- Now that most third party developers have access to the PS5 Pro briefing material, it was only a matter of time until the specs would leak. We had a lot of the GPU stuff come out last Friday, but now we've got more leaks regarding the PlayStation 5 Pro's CPU, Memory, the RT hardware, and even support for the detachable disc drive! Let's go over these fresh leaks, and discuss the broader picture about this super powered PS5 console. Maybe someday I'll become Mystic Pro. Or Ryan Pro. Lord knows I've been going for far too long without an upgrade. My framerate is AWFUL.

Thanks for the analysis. 4k 60fps with ray tracing would be nice!
Arreh karl bhai aap yaha?
Karl 😂 you here, we know you love gaming. But didn't inew you were this big of a gamer. Awesome
This is all I ask for from this system
Just 60fps in quality mode without RT would make me happy.
Not happening, AMD RTX performance is really not good. You need FSR to just get RTX working fine with 1080P/1440P(and since FSR isn’t hardware locked it can work on the base ps5 perfectly fine) . The performance on RTX is laughable bad on AMD cards not to mention the lazy implementation of RTX looks way worse than screen reflections. The only game that did RTX good was a anime game (persona 3 reload) even with that, RTX in general. Get a PC and get a high end card if you seriously want to play with RTX 4K. And even if this does happened developers are gonna be lazy and just make RTX run at 30 FPS to begin with.
Man how the time has passed. I remember when you were covering base PS5 leaks before it released.
Then shortly after pro launch we will see PS6 leaks lol
@@EternalNightingale there’s already a few leaks out for the ps6 lol
Me still with my OG PS4 😂
Ps5 has been a bag of shit
Better off with a PS4 at this point as for ps5 pro lol what a load of crap Sony needs to give us some descent games rather than woke junk and remastered woke crap
Me still with my OG PS3 😂
i agree aside from returnal, demons souls remake and ratchet and clank sony hasnt published anything that really interested me and 2 of those 3 games are on pc, this generation was heavily carried by 3rd party games@@baz7918
@@user-oq6sc1qm4jI have a ps5 it's crap the games are junk and I'm sick to the back teeth of woke shite games and remasters yawn 🥱 I have a backwards compatible PS3 it's awesome you can play PS1 PS2 PS3 all on the same console.
Lately I've been playing Xbox 360 rgh as it runs sweet game's from those days ran better on Xbox generally and OG Xbox pisses all over PS2 and if you play OG games on 360; rgh they look even better and play smoother.
7th gen absolutely pisses on 9th gen this modern day gaming is solely about grabbing cash ...
you can play Resident Evil 4 Remake on it. While Xbox one X can't.😂
All it needs to do is combine performance mode and fidelity.
Yes this is what every reasonable gamer wants. A 60 fps fidelity mode even if you have to toggle off ray tracing. I think people would take it.
There will always be 2 more.
No matter how strong it is.
It’s just about what do you want more graphics or performance
40 frames per second fidelity mode
I don't care how shiny they can make Clank's balls; I just want a 4K60 experience.
Should have that most likely, but not for gta 6.
What a pleasant person you are.
Upscaled 4k 60. I’d be happy with that. Native isn’t worth the cost.
you're not getting a 4k 60 experince, hell you're not getting real 4k at all
Just get a PC at this point
Unfortunately, we'll probably never get Native 4K at a locked 60FPS in console gaming buddy. More like Upscaling at best with 60FPS.
Hey Ryan, small correction! AW2 did ship with a performance mode at launch. At least on PS5. That's how I played it. Love the content man keep it up.
Only 'pro' feature that the current PS5 misses is PS3 back compat.
The PS5 could at least support PS1 and PS2 backwards compatibility.
Never gonna happen. Sony wants to charge us to play retro games.
i 2nd that if it plays the PS3 and PS2 disc based game then it worth to buy
PS3 emulation is very hard because the PS3 had a very complex CPU, and Sony has said before that Backwards Compatibility is not that big on their to do list, they feel as though "its something that a lot of gamers want but dont end up using that much".
*PS1-PS3 disc compatibility
I'm stoked for this. I just want higher res with 60fps.
You're in for disappointment, just a gpu upgrade isn't enough.
40 fps games are pretty smooth, If it continues to do that while pushing for a slight increase in internal resolution it'd be perfect. And yes do the same at 60fps, but 40fps is like having the best of performance and fidelity with very little compromising.
@@psvitaoled197 As it is my Ps5 plays new AAA games at 1440p/60 fps.
The GPU upgrade should allow 4k.
Screw the RT frame Rate killing crap ,don't care about shiny floors and windows.
Some games even below 1080p lol.@@Crashed131963

If they are sensible then the profile of the pro at least around the disc drive matches that of the revised ps 'slim'. Meaning those with a disc based ps slim can buy a discless ps pro swap the drives and crucially swap the plates between to respective consoles.
If ps5 pro ends up having a ps3 all games backwards compatibility then this will really make it sell. Apart from this I don’t see any other reason to upgrade

Lame
Do Yoga Nidra 10 min session. Trust me.
For me this generation has been a extremely enjoyable with most games shipping with a performance mode. It may not have the biggest leap gen on gen in terms of graphics, but for me gameplay is king and 60fps is a big part of that.
How does it not have a big leap in terms of graphics?
For me it’s not the biggest, the move from ps2 to ps3 is far larger. I would also say ps1 to ps2 is a greater leap in terms of graphic fidelity. As an example, HFW on ps4 to ps5 is mostly resolution and frame rate. Of course there will be extra foliage etc but it’s not the jump I’ve experienced in previous gens.
PS2 to PS3 absolutely blew my mind as a kid. I was always in the mix of PS1-PS2 and of course that was a big jump, but when I saw how the PS3 looked for the first time, I almost couldn't believe it. I would hurt my neck pretty good while playing and looking straight upwards on the demos at walmart lol
The main differentiator (from base version) will be ML architecture for PSSR. That and more GPU grunt would make it an appealing purchase over base version
Does the custom machine learning cores are SPE like processors that were introduced way back in ps3 🤔
We don’t need no Pro we need more games…
More games?? We really don't....
Bro stop cappin
The studios are making the games, not the hardware. Both are being focused on by different people at Sony.
You dont speak for all.
Your backlog says hi
Call me an old fart, but advancements and changes and better performance can be had by better development and management. There's 30fps, 30fps that doesn't work, and 30fps that does work. Every game should focus on 60 this day and age and budget, solid 60. We did it on the Saturn, we did it on the PS1, we did it even before then. Shape up or enjoy a new crash, north american games industry.
and the pixel count for those gmaes graphics wernt anywhere near todays games. tell me you dont know anything about game dev without telling me.
„A new crash”
That will never happen lmao
I mean if it can provide 60 fps across the board? Then yeah that alone would be worth it because consoles have been so inconsistent in frame rates for years. Not having to pick a performance mode for every game would be a welcome upgrade.
I’m excited for the pro and will cop day 1 but the idea of it not shipping with the drive is scary. I just want physical as long as possible
Can we get backward compatibility with discs for the PS1 & PS2 in the PS5 Pro please?
If they're making detachable Bluray drives, they might as well sell detachable CD and DVD drives! I still proudly own the PS1/PS2 USB memory card adapter for the PS3; since it's USB it might as well have had compatibility with future PlayStation consoles, not just PS3
I wouldn't even mind waiting for the PS6 IF it had that specifically
@@dr.pepperphdindeliciousnes1396 I would too! I suspect though that Sony won't ever give us that because that would stop them from hoping people would double dip and spend more money for access to the old titles.
@@krlayne We all have to stick together and not buy remakes, remasters, or classics off the PS store.
@@dr.pepperphdindeliciousnes1396 I agree. I refuse to buy any. I would love to play and maybe stream some of my older games like Vagrant Story or Breath of Fire from the PS1 era.
😮😮😮 i don't know what all these numbers mean. All i want to know is, is 60fps going to be possible on all games?
Only if sony forces a mandate on developers to give them no choice on how they're allowed to use the hardware. Ps1 had 60fps. Its a resource allocation decision
If they can choose, yes some more games may be 60fps but other developers may choose to do more things with the resources like noc density, mesh interaction, draw distance, fidelity, ray tracing etc at 30fps
60fps is possible on all games now on standard PS5 but to do it requires a LOT of compromises like Ryan said. Some developers don't feel the compromises are worth it tho that's why some games are still only 30fps. But PS5 pro will give them more power to work with, hence less compromises to make, hence more developers will give us 60fps. But saying all might still be a stretch sad to say. But emphasis on "might" tho.
Exciting developement, I think its very likely we get the same detachable drive thing as with the slim. Likely cheaper for sony to manufacture the machines without and sell the device on the side.
I hope this time Sony asked devs to make games able to force fidelity and performance modes at the same time so we will only have to enable a boost mode instead of waiting for an update.
For Pricing I see the psvr 2 goin from 599.99 to 449.99( or lower) leaving the spot free for ps5 pro to grab that 599.99 price point. And then a domino effect for the ps5 slim disc version to be 449.99 and the non disc version go back to 399.99.
(Did not include a version of disc or no disc for ps5 pro...it being a pro version, should be a console with disc drive included and of course 1tb storage )🤔
amen.
I dont feel like dropping another 500-600 on a playstation. Only had mine since 2022
I've had mine since March 2021 and I almost feel stupid for even buying it in the first place. What even was the point when most games are still cross-gen and all the "exclusive" games end up on PC a year later?!
Most pointless generation in console history. Have we actually even had a single truly _next gen_ game yet?

But will the in game clock be better at tracking my time spent with the game?
wonder if Ghost of Tsushima 2 the PS5 Pro launch title, like Horizon was for the PS4 Pro
But Horizon got the free 4k/60fps patch for the Ps5.
@@Crashed131963That means Ghost of Tsushima gets a free patch for PS6.
I’ve heard rumors it’ll be gta 6
Yes even though it’s on both consoles I’m pretty sure Sony has the marketing/promotional rights and would be smart to bundle it with the first release of the ps5 pro cause everyone will buy that
Horizon Zero Dawn came out 5 months after the PS4 Pro
People asking for 4k60rt and 1440p120rt that is exactly what this is aiming for might not do the full 120 due to the Ryzen 2 cpu but 90 to 100 vrr is about there too
It’s not gonna give you native 4K at 60fps nor will it deliver native 1440p at 120fps. If you knew anything about technology you would know in terms of raw rasterization performance this is a smaller leap than PS4 to PS4 Pro. It’s basically AMD RX 6700 to RX 7700 performance leap. So a %50 faster GPU with 2-3x times better raytracing. So RTX 3070 level raytracing performance. The main gimmick will be Sony’s upscaling AI which is better than AMD FSR but inferior to Nvidia DLSS.
@@ZackSNetwork The PS5 Pro is said to be as powerful as the 7700 XT and the games are getting more demanding every year too, At that time even a 4080 would barely be enough for 4K 60. And don't expect the performance of a 5080 in a $500 console
@@ZackSNetworkwhat you said made some sense until you said a tech we’ve never seen is better than XYZ. LOL.
With the upscaling tech working as advertised I would say it’s possible. It’s just speculation on top of speculation though. We don’t really know what the bottleneck is on the current system and we don’t even know if the leaked specs are legit.
We’ll just have to wait and see.
Cheers mate.
@DavideDavini They are probably releasing the PS5 Pro just to beta test the PSSR and then release an improved version like PSSR 2.0 with the PS6, maybe with frame-gen as well
At work rn on lunch and this post is the best thing that could ever happen. Thank you, Ryan🙏
Do you have the launch codes ?
PS5 has been on sale so much in the UK this past year that they could easily drop the price to that to be the normal price. So it would be £399 for normal ps5 and ps5 pro would be £499
600-650... if they add more memory.
Only 25% more expensive?
Wasn't PS4 £249 and PS4 Pro £349 a 40% increase
This will be a similar 40%
Maybe they'll get it down to 30% at a push, but I doubt it
£549 minimum I think
@@beachlife2968 Yes
PS4 Slim came down to £249 when PS4 Pro came out for £349 which was 40% extra
If they can get the PS5 down to £399 (the price it is when on sale), then they could do the PS5 Pro for £549, that's a bit less than 40% extra, but it hits a price point
No chance it's £499 when the PS5 is £475
We need games. Not a new system.
And they haven't even pushed ps5 to the limit.
Like what actual native ps5 experience have we gotten so far? None Basically. And they now want to sell ps5 pro for some reason.
What are the Differences between the Pro, Slim and the OG? I just got the OG one last year to Play FFXVI then months later the Slim was released. then maybe after one or two years, Pro will come out? I'm starting to regret buying the OG one and should've wait for Pro or Slim..
The slim and OG are the same, the Pro will deliver higher image quality.
You will lose nothing by having only an OG 😊
Thank you guys for the info.
The OG is way better higher quality build and doesn't have the ugly glossy plates.
So it won't be what I hoped it will (a premium machine where you'll simply won't be choosing between performance and quality modes - quality 60fps by default).
45% more raw power is nice and more games will run likely at 40fps instead of 30 by default which will help a lot, but it's clear as day their focus is further on fidelity. I'm fine with the quality we have now and what bothers me is the resolution - pretty much anything nowadays is just a blurry upscaled image from insanely low resolutions to be looking "4k" by some meaningless metric not holding up in reality - maybe in still images. Definitely getting it - anything helps, but considered the thing has 8k on the box, but is running so many games internally at 1080p is just a joke to me.
Ps5 pro I just ask 1440p 120fps
it will only be possible in indie games and very few triple A titles (like Cod). but I believe they can achieve 1440p at 60 fps in most games.
Be happy with a good 60 fps hopefully
@@vinzig5036 this is why I went with PC so I can get 144 fps
😂😂😂
The ps5 already does 1440p and 120 fps...... I'm so confused. This ps5pro is not a big upgrade
All I ask is the PS5 Pro will be able to download PS3 games that are on PS Plus Premium and will get enhanced to at least 4K 60 FPS. Also PS1, PS2, & PSP games 4K 90FPS and/or 8K 60FPS.
Tbh im hearing about Native 4K with 60fps since the xbox one X 😅 i really hope that will get it with the ps5..
I hope to god they added more L3 Cache cause that's just as important as adding more clock speed, as the X3D AMD CPU's has shown.
Getting the Pro day 1! :)
that is if the scalpers dont have a field day again 😆
getting it 1-2 months after
Need to get shot of my PS5 first 😅
I wouldn't worry about the CPU too much. As we try and push higher resolutions we become more GPU bound anyway.
Wonder if Dolby vision for movies and games and 4k blu rays is on the table. And no more 30fps games.
30FPS will always be a thing for Games that push Graphics.
One thing to keep in mind is that to get the playing specs people want, it may take even longer for games to be developed. Especially with open world. Yeah PlayStation ports games to PC, but they never seem to perform up to par as on the console.
I believe it’s a give and take at this point still on consoles. With that being said, I’m going to wait see if it’s that big of improvement. May get later in PS5 cycle if it turns out PS6 won’t have backwards compatibility.
So many variables…
I'm surprised how many people misunderstood the PS5 compared to the series X, and still do not understand why the seemingly more powerful X isn't trouncing the PS5.
Here we are again with so much misunderstanding of the PS5 pro.
Didn’t Microsoft just announced their games are going to Sony so they don’t even care about consoles anymore
Nobody is saying this will outsell the base ps5
Misunderstood ps5? The series x is a better piece of hardware. The series x and ps5 both cost the same. Games play similarly on both. Load times are also similar. The difference is the series x is alil smaller. Also the ps5 uses more power to run games and even netflix.
The series x is a more efficient console.
For me I really hope the Ray Tracing features turn out to be massive because going forward in gaming that will be the biggest graphical leap we can get out of games.
Hey man, appreciate your insight and content over all those years. You really should be in a high position at SIE...

@@sevennvdgood point
I don't care too much about a PS5 pro since I just bought my PS5 slim (and didn't have any OG before), but I very much welcome the decision to include a disc drive and not push it into digital only. A detachable disc drive makes sense, but that would imply that they'll sell disc version and digital version just like the OG and Slim have.
stupid question i know nothing about how these things work, but will a ps5 pro make the old games look better or run better? or would it only effect new games or something
I just got a ps5 slim two days ago. But thank goodness they didn’t give too much of an upgrade 😅
I missed out on the PS4 Pro when it first came out but PS5 should honestly be able to do not upscaled 4K at 60fps by now if it was marketed. The fan doesn’t even ramp on mine so it’s clearly not being pushed to the limits yet whereas PS4 ramped up with later PS4 games and older games run quieter.
It even says 8k gaming on the box lol 😂
By design, the ps5 fans should never ramp up the way older consoles did. The APU has a specifically set power limit based upon the launch model, so when pushed, the clockspeeds should downclock to avoid the excess fan noise...
There are many game the Ps5 can upscale 4k/60fps.
Alan Wake 2 and Elden Ring play at 60fps with a upscale 4k that starts at a base 1620p. Not bad for only $500 .
Digital Foundry has two videos proving it .look them up .
I just play every game in 1440p native 60fps mode without RT . Thats a deal at $500 to me .
dlss...fsr....them 'pc boi's' were hating on the consoles for having to use upscaling.... now it's all the rage for pc. upscaling is not going anywhere.
@@christermaddoes it? i've never seen the box or either system in person to actually read if it says that.
Yea but the CPU is super important for frame rates. To me they have to prove this “pro” is going to run certain games at 60 fps like GTA 6 where a PS5 can’t for this to matter to people. Otherwise this could be a huge waste of money. Sadly people might not even know if it can if they buy it right away. Hopefully Sony realizes gamers have switched off of needing slightly better graphics to needing the good 60 fps modes. That’s what people would pay for. But slightly better lighting or visuals in GTA6…maybe people would pay big money for that. But it’s going to be so disappointing if that’s locked at 30 fps.
Not to a huge extent. Sony specifically wants developers to minimize floating point and do all compute on the GPU per the operating systems design.
Consoles use APU’s. Power and thus heat dumped into the CPU artificially limits the GPU’s performance. Unlike a PC the CPU and GPU can’t operate independently with their own power and heat dissipation methods.
Things that need to be computed on the CPU such as simulation in the background don’t need to be calculated at the render rate.
@@cynic5581 well I hope you’re right in the sense that it helps get gamers the 60 fps mode they are looking for. Great to know though, thanks. Now it all comes down to does it actually work out in the end.
I would take 1080p resolution if it meant i could get up to 120 frames. A buttery smooth high frame rate like that can make 1080p appear like basically 1440p.
I dont know why people simp so hard for ray tracing. Frames always outweigh resolution.
Plus games are made so good now a days that 1080p looks perfectly fine. Give me 1080p 120fps all day. To be honest 4k is a minor difference for most these games some games it looks better then others. HDR to I don’t see much of a difference again in some games I just care about more frames it’s so much better to play a game with smooth frame rates.
Theres already 120hz on the ps5 i guess if you want a 1080p 120 fps as the standard but 120 fps on ps5 already exists
@idk-xr8lr
PS5 does have 120hz capability with VRR but it's rarely used by any developers to the extent it could in order to get the game at the 100+/- frame range.
FFT means fast Fourier transform. It's an algorithm to process a digital and non-periodic version of Fourier Series. Everyone knows Fourier Series right?
Here is another question… why do we even need a ps5 pro? I don’t see hardly any games fully utilize the PS5 hardware
To sell new hw to scalpers - easy money ;)
Yea no doubt. We still haven’t seen them utilize 8k yet on the base ps5. It’s advertised right there on the box Sony. Was that a lie and just some kinda bunk sales pitch? I’m not buying into the Pro after what I’ve seen.
@@nicknasty14 Forget 8K, they've barely utilized 4K lol
@@Stylebender1989 Lol

60fps + Raytraycing would be beautiful
Yeah! And we were promised it on og PS5 so here's hoping. I have an 8k 85 inch tv and cannot be dropped down to 1440p to reach 60 fps it looks trashy and blurry on my tv. I need at least 4k res.
It already exists. Raytracing in kind of a broad term, it's not just an on or off situation, it varies to a lot of degrees, current RT game should be able to have that but I hope they'll update some titles to have higher RT fidelity like path tracing to push for better graphics as well. Hope CDPR will upgrade Cyberpunk with a ps5 pro update.
@@christermad Exactly! I have a 4k 65-inch one, and I have the same problem. I just want the high resolution, at least 60 fps, and Raytraycing. I'll even take upscaled 4k if need be.
@@JudgeFudge57 True, I know many games offer Raytrayced shadows at 60fps, I'm more specifically hoping for reflections.
@@christermadbro you went to far ahead in tech
I was waiting for this bro to drop this video.
But will they update every game to be able to use it? If it's like the PS4 PRO situation then it amounts to nothing.
Scalpers are coming to rebuild the bots
I hope so, they’d go broke a lot less people are gonna buy a PS5 Pro than a PS5. Look how many people had the OG or slim PS4 when the PS5 came out.
well… it’s 2024 not 2020, most likely on release its gonna be available in stores
I just hope it has a disc drive. I could see them try to push digital by saying it lets them configure the console with better specifications for the price.
Within the video it says it will be compatible with the same detachable disc drive as the PS5 So it will be sold as a stand alone digital console to keep the cost down but can be used with disc if so required
They have higher margins on digital products too :)
Was kinda hoping pro would have zen 3. But I assume they sticking with zen 2 for backwards compatible. Sad a Missed opportunity for zen 3 cpu/RDNA4 gpu system. They could also increase Vram to like 18-20 Gb and maybe 4 GB DDR5 for OS/background task. Would been better go more Beefer system, better cpu that more capable true 4k/60. Most current native ps5 games for 60 fps mode are like 1080p to maybe 1200p/60 if even that.
Oh well. Kinda more waiting for switch 2. And hoping it has 12 GB ram on it. Just want play TOTK at 60 fps.
I think due to what happened at the beginning of the console generation. They will extend this Era
It needs a Mr Cerny ASMR road to PS5 Pro talk again.
Imagine if they could release this as a GTA VI pack like the Spider-Man pack.
rockstar is not going to work on a Pro version just for this. Wish yall would stop that ignorance. They will wait to do any further versions until way after the base consoles are out.
That is in the works late 2025 when GTAVI launches. PlayStation is trying to get a 6 month exclusive.
@@kahnsealable don’t expect a pro version, this is likely to be a patch later, more a good pack to sell high numbers.
And it’s not ignorance, as RockStar already advised it will be released locked at 30fps regardless of how powerful system is to ensure consistency across all platforms.
@@lindah6954 They won't get no 6 month exclusive from Rockstar. They have nearly $2 Billion tied up into GTA6 and they are not gonna risk losing money on console exclusivity.
@@lindah6954 Rockstar will not do an exclusive deal as there won't be a PC release for 1st year, locking into 1 ecosystem would badly stifle sales.
I wouldn't be surprised if some first-party studios release RT patches for their games on the launch of the PS5 Pro
I wonder if Pro would have any substantial improvements to PSVR2 games?
Will Sony Cross Gen games like God of War Ragnarok also get a PS5 Pro upgrade
Most likely yes.
They did with Last of US Remastered with a PS4 Pro patchm it's wilk be likely to see it with many of their already launch first party game

If it makes GT7 run at either 90 or 120 Hz natively on PSVR2, I’m all-in.
lol 😂 somehow i doubt that bro 😎
Bruh you’re trolling
Look at what the apple vision does and thats as far as we’ve gotten with vr
@@DevilFan669 Why? The core presumption about the PS5 Pro is that it will up frame-rates automatically without any needed update from devs.
Seems entirely plausible that GT7 might enjoy a huge boost, and I suspect the POLYPHONY devs - who love VR - wouldn’t sleep on such an improvement.
Might not happen, but why not?
@@thegreenmed - I don’t understand your comment. We already have games that run in PSVR2 natively at 120Hz and exceed MaxResolutionScale (RED MATTER 2) on the vanilla PS5.
It’s perfectly plausible that GT7 might ditch the reprojected 120Hz and embrace what a PS5 might offer.
I have no idea why you’re bringing up AVP.
I see SONY has ceased making any more VR2 helmets fore the foreseeable future due to having so many unsold ATM, not surprising since the lack of new games for it, and closing studios that were making them doesn't look like that situation is going to improve either
Hey want is going on with 2k gaming and the Moto GP series
Price is the issue here, i got my ps5 digital day one, now the same console costs 450Euros.
I can safely say if the specs are real, that the digital version is going to cost at least 550euros day 1
That's correct. The normal PS5 would have to be cheaper and the Pro would have to have the old price of the PS5 and not be more expensive.
Hardware becomes outdated quickly and prices are expensive.
Since the PS5 doesn't have any current hardware installed, it should never cost more than the PS5 did.
Apart from that, I think 10% more CPU performance is far too little.
especially not after such a time and price.
What's wrong with that? It's a better console. Sell your old console if price is a problem for you.
That's not expensive?
@@feltyash6484 in this economy when most of us are already struggling with the cost of living crisis + rental crisis, uhh, yeah it is expensive. The games are hella expensive too, and that's not even including the ongoing cost of PS Plus... some of us have rent and bills to pay first before even considering buying this stuff 😂
@@babyboomertwerkteam5662 Man i get that but realistically you shouldn't be worrying about buying a whole new console for some more frames if you're struggling with rent lol
The incompetence of developers are not the console’s fault. Even PS1 had games at 60fps. So ask yourselves why some developers can achieved this while others can’t?
One of the Tekken games has a 60 FPS mode, but a ton of graphical compromises had to be made.
as long as there is 60fps mode available
Yes brotha
I hope - that with the api for p5, NO patches are required, it'll just run better, I dont fancy having to pay £10 just to get more FPS out of the game when they're £70 already. I just dont want a fuzzy FF7.
So basically it’s the same CPU, GPU and memory, but with higher clock speeds and better RT. Too minor of an upgrade for a tangible difference. [Edit: GPU is indeed different, sorry]
Though thanks for not destroying the base PS5 as it has seen very few next-gen games so far.
The PS4 Pro also had the same Jaguar 8-core CPU as the base PS4 albeit clocked at a higher frequency. Presumably this is done so to keep compatibility at 100% and of-course it helps with the cost.
Not the same gpu or memory, did you even watch the video?
Thanks for the summary, I'm still going to listen to the video, but doesn't seem worth upgrading from base PS5. I also didn't upgrade from base PS4
Current PS5 is 10.28 teraflops. This is supposed to be 33 teraflops. That’s fairly sizeable.
CPU isn’t a large bump but Sony doesn’t want game using heavy floating point operations. They want all compute done on the GPU.
Keep in mind consoles have an APU. Work done on the CPU uses power and produces heat on the same “chip” the GPU is on. This artificially limits GPU performance. Unlike on a PC where CPU operation is mostly independent of the GPU.
It's 33.5 TFs at 16 bits form, not 32 bits. @@cynic5581
What's the point of the PS5 "pro" if we're not guaranteed a 4k 60fps

4k /30 fps with RT turned on any day of the week .
4k/60fps with RT is not happening on any BOX that cost under $1000.
