I did a high c on a tournament as a blue belt and got immediate guillotined hard. Thankfully i escaped ,got the 2 ,but my neck was fucked so i couldn't risk shooting again in the finals
In my experience I don’t get guillotined much on the high c. You have to set it up well and not end up on both knees after the shot(that’s where a lot of people mess up) keep cutting the corner on the shot, look across the back and come up to your feet fast. Knowing how to chain wrestle and force and wrestle from a crackdown will also help. Someone looks for your neck, crackdown, hop to the other side and the choke becomes way less of an issue.
You kinda disregarded the judo/judo-esque takedowns and the detail and just called them all a hip toss, it varies way more in how you can do it and how it can be used better and what you can do with the different ones
I teach a takedown class at our BJJ school. It's mostly no gi judo and greco wrestling moves. Single legs and double leg takedowns are overrated. I've seen so many beginners do them and get guilltoned or front head lock. Shots are better suited for wrestling and MMA then submission wrestling. I don't even teach them anymore. Sure they work good if you've been wrestling for a few years but most BJJ players haven't. Ankle picks, knee picks, and uchi mata and body locks throws are the best in my opinion.
Crazy how judo is completely ignored when BJJ comes from Judo, yet judo is discredited, you should go watch sakuraba’s no gi tournament, catch wrestlers vs judoka’s vs BJJ, all in no gi, and guess who dominated the takedowns/defense? Judoka’s did, khabib, greatest grappler in UFC history, guess what he said? Judo is better than wrestling, islam, current #1 PFP in UFC, guess what he uses? That’s right Judo
@@gogobabe3079 judo gets so overlooked it’s insane, Judo is better than folkstyle wrestling, it’s not even up for question, only ignorant people who have never trained, watched, or fought against a judoka will say otherwise, Judo is a true martial art, wrestling isn’t even a proper martial art, they fight all hunched for starters, try going into a street fight hunched over, judo grapples standing up right, why? i really like knee picks, throw bys and snap downs. feel like they don't have much neck exposure and w throw bys you can also get back control. what do you think?
Good questions. Gotta make a part 2. But they both low risk and good specific situations. Nothing wrong with throw by and snaps for an opponent pushing ridiculously. Knee picks are one of those lazier shots that lower the risk but you might pull something off. It’s like throwing a jab.
Solid move, but it can get countered with another drag. I would avoid front trips, but recommend back trips and foot sweeps from there. I avoided putting that in the video because I consider it a set to a takedown or it’s just used as sweep/guard pull to take the back.
knew the blast double would be #1,bby far the highest percentage takedown. The only downside of it is that it's mean and you'll lose friends in the training room
Like I said you are giving you opponent angles to choke you. I’d rather just duck under and go for the back. When you get more into bjj you will realize that working smarter not harder helps.

make a tier list over best takedowns against bigger opponents!
