THANK YOU! I took my set apart to sharpen the blades, dropped that little pin, and was sooo baffled! Until I found your video I was going to buy a new set of shear blades just to see how they are supposed to be assembled!
Thanks for the info! Would never have figured that out, theres no mention of that pin anywhere! Now i just need to figure out where to find a replacement pin, there's no part number in the assembly schematic
Thank you so much! I had not realized after messing with it for hours that you had to reverse the inner piece for the hedge trimmers. Thank you for helping.
Thank so much for posting this. I found my pin under my work bench (I guess it dropped out when I removed the blades for sharpening..after which, the shears did not cut well at all) and promptly installed it into my cutter. They cut perfectly now!
Dammit, you are my hero! I coundn’t really figure out if it really goes there where it goes. I was so worried if iz is going to take me yet two three weeks to call Makita and to sort it out. You are a dude!
Thanks Scott - I had the identical problem (jammed on a piece of mulch) …found the pin under the lip of the trimmer housing - saved me a ton of hassle (or cost of replacement).
😆 not even close to once did he say he "Lost" that pin & he also did not say he had to replace the pin.... lol - yet so many of you asked where to get a new pin from 😅 Pay attention people Thanks for the video mate, i also didnt loose my pin & only required the location destination for it Thanks to so many people that left comments that entertained me, i bet you were all pissed he didnt tell you the magic place to find a new pin 🤣
Hey. I am thinking about buying one. I alrrady have a string trimmer which is awesome but bit bulky sometimes and awkward to trim grass at some spots etc. Do you think this grass shear will be better than the trimmer? Many thanks for your input
