Honestly, I fee its pretty canonical that each of the house leaders are at least a little in love with the protagonist, regardless of gender, in each of the routes.
I think what annoys me about this not being in the game is that not only can you romance Edelgard as either gender if you pick Black Eagles, but Rhea head of the Church route and (though I wish she wasn’t) Sothis were also romanceable as F!Byleth. Which means that of the five most plot important characters all three of the women were bi but NEITHER of the men. At least let it be an option for all the characters you’re supposed to get the closest to! Heck, this is the BL route. Thank YOU for this work of art.
Nocte Garden Don’t get me wrong, I’m really happy there are a few lesbian options, and that the character’s they’re with are well written. I just wish there were a few more options for the guys, and I do think all three lords should have been options for either gender. Especially given how the dialogue and circumstances don’t change at all, so you have a bunch of ship-teasy moments that can only go anywhere if you play as a woman. Assuming no changes were made even this dialogue was completely gender neutral! It should have been a no-brainer! Oh well, maybe next time. On a side note, I think the Alois option is particularly annoying. I actually wanted to choose him for a platonic ending but then remembered the end text says you married anyway. Ugh. (Also Catherine and Seteth should have totally been gay options)

I understand that guys like to see lesbian relationships and game developers lean toward to that perspective of most games. But, what about the other people who want gay or trans, or bi people in games? And like you said the far as they go in gay relationship is platonic or romancing a certain person you don't want to. Just like with Persona 5, you can romance all these girls(even your teacher) but the high as y ok u can go in a male relationship is a crush! A freaking crush! Its ridiculous to me.

It sucks because the Blue Lions route so was clearly written as a romance so having no way to marry him as m!Byleth was really jarring. So thanks for putting this together, hopefully one day there’s a full out mod for this 😢
Nunya Business well imo compared to Golden Deer (halfway thru Black Eagles rn so I cant give much input on them quite yet) Byleth’s motivation is more so about finding out who they are and saving Fódlan. Blue Lions is more like a contained short story about Dimitri and helping him. A large chunk of what happens and motivates Byleth in GD isn’t at all present in BL. Plus “sad boy needs saving and the only person that can do it is you and now oh no I caught feelings” is like OG love story tropes

So, like you said, it's kind of out of place to NOT have the final S support scene with him.

Things is it's probably not that hard to program. They literally changed no dialogue for Male and Female Byleth outside of some small situations like when we as Byleth faint. Other than that, everything the 3 lords say to us refer to gender neutral. Also I know people argued that "Small and Fragile" hands thing being a Female Byleth thing, but guys can have small hands too so... Oh and also Dimitri in general just had bigger hands than both Byleths I'm pretty sure. You can see so in the ending cutscene especially.

Yeah, 10 month old comment, but I can’t help but type my agreement. It feels like a lot more effort for less effect. Having to give F!Byleth more options than M!Byleth feels like a step-back to what they wanted to do when they added more options. Atleast they added more with time, but they’re DLC content & ones behind a paywall. All the lords have atleast once expressed their love for Byleth no matter their gender, yet only Edelgard is able to be romanced as the same gender. It seems almost intentional how F!Byleth can romance all the lords, but M!Byleth can only romance one. Maybe in the next game they can make the options more equal, but this time felt like a loss.

And it doesn't change a single damn thing in the story with slight buffs in gameplay. There's no reason to keep anyone from marrying anyone else unless the artists and voice actors just felt uncomfortable in which case that's their own issue to work out.
I think Dimitri is "straight" out of necessity. He's king after all, and Faerghus's throne system is hereditary. Unlike Edelgard who wants to change the Empire's throne system to be based on merit, Dimitri doesn't seem to want to change anything. Surrogacy is an option though, assuming it's a thing in Fodlan and the royal heir has no additional requirements to be related by blood to the king's spouse.
I'm definitely convinced he has a thing for Byleth regardless of gender tbh Dimitri would be the kind of king who wants to pass on his royal bloodline but I bet if he wasn't royalty he'd like Byleth man or woman
100% sure hed be the time to do the surrogacy thing, like his father wouldve had he already not been born after his mothers death. besides hes become a "follow your heart" guy by the end of the route
Well they have since added a couple more options, and while Jeritza is a character I find thoroughly meh and is unfortunately route-tied I’m sure he has his fans, and more power to them. Yuri you unfortunately have to pay for (I wish I knew how to word that better) but he’s flippin’ great and is probably one of my favourite characters by now. Kinda wish Sothis wasn’t an option or was platonic, but I’m pretty happy with the rest. Do wish Catherine and Manuela were wlw options, but I guess we can’t have it all. And all the lords should definitely have been bi.
Like, why not make all the house leaders bi? Or, everyone that can be romance-able for that matter? It won’t matter none in this game, since each installment is a blurry snapshot in “what if’s” continuing onward to each subsequent game. It feels like they missed an opportunity to do just that with this game, with how open ended it is. Same could be said about Fates, and Awakening.

Well they have since added a couple more options, and while Jeritza is a character I find thoroughly meh and is unfortunately route-tied I’m sure he has his fans, and more power to them. Yuri you unfortunately have to pay for (I wish I knew how to word that better) but he’s flippin’ great and is probably one of my favourite characters by now.
Kinda wish Sothis wasn’t an option or was platonic, but I’m pretty happy with the rest. Do wish Catherine and Manuela were wlw options, but I guess we can’t have it all.
