Wes Hampton, Michael English and David Phelps are probably the best trio for very serious songs and lyrics. I am 71 and into music, believe me they are better than most, whether secular or spiritual.
Wes was often in the shadow of David. But out of all the members of the Gaither Vocal Band, with the possible exception of Bill. Wes has the biggest appreciation of Quartet singing and gospel music.
When they were singing 3-part harmony (3:15).... oh, my.... sounded like angels! Makes me cry. I just discovered this group and they are already my favorite….I have been listening to them for two hours straight. Couldn’t sleep… I don’t know how I got to their video… But, thank you Lord!
I just saw a video where Wes said that this song has such special meaning to him, and it is so obvious...the heart he sings it with, and he teared up for a minute..(as did I because he did - again because of this song's message). A beautiful young man, Wes Hampton is. Watching him in videos and seeing how wonderful a husband and and dad this precious man of God is..he's such a blessing to many of us as well. I watched Gaither music videos for so many hours today I lost count..and listened doing chores. No Gospel group compares..none. I pray to see them in concert one day..I missed my last chance I had this past summer. Such amazing, beautiful hearted men of God that we don't see so many of anymore as we did back in the days of our "silent" generation's day. May God continue to bless Wes and his family abundantly, as well as David, Mark and Bill and their families as abundantly as they all bless my life every single day..their music is and will always be a part of my daily worship. This is one of my favorites, as well as the singers in this particular GVB..Wes, Mark, DAVID, and Michael...What anointed men of God who have chosen to use the talent God himself has given them continually bless my heart, soul, and every fiber of my being.. I too have not seen or heard them in person however I do have it at the top of my bucket list!!😍😍... I missed seeing David Phelps in concert when he came to NC in August and last Sat to hear Michael English due to the effects of Hurricane Matthew here in my state.. I have however heard and have followed Michael for about 25 yrs after he came to my church several times with his brother Biney. I have followed and been a fan through the ups and downs and his redemption..If you are not a follower on the individual fan sites for all of them as well as the GVB I would highly recommend it for you. I didn't mean to write a book chapter..lol.. but when I see a mutual friend of these guys I have to comment.. Feel free to send me a friend request if you are on Facebook.. This song always moves me as it reminds me of every broken hearted children, teenagers and adults out there who doesn't have anyone to comfort them after every tears they cry for suffering from abuse, corporal punishments, negligence, mental breakdowns, hunger, and other problems and has led me to host full time prayer meetings on weekends, praying for those that need help and visiting them on weekdays providing them with whatever we could. If you're reading this😢, there are things that you have in access/abundance in the comfort of your homes that others in your neighborhood wish they had. Things like food, clothes, shoes, clean water and other basic stuff that you could help others with and make a big difference in their lives. Christianity is more than just going to church every sabbath, it's about bringing back lost souls to Jesus and loving others as yourself. PEACE. ❤❤❤
