As my master frequently liked to say "Kung fu is the study of the mind" not the body; not the musculature (although strength and structure are important) the heart-mind, the intention, the "spirit"? is the most important, and is where true power comes from. Once you "get it" you can apply it to any discipline...The only point of difference, for me, with what he is saying, is that I wouldn't translate this feeling as "relaxation"---the feeling is usually translated this way, in English, but I feel that what we should be saying instead, is "openness" You need to be open; your whole body, inch by inch.
