- Jessica Rothe leads the returning cast of HAPPY DEATH DAY 2U, the follow-up to Blumhouse’s (Split, Get Out, The Purge series) surprise 2017 smash hit of riveting, repeating twists and comic turns. This time, our hero Tree Gelbman (Rothe) discovers that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead.
Jason Blum once again produces and Christopher Landon returns to write and direct this next chapter, while Happy Death Day executive producers Angela Mancuso and John Baldecchi are newly joined by EP Samson Mucke (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse).
Death makes a killer comeback. Happy Death Day 2U in theaters February 13.

I like the song, but I wanted to hit myself when it started playing. Didn’t seem to work for me. But I’m kind of against actual music in trailers. I prefer instrumental stuff that is the actual score (instrumental music) to the movie or a movie. So for Star Wars, I’d rather hear the Star Wars theme than whatever is currently popular on the radio.

I thought it was a second trailer. Some of the stuff I don’t recall seeing in the trailer when I saw Halloween. But I was only half paying attention to the trailer. Didn’t watch the first movie (I read the spoilers though), so I didn’t really give a crap about the sequel’s trailer. Also, the trailer I saw when I went and saw Halloween seemed longer. Like 60-90 seconds longer. It almost seemed like this trailer added stuff but removed stuff, although I can’t recall what was possibly cut. I’m just here in the comments section to see if this is the trailer that was attached to Halloween or if it’s some kind of second trailer.

A random "To balance the equilibrium of the universe" explanation if well acted will do the trick. 🤗
The most common excuse is that the person has become too much of a conversional point in time and to reset the universe she/he has to die in such a paradoxical way that the flux of events would be washed away (like killing him/herself).
Another popular is the good version vs evil future self, where in the future she/he becomes crazy and decides to go back in time to kill those who hurted him/her, so another version of her/himself during one of these loops decides that the best solution is to also to go back and kill him/herself before he/she got crazy.

Aaron Suarez, if you saw the new Halloween movie in theaters, you’d know a sequel was coming. There was a trailer for it that was attached to the new Halloween. Unless some copies of Halloween didn’t get the trailer. But I guess they finally released the trailer officially online/to the public.

Did anyone watch the web series "Next Time on Lonny"? Jessica Rothe was on an episode called "Choose Your Own Lonny" and she stood out so much I bookmarked her IMDB page immediately to check up on her. It's so good to see her getting the attention she deserves.

@Brandon Spain how not, this picks up right after the first film doesn't use pre filmed scenes from the last one, same characters and all, and the plot so far is perfect , they didn't go with her mom was the reason that happens to her or a prequel showing her mom going thru it BECUASE that was stated to be the sequel and we got this and it's a whole lot better and the trailer so far didn't realise too much but enough to understand why but not how.

If they really wanted to do a plot twist as it looks like the film will be playing with multiple versions of the characters and time travel they could make it to where Tree is the killer and she’s trying to kill her past self or future self.

I saw it. Was half paying attention though since I didn’t watch the first movie. I read the spoilers to the first movie though since I had zero interest in it, but I was interested just enough to want to know the ending and know the ending by reading the spoilers instead of sitting through the whole movie. I’m just here in the comment section to see if this was the actual trailer attached to Halloween or maybe a new trailer. Some of the footage seemed new to me. But as I said, I was half paying attention to the trailer so I forgot over half the trailer.

Had just gotten to finally watch the first _HDD_ on DVD, and man did I enjoy it a lot, what a great _"Groundhog Day_ meets _Scream"_ type of film. This has now left me all-the-more super-excited for this sequel _HDD 2U,_ judging on the trailer, it seems like they are gonna be going for like a _Back to the Future_ type of approach in it.
And I am call it now: If they do ever get to make a third film, I will bet my last dollar it will be titled *_Happy Death Day Tree._*

This trailer is a bit different from the one that i saw when i went to see Halloween. If any of you saw Halloween and remember anything from the trailer, you would remember her agreeing to killing herself. Also, the plane scene wasn't in it, instead there were two scenes, one was where she died by dropping a hair dryer in the bathtub and waking up with crazy hair, and the other was her in what looked like a convenience store, drinking motor oil. Like and reply if you saw it and remember it.
