There's actually a couple of very weird glitches in this scenario. In archery range you can create imp. skirms from the start of the game, however the game tells you that you can research imp. skirm. anyway, same with rattans.
Amazing job you did. It took me lots of tries and my final try took 4 hours to finish it. My alternative way: Take all your troops to the southern city and build your economy there. Take all the troops in the beginning and cross the southern bridge to take down the first teal city. Also wall the east of your city right away and once you took teals first base, also wall the bridge und build a castle there. Cavalry and Skirmishers will be very useful, because you boost your economy a lot on wood and food once you run out of gold and stone. After I took down teals southern base and went back north to the original base was (by now it should be destroyed). Build a lot of stables, shooting ranges and workshops there. Go for a lot of trash units, bombards and take down teals northern base. This is very tricky and took me many waves, but it should work. There is lots of gold in the northern parts of the map, so go there and clean it, once teal is down. Then blue should be a piece of a cake. Yes infinite units, but with bombards, trash and maybe 60 rattan archers, you should take down the city pretty fast. Go for the bombard towers and military buildings. Of course, always take care of your city and build more walls. When you get attacked, always go for cavalry to kill the trebs and skirmishers to deal with the rest.
Unable to deal with this with 2 bases, for me, just focus on only one base(south) with wall to reroute the enemies to only one path(right side). Easier that way.
This was a bit daunting but it's manageable. A few defensive castles, build the economy and spam the hell out of the enemies with light cav and rattan archers with some trebs and rams to take out buildings.

i took a look at the scripts, and it seems that the AI cheats mainly by gaining resources on a timer, and there are other timers for them to gain a little extra if they are low on resources. i assume that's why the enemy spam is still relatively manageable, and why the score doesn't go to the moon (as in the tariq campaign). i actually quite enjoyed this whole campaign, honestly - or maybe that's because i played it after the tariq one :p
I just finished this campaign on silver difficulty and was able to pretty easily roll through this mission with massive armies of Rattan Archers, Cavs, and trebs. I had an army for the left side and an army for the right side, and it was very satisfying laying siege to the cities from both sides.
So they got rid of the "I'm Wang Tong 11" twist... Any idea as to why the scenario custscene get less details now (I've noticed it for Sundjata and Gajah Mada as well)
Imo those cut-scenes were preeeetty long. I think as far as writing goes, they should be able to find a happy medium between those old ones and the 4 sentences of the new le loi 11
oh gosh, this mission gave me hell!!! I barely won this scenario with 15-20 rattan archers and two trebuchets to destroy the last castle at the north-west after my whole army where almost completely obliterated by swarms of enemies from all sides...
Niall Yuxin Xie you can always wall one side and concentrate your forces (and attention) on the other. Foot archers or elephants are not good at mobility. I basically rushed the right side of vanguard and wall off the road after destroying the tc, it’s just 4 tiles of stone walls since the ai doesn’t know to delete their own walls.
I killed the Ming vanguard on the right relatively early after fending off an initial attack but left the vanguard camp on the left alive to the end... big mistake. I didn't notice most of the troops defending the central fortress were actually the vanguard's forces and not the army and made it way more tedious than I needed to. Legit had to resort to a lot of trash units to avoid running out of gold for elephants/siege since I wasn't sure how much was on the map.
Yeah the Chinese invented the earliest block printing methods. However, it was actually Korea that invented the form of block printing that would become widely popular :P With that said, in no way do Chinese in AoE2 need Block Printing because it makes them much less weak to one of their main counters - Onagers
@@OrnLu_AoE In your opinion, does it matter much that the Chinese can't use hand cannons despite inviting gunpowder? I typically use the archer line over them so I don't know if not having them is a huge disadvantage.
do u not know u can hold ctrl to place farms instead of clicking the hotkey over and over? i'm sure you do but cant see why spamming the key would be preferred

Idk I just saw when he sent the whole elephant army with trebs to the bottom base and meanwhile did Eco and they cleaned it all by themselves. I did that too, triued to even micro and couldnt get a single building down before they ran me over, converted like 5 elephants and then killed me with those :D
Yes they have made many missions harder i just played this and they send alot more units than wolf got. tho its not a very hard one. defend until idk 90-100 vills depends on how you play but i do, then all you need is Rattan and Trebs. push both sides support with light cav.

4 town centers is must in this mission to bum your economy i did like this i atacked ming vanguard camp with castle first than i build siege workshops for bombard canons to take out 2 castles in other camp soon as you do that you get litle realief ming vanguard wont produce trebuchets while ming blue atacks but not that mich like vanguard i garrison cavarlies to wait for blue ming trebs while 3 castles used arrows on ranged units while cavarly to take out trebuchets
I just played this one on hard level (08.2024) and initial attacts are much more massive. Not like in here. Any changes in AI difficulty in this? I even couldn`t rebuild base at the beginning. Building walls helped but it`s not how this mission should be played. Not like in yours.

I tried to build forwards but the IA destroyed my buildings everytime. What did the creators have in mind when they made this campaign ? For the other campaign, I would say that Bayinnung and Suyavarman are pretty good. Le Loi is boring so is Gaja Mada.

I think the scenario has changed slightly. After the original fight, you’re not left with enough army to take on the south base.

@@TLshadow1997 It's not normally a problem at all. Chinese just use Chu Ko Nu and they shred every infantry unit that isn't a huskarl or eagle warrior

Yup! He was very much a general for the Ming during the Lam Son uprising (which is the basis for this campaign)

The whole Le Loi campaign is terrible. Heck, most of the SE Asia campaigns are horrendous.
