Game managers seem negative because people act like they can't make game changing plays.
Every QB has some game manager in them. What separates elite QBs to really good QBs is consistency in making those game changing plays. Purdy has shown that he can consistently make those plays.

@@itzvort3x959 Depends on what ur definition of elite is. I think in most people's minds is an elite qb is a qb who constantly plays at a very high level for a long time. That said, people will consider a high draft pick an elite qb sooner with a smaller sample size vs a qb who is selected later and in this case, the very last pick. Those qbs have a lot more to prove in people's minds in order for them to be "elite". So in Purdy's case, although his numbers and the film so far (in 1.5 seasons as starter) shows he is playing at an extremely high/elite level, he won't be considered elite by many until he does it every year for a very long time since he was the last pick. A lot of people are expecting him to turn into a pumpkin still.

That throw wasn’t complete luck. He overthrew Ayuik because the defenders bumped Ayuik at the 20. People seem to forget there was a declined Pass interference on that play. Ayuik hanging in and making the circus catch reenergized the niners though.

Am I the only one who remembers that would have been pass interference had he not caught the ball. That pass would have been no different than many of these other big time QBs that basically heave the ball up hoping for contact.
Am I the only one who remembers that refs called there is no foul on the play and the result is a completed catch and a first down? Just because flag is thrown doesn't mean there is a penalty as they sometimes inadvertently throw one

Yes, this is an incredible story. From being the last one picked in the nil draft and before hand thinking he might not get picked, to going to the super bowl in his 2nd year in the nfl is an amazing story.

Yup Peyton's big brain carried his worn out body that SB year. He did throw for 2 HUGE TDs vs Brady the game before though.
When elway won 2 super bowls he was also mostly a game manager compared to his 80s performances. Since he had better weapons and an amazing running game he was much more efficient and had better numbers since he only had to play hero ball when needed unlike the 80s where he mostly had to carry the offense.

He had the iconic run where he got hit top and bottom and spun into the endzone, but otherwise it was Terrell Davis carrying that entire team on his back into the endzone over and over again and one of the elite TEs in the game catching passes for Elway. In the 2nd game they gave two of the TD runs to another RB and not TD, so Elway got the MVP in 99 whereas it was TD in 98.

The throw to Aiyuk - why is no one commenting on the defensive PI (defense player interferes with the receivers ability to catch the ball) that would have been called had Aiyuk not been able to catch it? Vildor clearly interrupts Aiyuk's route (that's when the flag is thrown) meaning that ball was placed perfectly if his route wasn't impeded. But because Aiyuk caught it, they picked up the flag.
They keep saying Brock overthrew it! Argh.
There was a flag for interference on that throw impeding Aiyuk to get where Brock expected him to be. Why is that not mentioned.

Brock Purdy is the truth period. To try to knock him because he has a good team is wild because I have seen good teams with bad qb’s and it wasn’t pretty.

You know how you change the game as a quarterback?! Touchdowns and interceptions, cam had 194 TDs and 123 INTs. Brady had 649 TDS and 212 INTs. You had 0 rings and 0 fumble recoveries in the SB. Brady got a ring for each day of the week. Cam has zero authority when it comes to who changes the game and who doesn’t.

Mad love to Keyshawn to bring up Kurt Warner here. I've never been a Rams or Cardinals fan but I am a MASSIVE Kurt Warner fan. Walked into the video store in like 2001 as a child and bought a used VHS of their magical 1999 season recap, and absolutely fell in love with his story. He is THE MAN!!
Alabama went hard to sign Brock Purdy. After playing his last high school game as a senior, not a single power five school had offered him.
He got mono which prevented him from being in a lot of the 7 on 7 camps. So nobody knew who he was. At the last minute Alabama got some of his tape and said “who is this kid?! And why don’t we know of him?!” Saban came all the way to Arizona to make an in home visit a couple weeks before the second February signing day. If he thought Purdy was just a game manager, he would have never taken the time to fly to Arizona. Purdy is the best high school QB in Arizona history. He was Arizona Mr Football. He got coaching from Troy Aikman’s QB guru while in high school. He’s been working to be an NFL QB his entire life. He’s built for this sh*t. He chose Iowa State because they should him the most genuine love on his visit. Before Brock Purdy and Breece Hall, name another Iowa State player. Seneca Wallace is the only one I can think of. Eisen is an NFL employee, he seems to have changed to a more

A bad call in Dallas took a win from the Lions and cost them the #1 seed, and the bad spot in the divisional round cost the Packers points. Since it was a close scoring game, that bad spot could have cost them the game. The 49rs definitely had some help getting to the SB. Those last two wins were pretty ugly. Purdy and Jordan Love had similar stats, but not so similar weapons. I'm no believer of Purdy.
U can't necessarily say the lions would have had the number one seed...cuz if the lions won the Niners would have played their starts the last game against the Rams, and the niners lost that game by one point with their starters out 🤷🏿♂️
