I’m a white belt one of the first I moves I learned was the electric chair watching Eddie bravo stuff. Now that I’ve been training for about a year I don’t really do it anymore, but even when I did do it I’d usually use it as a pass. These days I’m more focused on getting and maintaining certain positions. If I can get there and hold it for a second or two I’ll try a sub. Mostly working collar chokes and armbars atm. But really just focusing on top pressure as I’ma lighter grappler about 140ibs. And working on different ways to take back control .
@@kvc2064no bro the bow and arrow has a big problem. If you remove the hand from the pants you are out of the submission. Look at roger gracie talk about it, much better to stick with the normal gi choke from the back
Twister and banana split are so good when you have a good back game. They try to defend by going to one side and thats when and tbh the only time someone should be going for a twister
This should be renamed submissions I like or for a certain body type. For example, the north south choke is one of the easiest submissions that presents itself everywhere to me. I literally don’t do it because I can hit it at will.
One day I hope to learn it from you mr SquidFox9! If you could give us some tips it would be highly appreciated. As stated at the start of the video, definitely a biased ranking.
Would you count body locks as a valid submission? I've especially seen smaller, stockier guys get a lot of success with it. (Jordan Teaches Jiujitsu speaks about them quite often as well.) Seen some ribs get popped with this one-
@@kn_av I use it to sweep or sometimes from closed guard I'll do a kind of body/kidney lock (I think it's called the "Scorpion Death Lock"). It can work, but I don't really see it at a high level when people are around the same size. Good threat, but don't stare yourself blind on the submission
Rubber guard is bs, no one in their right mind uses it at the highest levels for a reason. Yes some 10p guys VERY rarely have success with it, but it's not optimal nowadays.
Check on the legality for the competition you're joining! That being said, my friend Uncle Alwin hits neck crank type moves constantly at the highest level of Master. He just used it at Europeans as a master black belt. Older people are generally less flexible, so neck cranks are extra effective.
Its good to know that even black belts struggle with the north south.
And not for lack of trying 😅
I respect the A-tier placement for the Tariko🙏
One of my favorites!

I have a strong feeling you like arm triangles
@@havenbjj Wanna find a lady that looks at me like I look at arm triangles.
Seen so many high level wins from arm triangles. Should be top tier IMO too
It's also my highest percentage. I think it also really depends on body type
JT did so many bow&arrow chokes. It is definitely going in to B category. OSS
Ezekiel choke is one of my favorites in gi and especially no gi
@@aloofmeatloaf1467 you're right! Completely forgot about that one, great option, especially when people put their hands on your hips

Bow and arrow in the D tier is crazy
yea i was thinkin the same
i thought Bow n Arrow are the highest percentage submission in gi
@@ChokeArtist411 the numbers don't lie! Bow and arrow is great but less high percentage, and more risky. www.bjjheroes.com/editorial/crunching-numbers

Great video🎉
Thank you!
Thank you for the breakdown. Have to chime in and push wrist locks a little higher. Very effective if practiced thoroughly. Just my experience
Yea when you master them it's an amazing weapon. You just don't make a lot of friends using them 😅
@havenbjj they can't be mad if you do it slow and controlled. Never rip them, or any sub honestly.

Yes they can be great if implemented in a system!
Wrist locks are great for breaking grips.
@@relativisticvel nothing makes you let go of a grip like someone trying to break your wrist 😂

Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
How about a papercut choke? I would hazard a B tier especially in higher weight classes
Very sharp! I'll discuss it in a next video
Kimura god tier
Very biased comment here
I´d argue the Triangle is A Tier for No-Gi aswell
It's super strong, but I've seen too many people at a high level slip out. Don't let that stop you from doing it though 💪🏻

Great insights but a lot of submissions missing like Japanese necktie, von fluke, Mir lock and many more.
Great suggestion! I'm adressing these in a next video. What else are you missing?
Electric chair and gogoplata from rubber guard in lower tiers, baised towards 10p? Those are both way higher
