So far my attempts to active the cute charm glitch have been trial and error, I've just been resetting my copy of Heart Gold, trading over 8 cute charm pokemon(one from each group and gender)running around in the grass and hoping for a shiny.
ive been trying to do this for a while now and im just curious on a couple things:
1.) i hit A as soon as the timer hits 0 on the ds home screen?
2.) how many attempts does this usually take, because it feels like im doing it perfectly but im not getting the id i want (ive been doing this for a couple hours now)
3.) Do i have to manually name my rival or can i pick one off the list, does that matter?

if I do the same exact thing you did, would it matter if I changed the name to another one in game? like how it had to be caps SHONA or Shona can I change it to like DYLAN or Dylan depending on if it were a odd or even?

I keep getting the wrong seed when I go back in to check in Pandora's Box after that first run, no matter how well I did in the first runthrough of the intro. I've switched systems, updated my eon timer to use 3ds (I'm on the 2DS but idt that matters), upped my delay search to over 6000 (which is allowing me to get to the TV screen on time), and I still get a different seed when I type my new ID back into the right column of Pandora's Box than the one I actually wanted, even after near perfect streamlining as far as I can tell. how should I proceed?

i just wanna no how to get my IDs around the same Number thats how the "Bug" trigers the game for the 20% shinys correct?
I can't get it to work. I'm using a 3DS if that makes any difference and whenever I enter my TID into Pandora's 'Seed Finder' box to check how far off I was, it will always be the same delay, whether I leave my name as all caps, caps and lower, or symbols. The only way it seems I can get the Seed Finder delay to change is by changing my target delay. Also if my target delay is even, I always seem to get an odd delay in my game, no matter what I try in relation to choosing my name, and vice versa. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong or shall I just get an Action Replay. Thanks.
A couple of questions
1: how exactly do you find the delay you hit
2: For the first eon timer, do we enter the game at the title screen or the ds menu
P.S. im doing this on a DSi, so if there is any specific rules for that.. let me know

1. Check the ID you did get and find it in RNG reporter
2. 1st part is ds menu, 2nd part is the specific screen (tv DP/see you there HGSS)
How long would this take you if you even get it right on the first try? Or does it vary on your timings? I dont have to wait 52 hours to do this, right?
If you successfully get the ID/SID you want then as soon as you get a cute charm lead you'll start seeing the increased shiny chance.
i was talking about bot long it would take to get the id/sid, sorry for not being specific. ;;

+traverse-panic ah, well the first time you'll most likely be way off. After you have the correct calibration in eon timer then it's easy. (My first time doing ID manipulation took an hour or two to get the right id in ss, but when i did it on platinum it took 3 tries.) mainly it's just the calibration which should only take 1 or 2 attempts to bring down to a much more accurate level
can i just pay you to do it for me. I have tried all day for two days with no luck i can't figure it out.
Is this only for a ROM or the physical games

I did exactly everything, I got the right ID and I still am not encountering shinies with a Cute Charm pokemon in front.
TZD' Seiken it might be the gender of the cute charmer, try to get a cute charmer of the oppisite gender and try that

I have an ID of 14228 and nothing shows up. Did I do it right?

at 3:06 , does that mean that both seed to times and eontimer have to be at 27 for HGSS? even with both at 27, i get a different TID/SID combo on my delay
EDIT: holy crap! I did it! 30 sec in seed to times, 27 in eontimer did the trick!

Can someone help me out? I'm not new to RNG I've done cute charming with 2 different games... And I've RNGed for shiny legendarys. Long story short I've changed laptops and just re downloaded the latest version of RNG reporter (9.96.6) and when I try to go to pandoras box for finding a TID and SID it says no profile has been selected like wtf?? Before you would just click on it and its all good. Can someone help me out so I can open pandoras box?

actually can you just tell me your calibrated delay and seconds because im doing the same thing you were doing
Calibrated delay: 183
Calibrated second: 14
Target second: 29 (when 30 in RNG reporter)
Sound: Ding. I feel that the beeps are more accurate but the ding is easier on the ears, but the sound itself seems to be longer and thus i hit my seconds too late which is why i have them set 1 second ahead.
I also rarely update my calibrated delay. 183 is extremely accurate for me.
Of course, take all this with a grain of salt as all games / systems are slightly different and your times / calibrated delay will vary. Hopefully this is good starting point.

also, sorry for all the question but when finding what you delay you hit what do you put in for the minimum and maximum delay
because what ive been ding is trying to hit my delay on the same game over and over again because if you dont save the file it brings you back to the professor oak screen at the beginning

Red Rivera I need help, once I set the ds clock and start eon timer, where do I need to start the game from the main ds screen or from where it says touch to start on the game. Also are you suppose to shut down the ds after you change the clock?

If you need an action replay to do the cute charm glitch to get shinies then why don't you just use the action replay to hack in shinies in the first place
