Thank you Dr. Lori. Though I do not collect nor sell Hummel, I cannot say that I did not need to know this. I run across them every once in a while, so just in case, I now know what I needed to know to look for. Always informative and certainly appreciated.
Hello Dr, I know an 82 year old woman who have Hummel figurines that once belonged to her mother in law. I took photos of the bottom and profile of some of them. How do I send the photos to you for evaluation.
Ever since I was a little kid my mom taught me to hunt for Hummels at garage sales/estate sales etc! There are a LOT of knock offs out there! Great video!
Wow. Considering my basic awareness of Hummels, this was very comprehensive, interesting, and already fun for my future sourcing ventures. Thanking you from Massachusetts, Dr. Lori!
I have the 1935 wanderer. I also have that one you have that is holding music sheet. Actually I have another one like the one holding the music sheet but looks different. I don’t know what they are called. Those are a little newer that the 1935 wanderer. Thank you
Hummels were so popular back in the day I didn't find any interest in them until last year when I bought a winter scene one a boy skiing...now I collect winter theme to put out for Christmas just love them.
What an excellent lesson on Hummel! I so appreciate your expertise and help! I loved Hummel figurines since childhood, but now I know how to tell originals from knock offs!🙏🏻❤️
Thank you Dr Lori for this wonderful video. My mother just passed away a few months ago and I noticed A handful or more of Hummels sitting on a top shelf in her living room. I know she brought them back from Germany where we used to live. So this video is timely for me as I plan on taking them down from the shelf and doing some research of their value. Thank you so much for your expertise. I have learned much from you and your videos as I continue to clean and catalogue my parents home. I will soon send in photos to you and pay for a few appraisals. Thank you
Same question. I have a pair of what I have always thought were Hummel salt and pepper shakers - mother had them since at least the 1960’s. Boy and girl on skis. Always wondered what they were worth.

Thank you Dr. Lori, for giving us a detailed lesson on the Hummels… I love the “ thrill of the hunt” shopping, but now I love to add your knowledge to it! By the way I love your blouse, cobalt blue is a very good color on you!
My mom had a lot of Hummel. When she died we had them in a garage sale, my sister sold them for a really low price. I kept the Manger Scene. *Creche* I really love watching you, reminds me of the neighborhood I grew up in; We were the only Californians in a neighborhood full of New Yorkers (most of them also spoke a lot of Yiddish) in North Hollywood. Those were interesting times.
Thank you for the lessons on what to look for on Hummels, Dr Lori! I know we have one somewhere around our house. I am going to have to go find it now! We were into collecting Anri carvings in the 1980’s.
Excellent information as usual! I always learn something in each video & newsletter. Are you aware of any reputable reference material listing each individual figurine produced, by date, with pictures?
My mother in law bought the nativity set you have on your table, my daughter has it now. The store (the Broadway) told my mil that they could not sell the set to her , priced at $49.99 in the 80s, because the item was not in their inventory. She finally bought it but the store manager surmised the item had been hidden in the inventory room for years and some stockperson stumbled across it and set it out.
Wow! Dr Lori I have Hummel figurines my favorite is the school boy those are so precious. I wondering did children play with these? I have one stamp 1933 . So cute
Great information. I have a collection of Hummels (6 are Hummels, 3 look alikes and have the Goebel mark and 1 no clue) that belonged to my mother-in-law. Some are old with some newer ones. I'm not particularly fond of them and had been thinking of selling them. One larger one was broken and was poorly repaired but the remaining appear to be in good condition and I can now go through them and see what I can do with them. Good to have this information to learn what I have and what value they may have.
I can also appraise your pieces by looking at photos of them or you can show me the pieces during a video call. I can tell you what people really pay for your pieces.
@@DrLoriV I may be interested. I pulled my info that I had put together and I'm finding discrepancies between what's posted on say eBay and what I can determine from the marks. (And the "no clue" may actually be a circa 1949 figure - relooked at marks).
Thanks, I have my aunt's from the 1960 and a few I bought in the 1980. I collect because they remind me of her. Can you also talk sometime about the Danish Christmas Plates. I collect both companies. I wish I could understand this and how to understand what I have. I have quite a bit left to me. I have the umbrella boy and girl set that show 1957 on the bottom but it's hard finding someone to explain the value of them. I have several Hummel's that most appear to be stamped from the 50s.

Hi Dr. Lori, I hope you see this and can answer prior to the auction I might buy on. In all your hummel videos I don't think I've heard you mention this and 'm trying to find out if its authentic information and I only trust you.
