    Disclaimer: Please, please, *PLEASE* wear a respiratory mask and make sure you are in a well ventilated room or outside. The fumes from resin, especially ones like she is using are very toxic and can easily be harmful. Also please do not bring the solution anywhere close to your face, especially if your not wearing a mask.
    Other than that I did very much enjoy the project, but please be safe. wearing a respiratory mask should be mandatory with projects dealing with resin

    Also, you can place the images inside the mold and not have the colors or glitter show in front of it. You place the image and let it dry for about an hour then you pour the rest of the resin in. If you let it dry before pouring, you’ll get a clear picture, no leaking, and less wait time and work.

    Please do research before you decide to sit down and epoxy. These liquids give of odorless chemicals that can cause cancer, not trying to be negative in anyway but you should be wearing more protective gear (respirator and safety glasses).
    on another note your work work is beautiful.

    • @mzzcat2u
      @mzzcat2u 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes it drives me crazy watching these TH-cam videos and all these people are using epoxy inside the house with no protective gear. I personally go outside and wear gloves mask and safety goggles.. and when I come in I strip right there in the laundry room and wash my clothes because I cannot stand the odor of it. I have since stopped using epoxy. But yes watching people do it indoors and a small space makes me cringe.

    • @boojeecloset
      @boojeecloset 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      curing time depends on how much you've used and what you used it for.
      if you place it in a mold then allow at least 24 hours, but if youre just using it as a top coat, then it will take less time for it to cure. temperature is also a factor in how fast or slow it cures.

    Not sure if anyone has already said this, but aside from gloves, I really recommend getting a respirator mask for doing anything with resin. Without a mask, you breathe in all of the toxic vapors that the resin creates. This can cause serious health issues if you breathe it in over prolonged periods of time and can lead to permanent lung damage! Please everyone, be safe with this stuff because it is still a chemical!

    You've done such a lovely job. Thank you for sharing your great techniques. Especially with how to add the photos in the right way. 💕
    I have a few questions. I was wondering if you or possibly someone reading this may please be so kind as to try to answer for me,
    #1) Is this a special kind of epoxy resin that is heat resistant if using these ashtrays for its intended purposes of cigarette ashes?
    # 2) I noticed you had a heatgun but did not see what it was needed for?
    3) You did say to stir until the cloudiness turned clear, (thank you so much for being the first I personally had seen while in my search on here. *Please, this is not a discredit to any other TH-camr that i may just not have seen.*), but I was wondering approximately how long that stirring was for before it turned to the consistency it needed to be?
    I apologize for all the questions, but I am new to this and am just trying to learn as many techniques as possible in hopes of minimizing multiple more mistakes I've already encountered.
    Thank you kindly in advance for your time & advice. 🙂

    Is the last pour (for the images) the same 1:1 mix as poured in the silicone mold?

    Holy crap, you're a tiny person! That box of gloves looks like a suitcase next to you! Ey, quick glitter tip, I imagine you use some type of release spray inside your mold, if you do that then pour your glitter into the mold, dust the whole inside then pour the remaining glitter out, you wind up with a fully glitterfied ashtray without using up much glitter at all! Shout out to the crafsman for that trick, keep on steady craftin!

    How are you gonna put a sticker on the part of the ash tray where you ash. That’s why people put it inside. That’s the whole point. I watched this whole video to see when she was gonna do the stickers, and she really did that. They do look cute though, just for decoration. And who uses an ash tray as decoration lol

      She needs to be wearing PPE.. full face respirator, bodysuit proper room ventilation system with intake and outtake exhaust ... so many ladies are watching these TH-cam and TikTok videos being done unsafely ... and because of this epoxy/resin craze and unsafe videos there will be a class action lawsuit someday... I’m in a group where a mother did epoxy at the table while her 8 yr daughter slept and the 8 yr old is now completely blind in one eye and partially blind in the other...
