It would have been nice of you opened the camera app when you were casting. I'd like to know if you could use your phone as a temporary security camera, having it stream video from your phone to your TV.
TK Bay I just bought this last night and I tried to cast the camera today. It works good with my Samsung S7. I'm happy it rotates the screen also. The delay is very minimal. Maybe a 1/4 second at the most. I would mostly use it to see what's going on in the front of the house so I can see when mail, or FedEx arrives.

I just want to point out that actually the 4K demos you showed actually weren't being played back in 4K. If you notice on the screen to the right of the number of views there's a badge. If the video is playing back in HD, the badge says HD, but if the video is playing back in 4K, the badge says 4K. In the demos, the badges were HD. Maybe because the wifi connection wasn't at full strength, based on the signal strength icon upon your installation, the Ultra defaulted to 1080p? Would you be able to test with an Ethernet connection and see if there's a difference?
I find the google chromecast Ultra to be a rock solid device. It would be nice if it had it;'s own remote and interface, however, I have no problems using my iPad as the remote. The home app, and the other apps such as TH-cam, hulu, netflix, etc all work without issues. While I can't get DTS pasthrough currently, I do get dolby. So, I do get 5.1 audio from supported apps / services.

I have Cat5 connection at the back of my TV that comes direct from my modem. If I understand correctly, I could plug this into the ChromeCast Ultra

it will work better than the one from last for sure with load times and overall response. and adding a remote to it would make it more cumbersome. as they did not have an interface that you can control. like the nexus player and the Mi Box.
Are you sure you were playing videos in 4k? the description when you play a video is saying HD. I seen another video when they pressed play on a video and it said 4K.
I did so many clips the one that made it in did not show 4K due to network issues. but this device can handle it. I did not notice that when I edited the clips.
Question could you please tell me if you have a phone that can recored personal videos via it's own camera in 2160p/30 or even just 1080p/60 can the Chromecast Ultra playback those personal videos (or throw) them onto the Chromecast Ultra? The 2015 Chromecast could NOT cast 1080p/60 recorded videos well at least not very smoothly. Thanks.
Paul Glimmer I did record it for a video on my pixel and I was able to mirror my screen to the Chromecast and it played back fine. Is that what you mean?

Question, if you were in other countries, how is this chrome cast gonna benefit? As you can only access TH-cam and other services needing subscription. So only TH-cam can be use as main source.

Note: Some TVs require you to manually turn on HDR from within the TV settings menu. Check your manual for instructions. interesting idea, it should work as it will broadcast your screen. but keep in mind the lag that you will see.

Commentator 76 you may be seeing the highest value that your device will play on your screen it should cast in 1080P to the Chromecast

you can do that by using Chrome browser and the casting extension. you can mirror you desktop to the TV and watch your movie

That is correct. I have the older chromecast connected over ethernet. Works like a charm (and more reliable than over wifi)

Earl Small Not needed. I have a 70" samsung uhd 4k smart tv and it has no problem streaming 4k vids.
