My mother in law ran across a Hummel nativity set at an upscale store in the early 80s . The store couldn’t price it because it was not in their inventory. Final price was $50.
Only to find out the box must have been in a dark corner for 20+ years.
In a previous vlog post Dr. Lori suggested slowly moving the jeweler's loupe closer to or further away from the item for better focus. I was having difficulty using it properly or effectively since purchasing it. This was excellent advice. Thanks Dr. Lori for everything you do.

I inherited black and white Hummel postcards from my German mother-in-law. She came to America as a WWII bride. The Madonna and Child is absolutely beautiful and I have never seen anything like them. I have several and I framed them. Great conversation pieces.

My Mom had all 25 hummel plates i gave them to my Aunt her sister I'm going to ask for them back when she passes now my Mom was so proud of them.
Great video. Wish I had seen this last week...passed on a whole 1970's collection of Hummel plates in original boxes last week. Oh well...i know now

Our Goodwill is pretty sad. I used to see these in other Goodwill stores but never see them now. Perhaps estate sales but I think people are looking for them all day long. Wow, I did not appreciate these in my younger days. Lesson learned.
I have a bunch of Hummel Christmas plates, Vickers my memory plates, an American Homestead Summer plate by Currier and Ives' fine Franciscan China numbered 238, and some John Mc Clelland Mother Goose numbered plates.

2 days after this video I went to a thrift store and found 2 goebel plates brand new in the box for $3 dollars a piece, I was hoping it was the highly sought after years but it was 75 and 78 lol.

I am curious as to whether or not the Charlot Byj figurines made by Goebel have any value. She most notably did the Redhead series, but did other things as well.
