Each unmade reminds me of some passion/emotion that goes out of control. Certainly related to Odium in that way, even though some have more/less autonomy (Sja-Anat). Great metaphysical psychology Sanderson has going here. Fantastic work!
That’s an interesting thread that could get pulled on more. We don’t know enough about all of them, but I have a budding theory that there is a connection to the 9 surges the Fused follow, with one each in some distorted way. We’ll have to read more to find out!
Just wanted to say how much I love these videos. This is exactly what I was looking for when I needed a recap. I couldn't keep up with the 1/2 hour videos from other channels. I feel much better having watched these than anything else. Keep it up!
Hey glad the videos helped!! Getting these videos down to manageable to view, let alone manageable to edit, was pretty tough. There’s just so much to discuss with these books!
Thank you for this. My copy of Wind and Truth arrived in the post today and I really needed a quick recap of the unmade before getting into it. I love the way you have managed to give a lot of detail and yet keep it quite short. 😊
Thank YOU for this comment, this was exactly the purpose of the channel when I created it. There are a couple other videos that could help before you start reading and this video was one of the longer ones. Hope they help too! Thanks for watching!
After the 5th book you should make 100 videos on every single topic. No one is giving in depth videos as we don't know everything and sometimes they are not willing. You should be the de facto channel for storm light archive. Best of luck
Hey wow that’s high praise! Thank you so much!! I’m not full time by any means, and these videos took a ton of time to put together. I certainly have a plan to get to 100 videos eventually, but it will be a long journey of multiple years to get to that. There’s plenty of time before Stormlight 6, so that will help, but I definitely want to maintain quality over quantity. Deep dives are definitely on the list for new content, so stick around!
@@Unarchivist I know that and i want you to take many years, it would be the channel to look back and reminisce. And I also don't want you to be full time, then it would be your livelihood, i don't want that. If i was not married and my work was not so taxing and if i was a native english speaker i would create these videos for sure.
Hey thanks for that, I’m really looking forward to the future of the project. Definitely want to live up to the praise everyone has been giving in just these first few weeks. It’s a good pressure, and I’m excited to share more with this budding community soon!!
Just discovered this channel and this is a great video. As for the thrill I think probably in Arc 2, someone is going to want to try and get it back. So, one could say they're *thrill seekers* :D
It’s definitely a little ambiguous at the end, and depends if you really believe that Hoid knew it went as he expected. Guess we’ll have to find out next week!
@@codystrickland6803 I'm sorry you feel that way. But think of how much fun Hoid will have facing a wily opponent. If this whole thing was just Hoid 100% beating Vargodium, that would mean there's no tension in the book. We would already know that Hoid was just gonna win, cuz he's impossible to beat. Isn't it more fun going into Rhythm knowing there are some actual stakes to the fight?
I can see the criteria you picked to determine which Unmade were most "impactful" but it's not what I would have picked... I think Ba-Ado-Mishram casts a long shadow. Also I always get Nergaoul and Moelach confused ^^;;;
@@Unarchivist I would definitely have put Ba-Ado-Mishram at the top. The fact that she is the reason why there are parshmen and deadeyes is a huge deal to every aspect of the story. I would say we're mostly in agreement on the rest. Keep in mind I'm not saying I think you're wrong. I think that it looks like you're putting more weight on direct impact we see on-screen during the time period of the books. Which isn't necessarily how I'd go about it, but it's not wrong. I'd have a lot of trouble placing Moelach, since we see almost no genuinely useful Death Rattles "on screen" but at the same time Vargo says he's been using them to refine the Diagram, so what percentage of the impact of the Diagram do we attribute to that Unmade? Reasonable scholars can disagree.
Discussions like this are great, and disagreements are inevitable. Mishram was placed at the bottom of the “so far” list based on how prevalent they’ve been in the story so far. Obviously, we think she’s at the top in WaT, and probably moving forward. I do get your point about how her pre-story impacts shaped the world we see, so she could be at the top for “so far” as well.

I read all these books, some more than once, and could not have told you these details 😂 Love it!
Glad you enjoyed! The depth of this series is incredible, which makes those rereads even better!

I love Brandon and these books, but I have to watch your videos (and others) to understand most of what's going on under the surface. Thanks so much!!
Hey! That’s exactly why I made them! So glad they help!
Found your channel recently really like your work 🙌🏾leaving a comment to help the algorithms
Thanks! Appreciate the support!!
This is the kind of recap I needed before wind and truth. Thank you.
Glad it’s what you were looking for!
I love these lecture style videos. Ty for doing the research
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Going for a more serious tone, but don’t want it to be too lecture-like to be boring. More to come!
Great summary
Thanks, glad you liked it!

My ebook copy of WaT dropped halfway through this video and I'm so glad I finished watching before i cracked it open! Your work is so appreciated!!
Hey thanks for the comment, I hope you enjoy every page of the new book!
Great stuff! 🙏
Thanks!
Great vid, needed a refresher on the unmade!
Glad it helped! A lot of research went into this one
Thank you for these, I have trouble remembering all the details and the books are too long to reread before the next 😅
Happy to help! More to come for the whole Cosmere!
Great channel/videos, deserves more traffic!
Thanks a bunch! A ton of time has gone into this project to get these videos out, but just getting started!
good video, its always nice to get a little refresher before the next book
Totally agree!
I can’t believe we only have 10 more days
Almost here! We’ll talk about how RoW sets up book 5 next week!

Great recap videos, well thought out and put together. Hope this channel blows up in the coming weeks 👍🏻
Thanks so much! Appreciate the support!
Excellent videos!!!
Glad you like them!
You make amazing videos, youre definitely gonna blow up
Wow, thanks for high praise! I’ll do my best to live up to it!
Very good overview, especially the Unmade continue to confuse me.
Glad this could help some! Anything still confusing with the unmade?
Great video! I’m so hyped. Whats your favorite stormlight archive book?
Ooh that’s a great question! Probably have to say Words of Radiance, but I love them all!
Dang it. Forgot about Wits memory getting altered.
It’s such a scary moment, Hoid has been all but invincible up until now!
@@Unarchivist The Worf Effect. Give instant cred to the new villain by having him curb-stomp the strongest good guy.
Definitely worked here!
Okay but like, was hoid really bested?
It’s definitely a little ambiguous at the end, and depends if you really believe that Hoid knew it went as he expected. Guess we’ll have to find out next week!
Brandon has said he absolutely was. The term he used was "hornswoggled". Vargodium won, Hoid lost.
@macmay3042 mannnn and I was gonna have a good holiday break. That's a bummer

I feel like the phrase "jumping off point" does not mean what you think it means.
lol you’re definitely right, should’ve said something like “exit ramp” or similar
