But they bet that most will have the "ohhhhh" face when they see the views and put every other sitting problem of the penthouse and building in the back of their minds.
Agreed. Some of the much cheaper mansions look way better. For example the "living room" and dining are very 70s brown, as if lived in for forty years.

Aside from Alex's detailed comment, it is more about the possibility of noise from a tenant above. But these places are never someone's primary residence anyway, just a bragging right for the super rich.
This is the tiny skyscraper that has many problems like leaking pipes and blocked elevators and its Saudi owner bought it for 87 million and is now almost for twice listed. Well, pretty stupid to buy that
169 million for any house is absurd. I can't think of any property in the world that deserves to be that expensive. You can buy the land of half of a state in England for that money.
NYT today: "The condo board at the supertall NYC tower 432 Park Avenue, one of the most expensive addresses in the world, is suing the developers for $125 million, citing multiple floods, faulty elevators, “intolerable” noise caused by building sway, and an electrical explosion in June - the second in three years - that knocked out power to residents, according to a lawsuit."
The building looks nice but is a total failure. They will never be able to repair the noise problem on windy days. Finally the wealthy have a problem their $$$ can't fix. The developers had to know about the noise issue, yet failed to inform the buyers. Even workers at the building knew.
@@earlaweese lol. The useful idiots are always first against the wall in the revolution. Maybe some day you will realize your naivete was being exploited to elect a fascist like Joe Biden. But I doubt it.

I do enjoy looking at these types of residences. The tragedies at Champlain Tower at Surfside, Grenfell Tower in London, and 9/11, plus my own experience of living in apartments, had made me unwilling to live in anything else but a single level, single family home.
For that price i would want a roof top garden, a Butler, chef, pool and personal spa with masseuse and nail tech on call, a personal limo and driver, and more then a pretty upscale hotel room

thank god someone talked about the decor. I can’t take it… Not to mention for the $169M they are asking. Hello?!? They can afford to at least hire a better interior designer right?
Don't forget to mention the ongoing interior structural damage due to building sway - causes cracks across ceilings and walls and pipes inside the walls breaking and/or creating noise.
around the minute 4:15 you said that 432 park ave is the most amazing supertall tower, while literally showing better designed, newer, more luxurious and more amazing overall buildings in the background LMAO
It's ironic that there's so much emphasis on how "unique" this unit is when the structure of the building renders the penthouse indistinguishable from other upper units. 170MM and you can't crack a window if you want to feel the breeze, let alone stroll onto a balcony. Not even 10k feet interior. Overpriced by 100-150% IMO.
Since the city of New York requires every habitable space to have access to fresh air you actually can open the "windows". Every window unit got those small vents on the bottom which you can open from the inside.
It's terrible that you support a developer who cheats on his own tenants. You realize that the residents of this building have filed a class action claiming 125 million in damages.
Just wait when the building start sinking like the Millennium Tower in San Francisco. I would never buy a high rise condo. Too much liability. Bad investment.
The owner bought it for $88m a few years ago! He's being cheeky for asking for double back after Covid19 and buyers now moving out of the city to suburbs!

@@jimkroustalakis2268 Apparently this building is remarkable… for its poor design, because of the empty floors the building has so air can flow through when it rains the floors below are constantly getting flooded, and i mean really flooded, there is video from inside the building and its pouring down horribly, and for that the insurance premiums are through the roof, another problem are the elevators, because of the wind the building moves a lot and the elevators cables touch causing them to stop working, leaving people stuck inside them for hours, it took weeks for one to get repaired so, no, not the best building far from it.

This is clearly about the views because the interior decorating is basic. At 5:37, that hallway could be in any home, the door handles and trims do not say grand or exclusive. At 1:52, this could be an office space that someone hung dreadful draperies in and put in some sectionals. I was shocked at how underwhelming this all was. Sorry to be so critical, but views aside, just look at it.
IKRR I've seen better apartments in Seattle!! It's all for the TOP VIEW ig.
I’m glad someone else pointed out the dreadful draperies. The 170 million dollar view was ruined by them but hey at least the fabric is Hermès….
Yes!!! I was thinking the same but thought maybe I don’t know anything. Lol. What the heck are the orange rugs? And loud designer branding only cheapens the look😕
I was thinking the same. You are paying for the views. That is it. The interior design (not even touching the numerous structural problems the building is facing now, including the towel shaking with high winds) is basic and terrible. But they bet that most will have the "ohhhhh" face when they see the views and put every other sitting problem of the penthouse and building in the back of their minds.
The draperies are atrocious and so are the furniture. 🙈
Love the view, but the penthouse itself is nothing special.
Agreed. Some of the much cheaper mansions look way better. For example the "living room" and dining are very 70s brown, as if lived in for forty years.

dude, what do you expect for 169 million, perfection? If they would cough up more money then maybe all that wouldn't happen.....
Some would say despite the issues they are still in NYC😂
The building looks nice but is a total failure. They will never be able to repair the noise problem on windy days. Finally the wealthy have a problem their $$$ can't fix.
