Desing wise is a pretty cool boss, but feels super easy to be the final boss of a game like this. I think I have literally fight harder road battle than that boss.
You could make the argument that the way to this boss is the hardest due to it being 5th confession, so they made him easier than other confession bosses to account for that.
@@DJcs187 I literally just completed the fifth act right now; literally any random fight in the foetor (that turned out to be the last area) was harder than the final boss; geez, even the lair boss was harder to beat. I also ended up runing out of flame right before the last cultist battle before the last inn so I had to figth 2 exemplars in a row; that was significally harder than anything that boss could do. I did not even enter death's door a single time and my stress never went higher than 7. As I said, too easy compared to the rest of the game. Which, is not bad cause the rest is literally brutally unfair, the foetor crossbow guy deals up to 20 party wide damage + a bleed for no reason whatsoever.
@@daleodorito I think it's more to do with setup as well. You enter this battle almost fresh from the inn after receiving your final mastery points, buffing yourself up with whatever you need specifically for this fight and setting up with the right skills etc. and also 100 flame, no loathing. The issue with any random fight is just that: They are anything and random. You're hardly ever prepared correctly and even if you know for example that you intend to fight a lair boss, the 2 fights before that might mess you up real good. Or in my case, you make it out ok after the lair boss, but then get destroyed by an Antiquarian or something similar. To me, 3rd confession was the hardest, because loathing and elites ramp up but the boss is also quite tough, whereas I beat 4th and 5th on the first try despite still missing skills on some heroes and not exactly knowing what to do. I'm also good with them just feeling that the last boss is more about telling a story (or rather finishing telling it) than about making it as difficult as possible.
@@DJcs187 Is okey as it is, I just expected a harder challenge for a literal eldritch god, when a single attack from a random guy can deal 60% of your tank's health with ease
Damn dude if this is your playthrough than you did a bad job, made the fight way harder than it should have been. Your people need to be able to attack instead of being pure support from distance, always have at least one attack that can hit the front row.
And tbh, I just beat this with a Wanderer Flagellant who didn't even have a single attack equipped, only support skills (+ Jester, Highwayman, Grave Robber)
Yeah I honestly found this surprisingly easy, maaaybe it’s because I had two characters (pd and gr to be specific) who were blight focused (gr not much so since she was deadeye).
Hey dude, just posting this now since I saw this earlier. The game hasn’t been out long and you kinda posted the final boss in the thumbnail and the title. You could have just said final boss. I know you probably didn’t mean any harm but it’s not really cool to do that.
Imo they failed the final boss compared to the first game. Only thing going for it is it looks cool. The 4 stage ancestor/heart fight was BRUTAL in the first game. Even knowing what you were doing, it still could go south fast. This one seemed like it was kinda a joke. The first 2 stages of the fight seemed like just beatdowns. The final fight was basically kill adds hit boss a little repeat until death.....wooooo.
@@roguegamer1251 Ohh I am not saying the fight is hard if you know what you are doing. But that first time doing it, you weren't winning first try. This legit doesn't have strategy, just hit til it dies is what I meant.
This is harder than Heart of Darkness. The only two mechanics from Heart of Darkness that can actually get messy are Come Unto Your Maker and situational positioning from the Ancestor. Most of the damage was easily negated because 95% of the DD1 groups would have the same vestal or even occultist. Body of Work, while not very oppressive either, shows up after softening you with cultist pulls, and some phases and mechanics will really annoy you depending on your build (I did it with toxic Plague Doctor, ranged Grave Robber, basic Flagellant and 1st line dps Hellion, and the first phase really did numbers on my team because of its blight ressistance). Plus, the denial mechanic can really fuck up your plans. I personally was a lot more tense this time because it was actually hard to keep the team alive and still push damage and fight stress.
It's not though. It's different sure, but still quite good. As someone who spent way too much time with the previous game, some people seem to easily gloss over all the mistakes DD1 made and ignore all its weaknesses. The roguelike format felt much less punishing and having no deadline that could end a whole playthrough was much less stressful. And having to raise at least 3 separate groups of heroes to finish the dungeon in the end was incredibly annoying. Imo, most people who are this negative about DD2 have played about 25 hours of the first one and never even came close to finishing it.
homie took 30 seconds to decide on literally every single move for every character bruh
And lost half the party bruh
And made the wrong ones still lol
The heroes are essentially taking it literal with the term "Imma fight these thoughts."
You should equip Controlled Burn for Runaway. That's potentially the best skill against bosses.
Wow, I was not expecting that

On the other hand, even getting there with this playstyle is an accomplishment I guess. 60 minute video. :'D

high intensity therapy for a god that wants to die and needs to die.

The name is only visible if you click on the video. So that's not a problem
That's such a bad comp
It does have flagelant tho, which is a one man good comp

Pretty sure the final boss for the original dd was also pretty easy.

What a stupid looking boss compared to the first game
They are both eldritch monstrosities, I honestly don't see a difference in much, besides colors.
Man that game is such a downgrade

This game is terrible. No wonder why it flopped so hard.
