I always love getting to watch your videos and I am glad to see one about chaos. Did you ever have plans to make one about grey knights, it might be interesting.
Please do a Primarchs one but rather than individual or all of them do the opposing primarchs and the story behind their enmity ie Lion el and Konrad K, Lorgar and Guilliman and even the Obvious like Magnus and Russ. Would make either a great series or maybe even a feature/two parter as you'd no doubt want to explain the Primarchs in some detail to begin with. Whatever you make will be great as always, LT.
I think Tau and Dark Eldar need some form of background video if there is enough information to make one. While the Dark Elder have been touched on, they still need their own separate lore video as do the Tau. Perhaps some IG lore such as Tanith/Gaunts Ghosts, Catachans or Kreig could be interesting as long as you feel you have enough info to form dedicated videos for each. Your own planned subjects are of course excellant choices so far, I don't think anyone can complain with what your releasing though, they'd be mad. Of course any smaller Loregear vids definitely keep us going till the next big lore video and are welcomed too!
What's this? A 40K lore video that isn't just a verbatim reading of a wiki article? And it actually delves into the metaphysics and theories of the setting, offering different viewpoints and encouraging the viewer to think outside the box instead of just accepting the insufferably boring dualistic good/evil relationship that humanity has with Chaos? Kinda mad I didn't discover this channel sooner.
Shaun Watson Do you even LOOK for other channels? Just to name a few: Oculus Imperia, 40k Theories, and if you’re feeling particularly cynical and edgy, Arch Warhammer. Hell, Bruva Alfabusa’s ongoing “If The Emperor Had A Text-To-Speech Device” did a pretty damn good job of explaining the nature of Chaos. And that’s a *parody* series. TL;DR, Luetin does make some extremely high-quality vids, but if you think his are the only ones worth watching, you’re denying yourself a lot of enjoyment during the long empty periods between his vids.
Your profile pic is heresy but thats OK the legion takes all who prove to be useful. Come my child and let the twins open your eyes to the folly of both sides and fight for what the living emperor would have wanted.
True but they quoted it from a famous anthropology book. The hero's of one side are villains on the other. Lorgar also quotes this with : Angels or daemons, depends where you stand at that time.
I find Magnus to be a very comforting character. A reminder that, for no matter how bad things get, no matter how alone or broken you feel at least you're not Magnus
Khorne's eternal hatred of Slaanesh actually goes a bit deeper. The sources of their power are, as you say, diametrically opposed, but to Khorne, Slaanesh's very existence is an insult of the highest order as the Lord of Hatred and Bloodshed and his followers can no longer take joy, pleasure, and satisfaction in their actions without empowering Slaanesh, who in turn denies Khorne as much as possible by prolonging death and suffering, subverting true hatred in favor of pleasure, pain, and fear. To Khorne, Slaanesh is as anathema as the Emperor was to Chaos itself.
@Brutalyte616 And it goes the other way around too, as the followers of Khorne murder there victims as quickly as possible in order to deny Slaanesh. Tzeentch and Nurgle have a similar relationship, as Tzeentch is the master of eternal change, whereas Nurgle is the manifestation of permanent stagnation, as such they are diametrically opposed to one another.
@@nathanoconnor421 Yes, but Tzeentch and Nurgle do not naturally encroach upon one another's territory; they're complete opposites, so their spheres have no overlap beyond the governance of life in the Materium common to all Warp entities. Slaanesh, on the other hand, encroaches on all of their territory just by existing as now none of the other gods or their servants can take joy in their work without trickling power to Slaanesh.
I would love a game, where you play as fx. a chaos space marine, in the warp, as a part of "the great game", you start as "neutral" and then, based on what actions you take, you lean towards one of the 4 (or maybe a way to lean towards all 4, with a chance to become a "champion of chaos undivided") I personally think too many Warhammer 40k games focus too much on The Imperium and the Astartes, we need more games that puts more focus on Chaos, Orks and others.
Lore-wise it doesn't work, unless you start as an Imperial marine and then choose which side to go to when you fall, or during a Chaos United event. The chaos marines born in the warp are already set to their path.
Your usage of the words “splashage and spillage” as an analogy for the battles between the Eldar and Chaos really communicates the inevitability and insignificance of the mortals in the scale of the universe in the best way. Really appreciate your storytelling and use of language. Amazing channel.
@@lucky-lu6tc It rematerialized briefly near Terra but the crew sent to recover it was either killed or went as nuts as the original crew because it didn't have a Gellar field.
Listen LT, as many people have pointed out, there is a big gap in the market for high quality WH40k lore content. Others are making content too sure, but none as well as you. I think if you really focus on this type of content your channel would explode in popularity.
@@Luetin09 honestly I hate that your 40k videos are so far apart, but I do agree that you have the highest quality videos in the market. Borderprince is pretty good as well, a good second, and 40ktheories a decent third, but your tyranid video was by a margin the best I've seen yet. I'd suggest applying that template nore often on more of your videos.
As someone who recently subscribed to the channel after stumbling upon these videos, I'd also appreciate more 40k lore content! Prior to that I'd only really known of 40K through name and the iconic space marines. I have no desire to dive into the figurine and videogame side of 40K, but I am absolutely fascinated / hooked by the story and will continue to be on the lookout for new content
@@Naetheras or "I would kill you but always trying to kill you would make me consistent and that's just unacceptable. Off you go, back to your precious Imperium"

When the necrons cleanse all life in the universe than the void will also be cleansed. (No emotion=No Chaos Gods). All hail the necrons, the true saviors.
From the point of view of Necrons and C'tan, yes, that was the plan all along. But one thing they fail to see is that Chaos is also about concepts. While Tzeentch represents time and space, Nurgle represents entropy for example. Or Malice/Malal representing chaos, paradox and the false nature of duality. Chaos Gods are the forces of nature themselves. And that was the undoing of the Emperor of Man in the first place, the delusion that one can command the nature itself. Look at his miserable state of existence, there's much to learn from His misfortune, from trying to fight the inevitable to become the inevitable in the end as in turning into the Chaos God of Order, the thing he fiercly shunned after all.
The secret of Immortality are the true reason but like someone say *To an immortal being, failure is just but an inconvenience.* *Immortality is the only bad thing about immortality...* It makes sense trust me
You should be so proud of the content you create. I randomly decided to look into 40k lore about 6 months ago and stumbled upon your videos. So well done. Your narration works so well to fit the mood of the subject matter. Bravo man!
I was same and it was this bloke who got me in to lore but I not sure where to start with the books .because some them go on about 1st addition to 8th where wood be the best place start ???
Stephen Laine either start with Horus rising to learn how the Horus heresy began or if you want some 8th editon reading i would suggest either guy Haley’s dark imperium or the lords of silence by Chris whright

Good old Grandfather Nurgle, the only one to care for his followers and cute little nurglings. Also love how 1 of his most powerful daemons Nurgle loves because he's such a great incarnation of disease, but the daemon themself is constantly depressed as they became that way by falling into a cauldron with 1 of Nurgles most horrific concoctions being made in it an absorbed it, so hes constantly really unhappy about how he let his dad down. You just don't get that kind of weird family dynamic with the other gods.
Originally it was only a single-headed eagle, but the Imperial Aquila was updated when the treaty of mars was implemented and the Cult Mechanicus joined up. One head represents the Imperium of Man, the other the Machine Cult of Mars.
Tzeentch himself isn't depicted as a two headed bird, that's a speific lord of chance named charios fateweaver. A two headed lord of change that can predict the future, but gives two seperate predictions too what the future would be.
One reason the warp could respond more to negative emotion is that usually positive emotion is short lived, being quickly replaced by neutral or even negative emotion, but deep hatred, bloodlust, etc are much more chronic for many IRL, and undoubtedly even moreso in the 42nd millennium.
Misery is the endpoint. A mind is crushed by trauma, a person shuts down and becomes a vegetable, comatose. Combine it with the innate terror that is usually felt by a being as it dies... and yeah. Horror has left such an impression on the Warp that it now nearly defines it. Vast voids of negative energy sucking down the positive sparks and drowning them quickly.
I think another major difference is concentration. Love happiness and joy are not found frequently in the universe. When they are, it’s usually short lived, compared those other. Even looking at the world today. How does happiness and joy fair against anger, disdain, mortality, scheming. We all have bouts and stretches of those positive emotions, but I would say we have far more of the negative. Whether it’s plotting to get a head at work, intense moments of rage(political, or even day to day like road rage), or doing something out of fear of death/discrimination. What I love about the chaos gods is that they are a exaggerated embodiment of the mortals flaws. I wonder if the universe signed a galactic peace treaty and strictly adhered to the betterment of the universe, if the chaos gods would fall to obscurity by being starved of the very thing that created them…. Chaotic emotion

So, LT, how does it feel to be the God Emperor of 40k Lore videos? You bring no politics, personal biases too one faction or another and write your own script. I can't brag on your work enough.
It is nice to see someone just dig into the lore without getting personal. Too bad he won't be able to maintain the position for ever if the encroaching PC crowd continues to close in on 40k like the Tyranids approaching from the edge of the galaxy.
I love that there's a reasonably popular idea that the movie "event horizon" is 40k canon as it supposedly portrays humans first encounter with the warp.
Only issue with event horizon as 40k lore is that the warp drive was supposedly invented much later. But who cares as far as I care any 40k lore that contradicts event horizon is just imperial ignorance
Yeah I can totally see that being the case, with the event horizons gravity drive punching a hole in SpaceTime and traveling through the area between spaces it would have no protection and no navigation in that subspace area it would become lost and without any kind of mapping or a Geller field to protect it it would become completely overrun with warp entities. I personally think in the warp there are levels to it and with proper navigation you can ride in what could conceivably be considered a safe zone but without the proper navigation you could end up plunging to the deepest parts of it for the real shitty stuff starts to happen and even though you were gone for what seems like 8 or 10 years to the person's within the ship with the graviton drive it could very well be an eternity since you are just getting outside of space time itself. If time doesn't exist then eternity perpetuates but that also means it could be the other way around the people on the ship could have only experienced seconds while everyone outside of the ship experienced years, sort of like time dilation. And as soon as word got out that this happened you can be willing to bet it would stop humans from trying the same shit again until they have a better understanding of what they were trying to accomplish.
I love all the effort you put into these videos. The research, the writing, the narration and atmosphere. It's perfect. It's why I like these videos before I even watch them, I know we're in for some good stuff. one request: maybe a short video on the octarius war, easily the most concerning conflict in the galaxy
Except that despite "all the effort" he refuses to ask for permission (at least of one of the artists) and just plonks a legal disclaimer in the hopes they won't notice it. The deviant artist who made the art 36:39 had no clue he had even used her art in the video until someone notified her of it. Little effort to ask an artist whether or not you can use their stuff yknow. Especially those on Deviantart.
It's not even a joke. The least you can do is give the links to the artists' profile links, as he most likely found them somewhere. Guess this is just another reason to get that ugly DeviantArt watermark on the stuff I make >.>
Alice you need to simmer down, it's not like your picture was the source material/main topic of focus in his video, it's literally there for 2 seconds.
Khorne: Also the God of Honour and Dignity. Tzeentzh: Also the God of Hope, Wisdom and Learning Nurgle: Also the God of mercy, life and the end of suffering Slaanesh: Also the God of Art, beauty and pursuit of mastery/perfecting the former. Every Chaos god also has a positive side. So.. What do you say Children of the Imperium, won't you be so kind and join Chaos undivided? :P.
I'm pretty sure you'll have more fun being a follower of Slaanesh. Sure, it's nice to feel no pain, but even in a universe at war, I'd hate to have my dick rot and fall off.
@@Official_Proxy Slaanesh is like a drug addiction, you feel ultimate pleasure but must endure the worst pains when not directly serving. The followers of Nurgle on the other hand are beings of painless lethargy, indifferent to their physical state.
Dude I never played the table game, nor video game. I’ve never read anything 40k. But I stumbled on this sight, an wow. Anything 40k. I think it was mega cities that was my intro to the page. Keep it up.
Warhammer lore: The world's Middle Ages and humanity's cruelty and violence created Khorne Me looking at the rest of the warhammer universe at that time, the war in the heavens, krorks, all the alien species with multi planet empires slaughtering each other: Sure, primitive humans on one rock with low physic connection caused this....
Warhammer lore is not known for making any sense at all. Like the idea that Nurgle is not always the strongest god in existence (think how many people die from disease/natural causes/old age in a galaxy with billions of planets inhabited by billions)
only because the Gors, dragons, Irolls and many battle mages specifically called Khorne. Knock enough times, the door opens. Then the REAL trouble begins, Cheers
@@pyerack okay, you obviously dont understand the scale. Even in the most devestating total war zones of ww 1 and ww2 only 0.1% of the population was fighting and dying on the front lines. ww1 and ww2 are the most devestating in terms of lives lost conflicts in the history of mankind. there was a pandemic called the spanish flu which killed more then both conflicts combined. take one pandemic on one planet and times that by the million planets in the imperium. How many people die each day to disease and natural causes in the imperium? its an infinitely larger amount then those that die in combat. Think about this mathematically/logically. If this wasnt the case then there would be no one to replace the men dying in combat (which there is, infinite amounts.)
Nurgle is a life god. In the same way we humans view the planet, a virus views the human body. Nurgle does not hold one form of life over the other. A billion humans on a planet brings Nurgle the same joy as a billion plague viruses inside a person. This is why Nurgle protects those who chose to follow him. He is protecting the habitat of his children. Nurgle only ever comes into conflict with the other chaos gods when his children are too numerous and spill into the realms of the other ruinous powers.
And above all he loves and nurtures all his children to contribute in their way to the great work, the rebirth of the universe. through abundant life, then the grand decay, and the nourishment of death and finally the new life yet to come. always in threes.
From this point of view it is heresy to consider all lifeforms equal, and therefore Nurgle embodies communism. Let our plague-ridden comrades bring the holy gift of communism to the False Emperor.
I've never played Warhammer. I've always been a sci-fi geek, so I've been peripherally exposed to tiny bits of Warhammer lore here and there over the years, but never really knew much about it beyond cool looking miniatures and the old Space Hulk DOS game. Stumbled across this video series and I'm blown away. I had no idea that there was so much depth, detail, and history to this universe. Don't know that I'll ever actually play the game, but just as an exercise in pure world-building this is fascinating. Also, my god the artwork in these videos is gorgeous!! There's clearly a LOT of love for this world.
40k lore presents a simple fight between good and evil, then rips the knobs off and goes for broke in terms of scale and severity. This gives artists an excuse to do the same. I used to paint the models and it's crazy how much they call out to be..... finished. You can't look at freshly unboxed parts and not itch to build and paint them. It just seems wrong that they should stay gray plastic when they could be something more.
Having come across several channels with 40K content, I must say that I find your content to be one of the more original, well articulated and well produced work to explain the grim-dark madness that is 40k. Not simply dictation but proper unpacking and revealing of the multiple layers that 40k material is often consisting of. Subscribed and looking forward to working through the rest of your work. Thank you, good Sir.
Came here for some random Warhammer 40K lore, stayed for philosophical thoughts about chaos residing in every one of us. Humanity is CHAOS. CHAOS is humanity.
Had no connection whatsoever to Warhammer, but I can't stop watching your lore videos over and over. The story, the pictures, your narration, it's all so awesome! Thx for creating these!
I read a theory in Gaunt's Ghosts that chaos corrupts us not by imbuing us with rage, or lust, or whatever- but by seeking those qualities already within us and expanding them. Like picking at an already-loose thread, rather than loosening one itself. Every human has these qualities within them in varying amounts, no matter how small, and chaos simply magnifies them. Which is why it's so insidious. Because you can't hide from, nor fully suppress, your nature...
Luetin: as for me, well, the Inquisitors are here *loads bolt pistol* I’ll see you on the other side, friend. Remember what you have learned today Fade to black
This video is monumentally good, you really took your time into everything about it, and in my opinion you are unmatched by any Warhammer lore channel in both content and atmosphere.
The way I think about Chaos vs. human nature is that Chaos represents unhealthy extremes, whereas human existence thrives on moderation. So for example having honour is good, but if you're overly fixated on honour you might turn to khorne; wisdom is good but obsessing over it turns you to Tzeench, etcetera. This is the idea behind yin and yang IRL, where it's not really about good and evil, but balanced vs. unbalanced; either yin or yang can be bad if there's too much of either. As for where the positive energy goes, my theory is that it goes to The Emperor. I believe that Emps became/was trying to become/is still trying to become the Warp god of humanity, with his defining characteristic being simply human-ness, just like Gork and Mork for the Orks. In this way I like to think the phrase "The Emperor protects" refers less to divine intervention than the idea that when uncorrupted humans die their souls join The Emperor instead of being consumed.
To me, the Chaos Gods represent also the good in the mortal races. Just, there is so little compared to the evil, that nobody even notices, not even the Chaos Gods themselves.
"In some respect, elements of the chaos gods and what they represent, are actually positive, depending of your point of reference..." - Inquisitor Adrastia wants to know your location.
Actually, Abaddon and Zardu Laylak were fine in their presence which disturbed the former Not all Sons of Horus were blessed by Chaos by the time of the Siege
I find, in my headcannon, that the warp and entities therein are best expressed as an emotional mirror to the collective thoughts, emotions, and intentions that the galaxy's inahabitants express. I'm playing in a Black Crusade game, and my gm has a really cool perspective that the Warp entities out there will often engage with you based off of who you are, and how you percieve them (to a degree). I'm playing a World Eater that wants to try and get the remnants of his legion back together, and he has had arguments with many heretics he runs into because he believes that the gods are who you believe them to be, and if you decide to be better, so will they (proportionally). He's basically an honorbound warrior trying to deal with the nails in his head that eat at his humanity. It's been cool because the "blessings" he gets from Khorne are very reflective of who he is and what he believes, thus a reflection of his emotions/beliefs. It's a cool way to look at it I think.
That is a very cool idea. After all, it's the sentience and emotions of living races (Humanity mostly) that brought the chaos gods to live and can easily change based on which emotion is stronger or which mood is dominant
The problem is that the Chaos gods are sentient, normal love, even if not done in the name of Slaanesh, does give him/her/it power. But he/her/it wants more, the goal is that you give yourself completely to it until it become wrong.. fanatic worship... a love so savage that you end up murdering your desired and wear their skin. And the sadness of having murdered your love will feed Slaanesh even further. And the same goes for every other Chaos God, the fact that they are sentient and want more of their assigned emotions and actions is what makes them so "evil". Because everything good in excess can be turned horrible
Or more, that they have no boundaries and if freely allowed will mutate your mind, body and soul, and even intire society in order to glorify themselves through the lense of your very being. Then that the daemon you'll inevitably become is infact a demi avatar of the chaos god that its aligned to. To follow a chaos god is to become a chaos god, not an apotheosis, but an absorption.
You're the first content creator I've seen addresssing the absence of "Light" gods in 40k. Props. I've always wondered about this, but I think the charm of the world stems from being so grim-dark. The addition of entities of Order in the warp would lessen this aesthetic and probably rob the spotlight from the Imperium.
There is and could never be order in the warp even when it was the realm of souls before the war in heaven it was bereft or order. random is the natural state of well everything material and immaterial.
"it's like humans views are orks, being war hungry, violent and barbaric." Well they are, that's kind of their whole stick. They live for battle due to instinct, they are savage, barbaric beasts. Just because they are savage barbaric beasts due to instinct, doesn't stop that from being a thing. One could argue that such barbarism for only instinct makes them an even worse being, they are literal natural sadists in a very large sense in that way, just on a species level scale. Does something stop being evil just because it comes natural to them? They commit evil acts on a daily basis, so is that not evil? Sure they aren't evil for evil's sake, but it still sounds pretty evil. At least empire of man does it for survival, there's a cause, a reason that isn't just causes pain and death for the sake of it.
Is cancer, or a hurricane, or a bear evil? I guess you can look at it that way, but I would say that to give something moral judgement it needs to be capable of morality in the first place. The difference between Orks' and humans' actions is that humans are very adaptable, we could be many different things, and do things in many different ways, even our own history of this world demonstrates that. Orks don't really have that to my knowledge, in every appearance they seem to be essentially the same thing
@@rustyshackleford6874 I mean orcs can think, if something can think it's not a force of nature. For example, a psychopath who is naturally a sadist, gets off on hurting other people thanks to upbringing or a fuck up in genetics, something they don't exactly have control over, are they evil? Who decides how much of a choice something gets before that's enough of a choice, sure no choice at all is an obvious yeah that wasn't evil, but even that could be argued, if someone put a gun to another man's head and told him to rape a child, and he did so to live, would he be good or evil? He had a choice, there's always a choice, it's just what we see as preferable. I'd personally take the bullet and I see the person who didn't as a coward, who at least committed an evil act. Thing is, the orc wouldn't even think about it. They'd just do because it was fun, we call pedophiles evil even though generally speaking it's seen as a mental disorder(or society as a whole does.), are they? They don't have the choice to feel what they do. I still find them evil though. Orcs can think, but even if they didn't a hurricane doesn't kill for pleasure or fun, neither does cancer or a bear. Once it does, you can compare orcs to them for me. Natural evil, chosen evil, evil's still evil, philosophies fun but often in simple matters it makes things complex for the sake of complexity.
Honestly Luetin I only watch your 40k Lore videos. And I watch them multiple times. I often just listen to them while I work. Anything you put out in 40K I will watch so I hope you increase how much 40k lore you do over other vids. Though I bet they take longer to make
My favorite part about these videos is when the start and finish is incredible loud compared to the rest and it immediately wakes me up in case I fall asleep while watching. I love bleeding from my ears
Sure, I follow the other big WH40K lore channels. They're allright. But none of them come close to the quality of your videos. It's not just the excellent choice of artwork and music used or the way you tackle the subject in question. It's also your voice and the way you speak. It is...in a lack of another word...soothing. It is not Morgan Freeman, but you come pretty close...
ZeroneAngel Same for me I’ll watch arch or 40k theories but Lt has the best lore videos out there and I’ll stop watching any of their videos to go watch a new lore from Lt.
While his production quality is fantastic, it certainly doesn't help that OnemindSyndicate is a monotone dullard who repeats himself constantly while just skimming through the wikis. It's not hard to be the best when the competition is so bad, which is a shame because Luetin09 is great.
I wouldn’t call Oculus Imperia a “big” channel, and his videos tend to be in the 15-25 minute range, but I think he actually matches Luetin as far as narration goes. I don’t know of any other channels that present the lore from an in-universe perspective as well as Oculus does.
i definitely appreciate the fact that you touched on the human conception of "light vs darkness" at the end there, definitely an old trope that doesn't always hold up and reinforces some not-great ideas. awesome video, i've been really enjoying this entire playlist.
There is so much heresy in this video. You truly have been lost to Chaos. Great video! This was very entertaining and well done. I'd love to hear you talk about the Grey Knights or specific Astartes Chapters.
Imagine being a space marine against an army of nurgle Hoards of revolting corpses shambling towards you, and despite their ghastly grins seem to show absolute despair, bloat drones lazily hovering above the ground, plague bearers lumbering over as their guys spill out, muttering lists and tallies, the wretched buzz of millions of flies fill the air, and a horrid stench drifts across the battle field
Plagued Marines aren't slow at all. They are just extra tough and extra deadly Veteran Plagued Marines still use cover fire and squad tactics as well as any vehicles they have
Games workshop dont have a clue how to comunicate with ITS fanbase. I.m 100% sure they wouldent Know what to do with this. Also. They are to busy making more super space marines for Chaos.
Excellent use of music, gives the feeling of total, ultimate defeat. That you’re on your knees, no power left, as the dark powers prepare to corrupt and torture your very soul. And all you can do is gaze at the infinite power, and weep.
The only good news about Chaos is when they're done you get to come back stronger. There's nothing that can't be...... _improved_ with a little demonic power.
This video made me fall in love with 40K and you made me a fan. Everytime you upload a new video I get exited for a new adventure into the lore with a different perspective than most lore video's. And the intro of this one is just epic perfection. Slaanesh would be proud.
"Hey, it's Nick, your neighbour. I heard some Chaos references through the wall. How about we talk a little bit about our Lord and Savior Papa Nurgle? I brought some cookies with me..."
You have revolutionized warhammer 40k for me. I'm a 1 week old newb and I'm completely head over heals in love with warhammer. I play a tech adept on Xbox wahammer 40k inquisitor and was hungering for more knowledge and lore, its like listening to an amazing audio book! Thankyou
I like how how that the 3 chaos gods manifested because humanity is violent, disgusting and hungers for knowledge. While the Aeldari was just being kinky.
I don't own or play the games of 40k, but I did play/read it for a couple of months with a friend who'd become a 40k zealot. Unfortunately said friend moved away as I myself became a bit of an addict. Although this being the case, it's certainly never left me. The lore and imagination is exceptionally vast and awesome. During my brief affair with the franchise, I totally fell in love with Chaos. The sheer amount of ideas and complexities it has is great. Both playing and reading about this 'faction' filled my mind with both joy and horror. I really aught to find away of getting back into it..
I would love to see your take on the new Indominus Crusade from right before Guilliman woke up to present in the universe. And a full-length Tau video would be great as well.

I was not even that into the lore of WH40K, but I decided to play your videos in the background while at work and I'm legit hooked. Keep up the good work bro.
One has to also take into account that the 40k universe is usually told from the Imperial perspective. Chaos is a potential, and thus is neutral, neither good nor bad. One can consider the Chaos followers as freedom fighters.
Nah Chaos is pretty evil. Enslaving yourself to eldritch abominations with alien personas that for the most part (excepting Nurgle and maybe Slaanesh on a good day) don't actually care or give a shit about their followers well being and just see them as fuel/snax. Even Daemon princes are just high ranking slaves who are even more closely shackled to their respective patrons after having a good chunk of their humanity and free will sloughed away so they can better serve as extensions of their masters wills. You could make a similar argument of the Imperium, but the Big E EVENTUALLY wanted to slowly evolve humans into self-sufficient "enlightened" (lord knows Empy had plenty of derp) superhumans like himself. And the current Imperium is run by other mortal humans who, even if they're corrupt self serving shitbags (Hive Nobles, Nepotistic lord generals, and the Council of Terra) will eventually die and be replaced...and every once in a while they get replaced by someone good (Sebastian Thor, Macharius, Creed, etc.) So while neither Chaos nor the Imperium are truly "Good," the Imperium at least is the approximation of good within the context of 40k, whereas Chaos only looks good when compared to the mindless slaving of the Old lore Necrons (or brainless consumption of the Tyranids). Still, I would enjoy if the writers remembered once in a while that the chaos gods have noble traits too, such as Khorne who despises the slaughter of the meek. Maybe write a story where a Khornate warband slaughters all the defenders of a planet but leaves the children, thus causing a Lord of the Flies/Mad Max type situation where the children grow up into roving warbands fighting violently over resources. That way it's both honourable AND ultimately more productive! Is it nothing more but a sentient construct, or has it existed far longer than consciousness first appeared? If so, how does one 'party'? Should we flail our fleshy, meaty appendages wildly in a rhythmic pattern, in accordance to a 'beat'? Can one even 'party' without a 'beat'? What is the purpose of 'party'? A celebration? Of whom? Where did 'party' originated? Is there a progenitor of 'party'? An inventor? Questions come, and questions go. Will there ever be an answer? Who knows? Do I know? I don't know? Who asks these questions, or should I say, who would answer these questions? Are these even questions? What is a question? The curiousity spoken? Who would even seek the answers? And If you do, then who planted the questions? So many questions, so little time. Or is there such a thing as 'time'? In the realm of the Immaterium, is there even such a thing as questions? Is there such a thing as answers? Who would answer a question unasked? Who would ask a question whose answer is nonexistent? Tzeentch. Is He the answer? Or was He the question? Such insignificant things, made important, but is anything important at all? Is insignificance even real, or is every single aspect of reality unhinged, and untampered a planned placement possessing potent plausibilities? Possibly, perhaps? How does your depraved God even compare to one of great thought, and knowledge? Does it even matter? You're all pawns either way... or are you? So many questions, will there be time?

Its not 40ks numbers that make them unbeatable. Its the fact that they have literal gods interfering in the affairs of the galaxy. I know how to best everyone but the Chaos Faction. This is why its next to impossible to defeat them. Youd have to be able to convince the gods to completely ignore the galaxy, or employ The One Above All from Marvel to kill them, which is absolutely impossible.
I've heard (and like) the idea that the legion of the damned are "Daemons" of the imperium representing hope, dedication , loyalty and salvation. Good work, keep it up!
I had similar thoughts! No matter how grim, dark and hopeless the future of the 40k universe is, humans, Tau, eldar etc strive to survive and are hopeful of defeating the ridiculous and overpowered beings threatening their existence. If there is ever any positive being that is to be created in Chaos I would bet on a being that feeds on hope, survival and salvation. Really powerful stuff as a number of race are on the brink of extinction and all they have is hope!!!

BIG FAN HERE!!! luetin im quite new in warhammer, but can you explain the grey knights?
What's this? A 40K lore video that isn't just a verbatim reading of a wiki article? And it actually delves into the metaphysics and theories of the setting, offering different viewpoints and encouraging the viewer to think outside the box instead of just accepting the insufferably boring dualistic good/evil relationship that humanity has with Chaos?

I personally think too many Warhammer 40k games focus too much on The Imperium and the Astartes, we need more games that puts more focus on Chaos, Orks and others.

Negative emotions are psychologically stronger than positive ones, but we feel positive ones more often
It takes 1000 times as long to put yourself back together again than it does to fall apart

I love that there's a reasonably popular idea that the movie "event horizon" is 40k canon as it supposedly portrays humans first encounter with the warp.
That's why I'm here. I only knew a little bit about Warhammer, but this 40k lore is awesome.

I think Emperor represents bureaucracy and power structures. It's literally in his name: one person ruling an incomprehensibly large entity.
To me, the Chaos Gods represent also the good in the mortal races. Just, there is so little compared to the evil, that nobody even notices, not even the Chaos Gods themselves.
And you would be totally wrong

"...Angels to some, demons to others..."
*loud squinting*
You might wanna dial back that heresy. The God-Emperor is everywhere.
No he isn't he's interned on the golden throne on Terra where he's been for the last ten millenia.
They are pure form of desire without moral codes or limitations. It’s understandable if anything excessive will turn bad

Spoken like a true member of the Imperium.

How about this : there's a problem, let's solve it. And we will worry about all that philosophical crap later if at all
Of course you're a catholic

One has to also take into account that the 40k universe is usually told from the Imperial perspective. Chaos is a potential, and thus is neutral, neither good nor bad. One can consider the Chaos followers as freedom fighters.
Your choice of avatar leads me to suspect bias on your part.
And the current Imperium is run by other mortal humans who, even if they're corrupt self serving shitbags (Hive Nobles, Nepotistic lord generals, and the Council of Terra) will eventually die and be replaced...and every once in a while they get replaced by someone good (Sebastian Thor, Macharius, Creed, etc.)
So while neither Chaos nor the Imperium are truly "Good," the Imperium at least is the approximation of good within the context of 40k, whereas Chaos only looks good when compared to the mindless slaving of the Old lore Necrons (or brainless consumption of the Tyranids).
(Khorne approved)
But no...gotta have the Khorne Boys wipe out every god damn thing on the planet including little baby skulls, because grimderp...
True, except the chaos entities and followers tend to always prefer doing super horrible stuff. Thus, they slip from neutrality and become evil.
