Exactly. I'm just NOW seeing these. If I had known of them sooner, I would have done life differently and studied these instead of the fluff that took up my time. 😢
It's the master's own handwriting! I think he recorded it like this. He fixed cardboard disks on the shaft, and installed styluses (X-Y) on the arm control rods. With the doll's hand, he drew symbols, and the styluses along the axes fixed the trajectories on the disks.
I am lost for words, this truly would have to be the very best I have ever seen, the cleaverness in working out all those cams and wheels and everything else makes it appear that to make an ordinary clock would be very simple compared to this, I wonder how long it took for Jaque Droz to create his wonderful automatons? Many thanks. Jim from AUSTRALIA.
I´m wondering how the creator prototyped his cams. I guess he used an uncut disk and "recorded" the movements by painting a line onto its side with a needle, then he cut out the contours. The needle would then be replaced by the pickup lever. ?
Hello, I am writing a book chapter and would like to use a couple of images of Jaquet Droz Automata. Do you have any photos I can use in my book chapter or alternatively would you happy to give me permission to use a couple of screenshots of your vidoe as images in my book chapter? Would you be able to share your email with me to seek permission more formally? Many thanks, Poorang
The musician is playing to fast after restauration, I use to hold her fingers longer time on keyboard and play beautifuly Also the boy was not making those noise during operation
One thing I can say about automata makers: attention to everything, but the music? Always terrible. Couldn't you get in touch with a decent composer? It's always jarring to have such mechanical masterpieces bleating some of the worst music imaginable.
The composition is just terrible. Yeah, the timing was probably better 200 years ago as was the tuning but that doesn't help the music itself. It's just not good. Why not hire a composer of renown for such a quality piece?

All this in 1700s. Brilliant. The sheer amount if identity crisis this must have created for humans
Love that sound at the beginning. It's the sound of engineering genius 😀

Quelle prouesse! C'est extraordinaire
Awesome!!!
Wish I could have had a closed caption English... Your beautiful work was amazing to see! Thanks for sharing✌️❤️🙏
You can change the cc to auto-translate to English, give a close look at the player.
There are embedded subtitles in German and English at the bottom though.
Oh my god Ive been looking for an image of that hand for 5 days
Does the system account for the diminishing lead tip? It must, unless it is replenished continually, I suppose.
Andi Reis It adapts as it starts writing. It shakes the pencil to draw the cartridge out to the required length.
Wow I really needed this video
Intéressant, superbe.
True Masterpieces!
Wondering what might Jaquet-Droz have done with the Derby Clock in Louisville, KY. 😥
Espectacular 👌 que sutiles cada engranaje
Pure talent!

surprenant
The writers letters are sorted by height, A being the lowest and z being the highest.
Superbe! Très intéressante!

FoxGhost7 It was probably in much better quality 200 years ago. You'd expect her cams to wear down considering her age.
And also the pins.

Even so the cams and pins would wear down, hindering her ability to play the piece.
the musician is playing jazz
Speak english! I mean, we bailed you out in WW2... at least speak our language.
