- One of the activities I remember being popular to do on a Friday or Saturday night was going to the movie theaters with a group of friends and buying the popcorn that was soaked in butter with a large soda that raised your sugar levels to to the point of no return. Then in March of 2020, the coronavirus pandemic came and completely wrecked the industry with most movie theaters either closing, being abandoned, or just demolished to make way for new development. This is what happened to Envision Cinemas in Blue Ash, Ohio and I will be telling you the story behind it.

I just saw this pop up on my recommended, I worked here during 2019 into 2020. The covid epidemic was not at all what took this place out, it was the owner. That man left on a vacation during the time he needed to finish up my paperwork to start getting paid, so as I was a week in I wasnt going to get paid til he returned. The managers then had no idea of my age as he never finished the paperwork and I would constantly be cut from work or a break at random due to them forgetting my age (19 at the time, adults did not get breaks for whatever reason). Then the managers were either fresh or had never managed before as i was used in 2 different areas holding down 200 tickets in the usher section by myself, even though I had 4 other ushers. The nail in the coffin is how the managers treated some employees as they could just show up and choose what they wanted to do for the day, and others were forced to either be cleanup or usher. So if you were working that day with a lazy kiss ass well gl. Did i forget to mention that they only give you 1 work shirt and you cant even get another one without paying 15$ so when a certain someone came in missing his shirt he was forced to wear a female coworkers shirt. FUCKIN DISGRACEFUL

I lived in blue ash a couple of years after it opened. Loved the place and tried to go back after the pandemic. So sad is closed down. I went once and loved the time I had. I also never knew there was a lake next to it. Would be a super cool place for a restaurants or some time of shared kitchen/bar area.

ACX cinemas have one the auction to own this beautiful theater and are now rebuilding it back to a theater it originally was. As I am typing this it is now open so all the great envision memories will all come back to you if you come to this place ( I’m writing this as a past customer of envision I always went there before COVID hit)

Bowling alleys and movie theaters, sure did take a big hit in 2020 ☹️ Another one down.
Yep, it 100% relied on people being present there and according to CDC there are definitely too many "touch surfaces" where Covid could be present. So these businesses shut down and couldn't recover. 1980's businesses like these are suffering for sure.
I went here in 2019 and was planning to take my bf there tomorrow only to find out it shut down now I wanna cry 😢
