Very emotional match here. What a Chang. My big Hero. I mean who give take two to opponent? We don't even do that during our part match. I mean this is senior tour but they are deal serious and they want to win. I think when Mac play he needs shot spots then goes smooth. But very surprising he still play great. I mean match doesn't get one sided. Except when Sampras play he still kills everyone.
...even if he does make a late correction, then their is no doubt at all (due to the delay) that they must replay the point, and Mac must get 2 serves. Even amateur umpires should know these basics.
@VengeanceAfter It actually looked out to me, and the commentators seemed to think so as well, but it doesn't matter at all. The linesman gestured "in", the umpire actually said "first serve". Then Mac walks back to serve and they suddenly change their mind and claim it's a second serve...they can't do that! That's embarrassingly shameful umpiring! Even if it's out, the linesman can't change his call SECONDS after...it'st too late..in fact, Michael had already complained, at that...
.....point, there is absolutely no question that it is too late to correct the call (the umpire must correct IMMEDIATELY if he clearly sees an error, the linesman have a bit more time to correct....
@aonutube Yes, Mac got screwed there. Chang didn't even know it, because by the time he turned around to question the linesperson, the idiot linesman changed his call to "out", after not saying anything but gesturing "good" (in other words, he called it good!). Chang just gave him 2 to be nice.
so when Johnny Mac is yelling like this in these old timer matches. Is he legit angry or is it just a gimmick cause its what the people wanna see when they see him play
It's a late split step he didn't give it away, my coach told me about the same mistake McEnroe basically charged the net way too fast and didn't split in time cause Chang blasted it.
,,,,their call...but not THAT long) . If the other player Michael has already complained, then it's REALLY too late, as it makes Michael and the linesman look bad as if he influenced the call....
Mcenroe had EVERY right to be furious. It was out, BUT: The idiot linesman actually says nothing and CALLS It GOOD with his hand gestures...then AFTER the umpire says "first serve"...he suddenly gestures "out". The umpire admits he then overrules HIMSELF after he called "first serve"...based on the linesman, but that he himself didn't see it??? WOW....talk about screw-ups. The ump ONLY overrrules if HE saw it clearly out. The linesman called it "good" originally....2 clowns out there.
As musician, l watch much tennis, l can see Mcs talent but am scared like (sorry music) Chopin NOBLESSE gentle even sublime bounded to calmness IS LOST (Even if as player he was sublime
Chang is a Christian Praise Jesus you can become one today 10 out of 10 people die Jesus died a cruel death in our place for our sins Jesus never sinned we have stolen lies being drunk hurt others ask Jesus for forgiveness repent from any sin he shows you ask him Jesus to be real with you he cares for you Heaven is a real place and so is hell for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life
Are you serious? He's the youngest ever grand slam winner and beat two top players, Lendl and Edberg to win it. But I think perhaps what's more amazing is that he managed to play so consistently from the late 1980s all the way to 2003 and to remain in the top 5 - 10 all the while. That's not easy to do when you think about all the amazing players that existed during that time, Edberg, Lendl, Agassi, Sampras, Courier, Wilander, and many more. To hold your own against these guys and even beat them a couple of times is not easy.
Chang was using the AeroPro Drive Cortex, and Mac was using the Dunlop Maxply McEnroe.
Chang was able to stay competitive for a long time. Nice pro career.
Michael Chang is underrated player because he is a gentleman with a sportsmanship. These are rare traits to see in these days of “me only”.
Good old guys, I like how it ended.
with him screaming at a senior citizen?
Classy move by Chang. And he was karmically rewarded. Or something ;)
Old Man Johnny Mac is gonna give himself a stroke one of these days. Go Chang!
LOL.......................I just love when John gets pissed off.
That my friend, the Chang spirit.
They still have great form and hit hard.
no wasted movements like players these days to look flashy. Forehand twirling above the head and all
a coach at my club taught micheal chang
Johnny Mac 4 ever!! (Michael is a really nice guy, too) ;)

You know Mcenroe looked down on Chang during their pro and said Chang would not win another slam after RG and unfortunately Chang didn't anymore.
so when Johnny Mac is yelling like this in these old timer matches. Is he legit angry or is it just a gimmick cause its what the people wanna see when they see him play
both, this is more for the gimmick but there are times in which he is mad but generally he has calmed down a lot after his pro days were over.
1:45 until the end of the video. LOL!
Credit to McEnroe for pushing Chang to two tiebreaks despite a head injury
Was John actually mad, or was he putting on a show?
chang is so sick for this
Feel sorry for those rental linesmen. A lot of abuse for a few coins.
Does anyone know what rackets Mac and Chang were using?
Mac using a dunlop mp. Chang using a babolat aero pro drive plus extended to 28 inches.
That's awesome
The don't get the Hawkeye?
It's a late split step he didn't give it away, my coach told me about the same mistake
McEnroe basically charged the net way too fast and didn't split in time cause Chang blasted it.

Mac the Mouth.
LOLLLLLLLL
Now there's hawkeye or Var technologies, there's no place for drama queens like John Mc, vintage humans like this, useless

Lost a lot of respect for John here. Charity match for 3rd place and he acts like he's 13
most unqualified player ever in the hall ofd fame. Michael Chang. Ever worse inductee than Novotna and Sabatini.
+pernell666 In addition, you are the MOST UNQUALIFIED to ever COMMENT on youtube in TH-cam HISTORY. PERIOD.

he's one of the 50 greatest men's players ever. easy hall of famer.
@@MrPernell27 Thanks god that you are not the one who is deciding who will be in the hall of fame. otherwise it would be the most dumb list ever.
You can't even do better bruh
