Also, you can place the images inside the mold and not have the colors or glitter show in front of it. You place the image and let it dry for about an hour then you pour the rest of the resin in. If you let it dry before pouring, you’ll get a clear picture, no leaking, and less wait time and work.
First timer here. I just wanna tell you that I have watched a lot of videos in the last couple of years and your videos are so easy to watch! You’re easy to understand, helpful, and informative without being a Chatty Cathy. I have wanted to work with resin for a long time now, and because of your video, I have the courage to. Can’t wait to turn out some funky ashtrays!
I love these ashtrays. I have been addicted to making them, however my love you have given me another idea as to how I can put a picture inside my ashtrays.
You've done such a lovely job. Thank you for sharing your great techniques. Especially with how to add the photos in the right way. 💕 I have a few questions. I was wondering if you or possibly someone reading this may please be so kind as to try to answer for me, #1) Is this a special kind of epoxy resin that is heat resistant if using these ashtrays for its intended purposes of cigarette ashes? # 2) I noticed you had a heatgun but did not see what it was needed for? 3) You did say to stir until the cloudiness turned clear, (thank you so much for being the first I personally had seen while in my search on here. *Please, this is not a discredit to any other TH-camr that i may just not have seen.*), but I was wondering approximately how long that stirring was for before it turned to the consistency it needed to be? I apologize for all the questions, but I am new to this and am just trying to learn as many techniques as possible in hopes of minimizing multiple more mistakes I've already encountered. Thank you kindly in advance for your time & advice. 🙂
This was helpful thanks! I'm gonna start doing resin art and I got myself a gas mask thing on Amazon. I got a headache just clear coat-resin my paintings so I suggest a mask cuz ooof that headache stayed for about an hour

Love this thank you. I was having issues with putting pictures inside. Thank you again. Trying to do one for my pops for his birthday at the end of the month.
Thank you so much for creating this video! I've had so much trouble understanding how to make my own resin molds for different things, and this helped me a ton!
the heat gun is to pop the bubbles theyll all rise to the top after about 5-7 mins and you can either blow them with a straw or a heat gun/ torch lighter and theyll pop
Hey PJ i know lol but sometimes you have to make due with what you have, if a heat gun isnt available a straw does the job, ur completely right about mixing the resin too fast lol but i just get impatient so popping bubble methods are useful
She needs to be wearing PPE.. full face respirator, bodysuit proper room ventilation system with intake and outtake exhaust ... so many ladies are watching these TH-cam and TikTok videos being done unsafely ... and because of this epoxy/resin craze and unsafe videos there will be a class action lawsuit someday... I’m in a group where a mother did epoxy at the table while her 8 yr daughter slept and the 8 yr old is now completely blind in one eye and partially blind in the other...
I love all of your videos and you work is amazing. I've just started working with epoxy and I have heard when using epoxy you should be wearing a chemical mask and not wearing one can be damaging to your lungs the long term, just something to look in to for your long term health.
Yes Queen get your mask on. I love your videos and wish I had the courage to do videos, but I don't. So I'm going to need you to wear your mask so I can keep watching you do your thing.
i've been looking for this like forever, this is art sis thanks for your video and your explanation you made it look really easy and entertaining hope to try it soon
Great video. Awesome turnout. Just one question... what did you use the heat gun for? What part of the process is it needed? I just got one but I have yet to use it. Thankfully it came with something else that I ordered. Not completely sure what all I can do with it yet. Can you please advise me? I didn’t see where you used it in the video. I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance
Disclaimer: Please, please, *PLEASE* wear a respiratory mask and make sure you are in a well ventilated room or outside. The fumes from resin, especially ones like she is using are very toxic and can easily be harmful. Also please do not bring the solution anywhere close to your face, especially if your not wearing a mask. Other than that I did very much enjoy the project, but please be safe. wearing a respiratory mask should be mandatory with projects dealing with resin
Great idea and I love the art! However, cured epoxy (with no heat resisting additives) will unset at around 100F, and will melt usually at 140F. The average temp of a cherry of a cigarette, blunt, or a J however, is around 1,100F.
@@rhonda.sevena Not that I know of for art purposes. Even epoxy for things like models and construction don't allow for resistance up to those temps. Maybe up to around 500F but that's even pushing it.
So off topic of the final product.... But as a fellow curly girl, I’d love to see how you got those incredible results! Oh, and I’ll be making the ashtray too,
Yeah ... so you can't really use it as an ashtray i mean you can't put out fire cherries or let the lit cigar touch it , unless you secure the bottom with a aluminum foil type of material or something , but you can still flick ashes into it , but it's so nice i wouldn't wanna use it as an ashtray any way , just decoration.
My question as well. These are obviously made for joints that go out quick. Cigs continue burning when sat down in the ashtray. But this question is 4 months old and there's no answer yet so...don't look like there'll be one. I think these are just for pot smokers...a place to dump ashes and keep roaches.

do you pour clear resin on the mold then put the picture? because that keeps happening to me.

Little tip : Be careful not to mix the resin too fast like she did.. you’ll get a shit ton of bubbles after it cures

the heat gun is to pop the bubbles theyll all rise to the top after about 5-7 mins and you can either blow them with a straw or a heat gun/ torch lighter and theyll pop
@@lillianshelton382 Right I do use mine, sometimes it works. I didn't see her use the heat gun at all though, unless it was off camera.
Torches can melt the mold causing it to stick to your piece or ripping when you attempt to remove it. Heat guns are great though 👍🏽

This was so tight , how does the eproxy hold up against heat does it burn like plastic being that it is a ashtray .
I was thinking the same thing....waiting on that answer👀
I made one about a month ago and it’s holding up pretty good.
It doesn’t burn
Heat can activate the toxic fumes that epoxy is not heat resistant!
